Survived the "looks ugly" stage!
When we first got the car there was a lot of negativity regarding its looks and lack of "box" utility. The "critics" never drove it and hated from afar. Well being a decades old Honda owner we wanted a dependable and safe car that suited our life-style. Took a shot at what we needed. Absolutely no regrets 9 years later. Also noticed a number of high end copy-cat vehicles popping up recently. My guess was that Honda messed up the marketing and the look was slightly ahead of its time.

Completely In
I love my 2nd Crosstour . It is a 2015 with navigation and remote start.It is very comfortable . Even though it’s an all-wheel-drive putting Blizzak snowtires on makes it almost unstoppable in the snow ! This is the best car I have ever owned hands down ! Nothing is perfect but it surely comes close !

An understated Vehicle
NEW UP DATE: The longer I own the vehicle the more I realize Honda no longer makes great reliable vehicles. The brakes need to be replaced every 9 months or so. Replaced the axels four time and the is still a slow speed vibration at acceleration. Bluetooth is more miss than hit on connecting and privacy mode requires me to turn the vehicle off to reconnect and get any audio. Interior is also falling apart. Next vehicle will be Toyota as this feel more like the poor GM garbage. **Update*** After owning this car fir a couple years I still like the features of the car being a utility sedan. However, the cost of ownership is very high from what I expected from a Honda vehicle. Break pads need to ge replaced about twice a year, the axel has worn out twice already, never had to do that to any car I've owned. The started and push button ignition has failed twice. The bluetooth freezes often and I can't make calls, or change music. I must shut the car off and restart. I've owned Honda's before, this vehicle will likely be my last. I'm now looking at Totota for my next car. ***End Update*** I readeral of the reviews before considering this vehicle, I didn't even know it existed until I shopped around. I am coming from a Pilot where we drove the wheels off of it and went on many adventures. I noted that people either loved or hated this car. I think this is a car many people will have missed and once it's out of production people will look back and appreciate it for what it is. Fortunately, it is not a high demand vehicle so I was able to get a great deal to move the inventory from the dealer. We are an active family who does road trips and plenty of cycling. 15 years of driving trucks or vehicles that drive like a truck I was ready to get into a sedan style but with some cargo space for gear. The small SUV's were suggested but at the end of the day I didn't like the style or set up of feeling like I was driving a little box or a Pilot that was shrunk. I really liked the idea of a wagon or hatchback to load our gear and go. This vehicle drives well and I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything that we like to do. The up side is better gas milage and a more comfortable ride. Plenty of room in the front as well as for the back seat passengers. The roof line may be a bit low for tall people back there. Enough cargo for what we do and the hidden compartments are nice. I opted for the roof rack for bikes, which can be noisy with the roof open but close the sliding roof liner and the interior is very quite, especially compared to the Pilot or the Tacoma I drove. Only two things that I do care for is fist the audio sound. The speakers are weak and don't have a great sound quality. Second, to get a 2" receiver hitch to carry additional bikes or cargo is near impossible. I know you can't tow with this vehicle but It's a miss for a cross over vehicle not to allow these for people who carry bikes or already have a rack. Fortunately, I found a manufacture that can do a 2" receiver for this car that I may try. Finally, the rear visibility takes some getting use to because it is split, but it's not too bad. All in all I'm very pleased with this vehicle. Update: April 2016: still very happy with the car. Completed a 1500 mile road trip with four of us and four bike including a 2" receiver hitch mount bike rack and all went well. The car carried the gear well with no drag to the engine. Enough cargo room and all were comfortable.

Engine is BAD
The ride and feel of the car is amazing. It is a quiet ride and the sound system is good. The AWD is great and with good tires it is a tank in the snow. I have had the backup camera replaced and the starter replaced twice (known issue). Then the engine blew (valves bent over etc) at 79,500 miles. The dealer said the oil was overfilled by 1.5 quarts and blamed the issue on that. This is not possible because I still had 1/2 quart in the 5 quart jug and religiously changed the oil every 5000 miles with synthetic oil and mobil 1 filter. In researching I found the fuel pump is too high pressure and can result in gas blow-by and getting into the oil. This is a known issue for this car engine. I was still under a mileage warranty but 9 days out of the extended warranty I purchased and Honda would do NOTHING. I will never buy another Honda no matter what.
