Used 2010 Honda CR-V EX 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
Everything I Wanted
My CR-V is a great car; it is actually the first car I have ever purchased on my own. It is an all around great ride; a week after I bought it, I made a trip to Tahoe from LA - it was excellent! Gas mileage is great considering the size of the car and the terrain that I drive in (i.e. lots of mountain driving for snowboarding). And the traction control is FANTASTIC! I didn't even need chains this season!
3000 mile review.
So far, so good. The CR-V definitely leads the small SUV class in terms of refinement and build quality. No question there. As noted elsewhere (everywhere?), the low-end power (torque) is lacking on the CR-V; however, once you're at cruising speed the power is adequate for normal, safe, efficient driving maneuvers. The only thing that would have made me second guess the purchase is if I lived in a hilly or mountainous region--those are the times when you can really feel/hear the 4 cylinder working hard to propel the vehicle's substantial weight. Otherwise, the CR-V is a pleasure to drive. It feels nimble, reliable, and inspires a feeling of safety on the road.

Excellent Value
The best small SUV for the money. Safety features, better looks, more power. I compared the RAV4, Forrester, and Escape. The CRV won hands down. Plus the resale value and reliability exceeds the others. The CRV is more polished, looks timeless, and is easy on the wallet. I sold a 2001 CRV for $7500. That's value. That's another reason why I bought another CRV. Plus it looked better than the last generation. Just change the oil every 3K and you're good to go.
Sports car or family hauler...
I was looking to downsize from a Honda Odyssey to something that could still haul a bicycle but was easier to park and maneuver. So I tried out a Mazda5 which was nice but claustrophobic feeling. The CR-V felt more open and cheerful inside. If you are looking for a cushy ride, this is not the car for you, however, if you want sports car type handling, this is it. The steering is light, direct and quick. The transmission shifts very smoothly and easily engages a lower gear without having to mash the pedal to the floor. To me, this is the Mazda Miata of SUV's. My fuel economy so far has averaged just over 25mpg and that is with 40-50% highway driving.
Love my Honda CRV still-2010 but only about 80,000
