Used 2007 Honda CR-V LX 4dr SUV AWD (2.4L 4cyl 5A) Consumer Reviews
Great car for the money
Got the CRV LX 4WD for my wife and the baby. Nice little car - easy to drive, enough space for 2 car seats plus a small adult in the back. The car has some great little touches inside, like the reclining rear seats, folding center console, and rear doors that open almost 90 degrees. The "conversation mirror" is kind of a worthless gimmick, however. Two things surprised me, one good, one bad. First, the ride is rougher than I expected, especially in the back seat. However, the little 4 banger they put in this thing was adequate for city driving and a short trip on the highway. With two babies and 3 adults in the car I had no problem getting up to highway speed and merging safely.
Rear End failed in 7 days
After 5 days the rear end started making noise on turns, i took it back to the dealer on the seventh day. They replaced the rear end differential pump and clutch pack kit. I should have bought an American made car.

2007 CR-V LX AWD
Very happy with this car. I can get 30MPG on the highway, 22 around town, and about 25 to 26 overall. Comfortable, Safe, and the AWD is a dream in the snow. Large comfy cabin, and more space than I know what to do with. Interior is much nicer than anything else I looked at. Exterior styling is a bit strange, but that's not why I bought the car.
Consumer Beware
I bought this car for the long haul. What Honda fails to tell anyone is they installed a faulty rear differential and rear suspension and that is why the tires wear out by 20,000 miles. Dealerships and main office refuse to fix this problem and your complaints fall on deaf ears. I'm sorry to say the problem still exists in the newer models as well! I'm dumping this car asap and will NEVER own another Honda again.
Another great Honda
We haven't had a Honda for a while - last one was a Civic in the 90s. I loved it then and I think the CRV will be even better. We bought the car as a dinghy for our motorhome as it is one of only a few cars that can be towed '4 down' without mods. It was recommended by my motorhome friends. I am surprised at how nice and fun it is to drive around the city. I am averaging 27-28 MPG with careful driving - mostly highway on my SoCal commute. It's too new to comment on the AWD but next year we retire back to the land of ice and snow in Canada.
