Not what Honda said it would do

Bought 2015 Honda CRV LX February 28, 2015. Started out using ECON, but the bogging down and vibration was just too much for me, so I switched it off. I only get 23 MPG city, 25 MPG highway. The sticker says it will get 34 MPG highway. I had a 2006 Honda Civic 9 yrs. and it got 40 MPG highway, so I am extremely disappointed in the gas mileage of the new CRV. I needed more room for traveling. I also noticed there is a lawsuit to Honda for the vibration in the motor of the CRV. I hope there will be a recall in the near future for the motor.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS CAR!!! UPDATED

Update 2020: I got rid of this car. Best decision of my life. No more violent shaking while at red lights. Had to cut my losses and buy new car with a 6 year amount of payments to get rid of it but I’m glad I got rid of this car. 2019: I have had this car over 2 years, basically stuck with it after I tried addressing Honda with my issue of the car’s RPM issue. It still shakes violently at red lights and I am at 79k miles. I won’t be buying Honda ever again. I bought mine pre-owned and it had 16,000 miles on it. When I went to drive it with no AC on due to cooler temperatures, it started to shake like it needed a tune up while in drive at a red light. The idle is very rough once it gets to 500-600rpms while at a red light. After doing research, I found thousands of complaints for the same issue from other Honda owners. There is a couple class action lawsuits. I WISH I WOULD HAVE SEEN BEFORE BUYING MINE. I would have bought a different car. Also, when I am going down a hill the transmission revs and gets stuck at 3000-4000RPM and then bucks as I get to even terrain. It’s scary and I don’t feel safe. Also, I have been to a couple Honda dealers and the TSB was performed but the car shakes worse! I even took videos to take to a lawyer. Honda claims my shaking car is “operating as designed”. UNACCEPTABLE and please don’t make the same mistake as me by buying a Honda! UPDATE 10/31/18: I really hate this car. I have done all required and suggested maintenance for this car. It violently shakes while I am in drive at red lights in drive gear at low RPM. This car is a lemon. It got worse and and now even if I turn up AC air fan it is still noticeable to passengers and myself, the car continues to shake. Honda claims that this is the way the car was designed to operate. I WILL NEVER BUY A HONDA AGAIN. If I could I would get rid of this car.

Unfortunately I bought this car feb 2015 but , i fell vibration all the time. Dealership advisor just told me there's nothing we can do to vibration issue. That was a mistake in the design. Don't waste your money. Disappointed

Software update was betrayal of customers

I bought this SUV (2015) new especially for the MPG--it was rated at 26-33. The 2016 were 25-31. So I went with the 2015 model because I travel a lot. I LOVED LOVED LOVED this vehicle--MPG were more than rated--handled great, Interior was perfect for me. What happened???? A software update ruined everything and I hate Honda now. I did the update as recommended and picked my vehicle up. As I was leaving the dealership, I thought the break was on--No--so I checked the gear. It was noticeably dragging. I immediately saw that my MPG went down by 5 per gallon. FIVE! I took it back to the dealer and the techs told me (alternately) there was nothing wrong with the car or software, it was: 1. uneven tread on my tires, 2. out of alignment 3. my imagination 4. the fact I carried dogs (a 4-pound Pom and 8-pound Russell), 5. that I had books in back, 6. I had to watch my RPMs, or 7. I pulled a small 300 lb trailer. Finally one of the repair guys admitted it was the software update. He found out (Honda didn't have the integrity to let their dealerships know the problem) from his tech friend in California. In Cal they have to file a new registration for mileage if anything changes and this software update does lower the MPG--so it is filed in California--DO YOUR RESEARCH--whatever the MPG rating, it goes down by 4 or 5--they are no longer valid and Honda doesn't have the integrity to change their ads. I am surprised that most people are complaining about vibration. I hadn't noticed that. I bought the car for the gas mileage and now they took that away with an update and then lied by omission. I hated listening to the techs tell me it was me...I haven't talked to the dealership about it yet but I will and I am very frustrated. On the Canadian CRV forum, they talked about the update a lot and most owners saw the reduction in gas mileage just like me. (NOTE:) A year later and I am so pissed at Honda for doing this--selling it under one mileage rating and then updating software and losing the mileage advantage. It says a lot about the integrity of Honda--about nil. (NOTE 2) 3 year update: the software may be wearing out a touch--I gain a couple MPG back. took 2 years! I love the way the car drives--still very upset with Honda for continued deception. As a result, I probably will not buy another Honda--maybe Hyundai or Ford. UPDATE 4.22.22: The car is running well. I think the software is wearing off and I have regained a few miles per gal. I won't get rid of the car until I have to as I'm getting about 31 now. that's acceptable --but for years after the software update that we not the case. I still don't want another one from Honda because of the colossal lie.

7600 miles and still under warranty ( thank heavens). On I-95 in Delaware, headed for my son's in PA when transmission dies! In middle lane of 5 lane highway. Truck driver behind me pushes me to shoulder at great personal risk. Towed to dealer who got me rental. Ordered new transmission and I picked it up on Thursday. Dealer (Martin Honda was great) but Honda disappinted me. I had a 2007 CRV which I loved! If this tranny busts it will be my last Honda!
