The vibrations are real

I bought a 2015 Honda CRV Touring in December of 2014. I noticed the vibrations shortly after buying the car. I have 12K miles on the car now. The vibrations have gradually become worse, and I'm getting extremely annoyed by them. It's not only at idle when the vibrations occur. It's also at any speed while accelerating gradually. The whole car shudders, the vibrations resonate through the entire car, and my entire body. They seem to get very bad at highway speeds (70+ mph). It's to the point where I dread driving this car, and I dread pressing the gas pedal at all. It's by far the worst driving experience I've ever had, especially for a new car (that I paid well over 30K for). I have finally had enough, so I'm going to start voicing my frustration. If I could get a refund on this car, I would in a heartbeat. I'm hoping Honda finds a solution, but I'm certainly not holding my breath on that. I have debated posting this, because I know all these vibration complaints will kill the resale of 2015 CRV's. So I may be stuck with this lemon for a while, unless I want to take a huge monetary loss on a resale. If Honda can't come up with a fix, or compensate the CRV owners in some way, this will be my last Honda ever. I should note, if not for the vibrations, I would be mostly happy with the car. Since I'm here, I'll make a few other comments on the car. I don't like the low beam headlights. They have a very sharp cut-off line on top. It makes if very difficult to see on rural roads, especially those that are curvy and hilly. On some hills/curves, you can only see 20 yards ahead. I don't think this is an issue specific to CRV's though. Other Hondas, and other makes of cars, also have this sharp cut-off line. The Collision Mitigation System (CMS). This is the system that (supposedly) detects a potentially collision, and will warn the driver via an audible warning, light breaking, or heavy breaking. I was driving to work one day, going around a curve to the right on a two lane highway, with traffic coming the other way. Out of nowhere, my CRV beeped, and applied light breaking. It scared the crap out of me. The CMS radar erroneously detected a potential collision, because of the angle of the curve I'm sure. If I was on icy roads, this could have sent my car out of control. I was tempted to disable the CMS system (you do have that option via a push-button on the dashboard). I have not disabled it yet, but if this happens again, I will seriously consider it.

2015 Honda CRV- ENGINE FAILURE

My father just Bought a 2015 HONDA CRV Touring model which is their highest end. The interioir and exterior design are great. However, the ENGINE FAILED after having it only 3 days. The car was bran new and came off the lot with less than 7 miles on it. We traded in our 2014 CRV which we loved for this new lemon. Now we are fighting for a refund to get our old car back but they are not letting us return it. It has now been 10 days. We noticed vibration in the vehicle at medium speeds (30-50mph) and then some studdering at stop signs and red lights. Turns out there is something wrong with the engine. When we brought the car back they were not surprised, we are not the first to report this

I would save your money and shop other brands

Simply put, I would save your money and aggressively shop other makes & models. I really tried to fall in love with this car for over a year but Honda missed the target by many hundreds of miles! First and foremost, it has the dreaded vibration issue that Honda has now quietly admitted to and issued a TSB to dealers - only it moves the vibration from lower speeds to higher ones so the problem isn't really fixed. But I can't dock them for that because I was aware of this going into the purchase. I have owned this car for well over a year and I have found the build quality to keep progressively getting worse. Every time I drive this car I notice a new squeak, rattle or vibration. It has been taken into the dealership many times for things such as brake shoes makes noise when changing directions, on occasion the starter will make a grinding noise on start up, the AC in this car barely cools the car in the summer, the driver's master window switch needed replacing because the auto up/down feature would not work intermittently, the fan speed will not work on the highest setting at random, and finally the interior sounds like it is falling apart during normal driving because the interior materials seem to be so cheap. Now when I mentioned these things to the dealership I was advised "this is all normal" - go figure! My favorite though, and I haven't mentioned this to the dealership yet because I'm watching this myself - the oil reading on the dipstick keeps getting progressively lower each time i check it. In other words I have reason to believe it may be burning oil. Every time I unscrew the oil fill cap, it is always white and milky underneath - it is as if coolant is mixing with the oil. I'm only suspecting this because the coolant overflow tank was almost empty until the dealer filled it during an oil change. This is my conclusion and advice to you: In theory, this car is phenomenal! Good looks, great gas mileage (yeah bull sh** Honda), plenty of storage space and AWD - in theory. In reality, you as the consumer should run far away from this car and realize that what Honda is doing is standing behind a well known reputation for quality and reliability while mass producing garbage and selling it off to consumers. Honda needed to quickly update the CR-V in 2015 to be competitive which other CUV's on the market. Unfortunately they rushed the CR-V through the design phase and onto production so now the consumer who buys this product is left to work out the design flaws and bugs that Honda should have addressed before producing this vehicle. My parents owned a 2005 Honda Pilot (excellent vehicle) with almost 200K when it was traded for a 2015 Honda Pilot (very well made vehicle) - so we are a Honda family! When I was shopping for my next vehicle it was a toss-up between a Ford Explorer (Had a 1996 at the time that I loved!) or the 2015 Honda CR-V. I went with the Honda because I figured I would have no issues with reliability and you could get a top-level Touring for around 30k - more car for your money. I regret that purchase decision each time I get behind the wheel or see a 2015/2016 Ford Explorer zoom by me. I'm not saying Honda as a whole company is bad, but this 2015 CR-V (and I'm assuming the 2016 as well) are absolute garbage and I would highly suggest you shop other makes and models because there are much better options out there.

Rattles; lots of cheap plastic; lousy mileage

I've had this vehicle for 26 months & 13000 miles of mixed driving. It's been getting 22.5 mpg, & I've been babying it w/eco mode on. If you drive it "normally", it drops to 22 in eco mode, & 21 w/o eco mode. Unless you have super quick reflexes to hit the eco button to disable eco mode in an emergency, leave it off or the car has virtually no pickup. The interior of the doors is all cheap plastic, and there's very little in the way of support behind the door panels. I tend to lean my left leg against the door when I drive, and it's already starting to "give". The door panels rattle and the dealer says it's "normal". Really? The console box is small compared to my Camry & the USB/HDMI connections are in there; if you keep stuff wired up, there isn't much usable storage in there. Little pickup but handles well. The tech package isn't ready for prime time. Lane departure warning gives more false alarms than legit and I keep it off. Lane keep assist (self steering) works ok on a clean road with freshly painted lines, but any little thing makes it lose sight of the road and it constantly warns you to take over full control. More of a distraction once you get past the novelty of it. Pass on the tech package: $5000 and it is not Tesla's or Google's self driving car, not even close Update: Jan 7, 2017: It's been a while and the review stands as-written. I leave the eco-mode off full time as I've had a few occasions to need to accelerate rapidly and there is simply no time to find that eco button. The lane-departure-warning is wrong more than it's right. The lane-keep-assist requires you to spend more time looking at the dash than the road since it's constantly giving the the can't-see-the-lines-on-the-road-please-take-over warning. Also, the mileage is not even remotely close to what Honda advertised. Update: Jan 10, 2017: One final thought to consider when purchasing this - or any other - vehicle. Most of my trips are short (less than 10 miles). I just got back from a two day 900 mile trip and discovered something else. The front seats have what I'll call "wings" that are sculpted up and inward on the base, and seat back - presumably to provide support, or help keep you in place during an accident. I'm a pretty big guy and on any long trip they tend to put a lot of pressure on your thighs and back. I assumed it was because of my size. My brother, who is as skinny as can be, bought a Lexus with the same style seats. He has a 95 mile daily drive and within 2 weeks he traded in the car because the seats made him uncomfortable. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but you'll only know if it works for you personally if you think about it *consciously* while sitting in the vehicle. It's not something you'll notice on a test drive, but something that you should consider when purchasing ANY vehicle.
