Great mileage

When I first drove it hated it. Needed something with good mileage. So I settled for the Insight. Best decision I've made in a long time. Have had the car for just under 6 months over 15,000 miles. Drive 120 miles round trip everyday. If you keep the cruise control at the speed limit your mileage will continue to rise. I am getting 45.3 per gallon all types of driving and it is climbing higher. Looking forward to hitting 50 MPG.

Easy 50 mpg

How can US gov. can rate this hybrid gas electric at 40 mpg? I easily get 50 mpg with guidance from the built in monitors. Prius owners ask how is the mileage and have expressed that they are not happy with their mileage. I think this vehicle will be great for Teenagers as it teaches you how to drive efficiently and rewards you for doing so. The seats are completely adjustable and very comfortable. I chose this vehicle for mileage, styling, and the fact that it has 1 cubic foot more storage space in the back than the Civic.

New shoes for the kid

This is not a luxury car. It gets great mpg. Suspension is pretty stiff. Tires awful. I drive curvey roads and wore tires out in 20k. I got new shoes for the kid, they are new Continental ProContact with EcoPlus tires. They are awesome. I went with one size taller tire (185). 2.5% larger circumference. At 80 mph really doing 82.5 mph. Very satisfied with handling now. Motor assist is not as seamless as they advertise. My wife hates it. Car looks sharp. AC or heat works fine on average days. On very cold or very hot days you need to dress accordingly. Heating and ac is fine in any condition if you are traveling more then 10 miles. Overall I enjoy my toy. Good value

Nice car

I am liking this car more as the gas prices go up. I get decent mileage. Around 45-50 on the highway, 36-40 city. Cruise control seems to use up more gas in my opinion. I've had no problems with the battery as some reviews have mentioned. My navigation disc is outdated. For some reason I have a 2007 version in my car. Honda offered to split the cost with me. It should be free for all the money the navigation system cost!! The front passenger seat is uncomfortable for a large person. This is a leased car but I think I will go with a larger car when the lease is up.

Keeping up with me

Still driving my Insight after buying new and it’s almost November 2023! I’ve not taken many long trips but the few I’ve taken were carefree. I’ve never broken down nor had major repairs done. I’m 75 and no plans to change vehicles. The only change I suggest is the back seat is too small and I miss having a sun roof.

Not enough power for Texas summer

Although I look like sportiness of the car, don't buy it if you live somewhere hot like Texas. When you come to a stoplight, the A/C turns off. You can override by turning off the Econ button, but then what is the point of having a hybrid. I've also found it doesn't have enough power to accelerate when merging into traffic with the hills we have here. I've owned Honda's for 25 years and was adamant about not getting a Prius, but now I'm regretting it. I do like the ability to see gas mileage and how my driving affects it, and I'm getting good gas mileage, although not as good as my Prius friends.

Plastic is not a good quality

I like this car. But it is such a lightweight that plastic on left hand side makes noise on bumpy ride. I showed it to dealership. They fixed it. But it again started making noise after two days. Also power on acceleration is not good. It is not able to drive fast enough on hilly roads. It starts charging battery on the middle of the hilly roads, rather than waiting for a while. That makes car's power stink.
