I ve had more HONDAS thru the years than a NORMAL person would mention....This is for newly retired folks with a 16 Odessy SE for People moving..If you want overall bang for your buck value wise..and use modern smart phone GPS apps...get an Accord Sport !! In the week we've had our SONIC GREY CIVIC TOURING HB..here are my impressions...WORST FEATURE ....CIVIC HORNS literally BLOW !! They are SO WEAK and ineffective they will put you in the GRAVEYARD IF YOU EVER NEED TO BE HEAD !!! Cmon HONDA WTF !! As I said I walked out of Accord touring V6 to Civic Touring...a step Down but not a big one...all the whistles and bells..Nice 560 watts entertainment system...Engine CVT and real world performance is very nice...Hot Summer right now..A/C is very good but NOT GREAT..HANDLES very nice..definitely hear tire noise vs Accord but time will tell..EVERYTIME you're out on the HIGHWAY someone what's to play JOHNNY BOY RACER and drive like an AHOLE...Last time I had this game being played was with Mustang...Build quality fit and finish PAINT seem GOOD...No reason not to get 40 plus on road at highway speed...I THINK YOU COULD RUN IT LIKE YA STOLE IT ALL DAY LONG AND GET 20 plus...have used PADDLE shifters on other Hondas...likeable feature...PREMIUM GAS RECOMMENDED...mix it up every other or third tank should be fine..I'm a BIG DUDE and I fit in drivers AOK...pass front OK...back FOGETABOUTIT..Wife likes the MINI COOPERS...so part of the puzzle in purchase....If you can keep your foot off the gas and make smooth driving you can get AMAZING mileage with V6 sedan..non touring..have gotten 40 plus and Hi thirties when highway driving with the rat pack...I think this will be a welcome addition to the stable...THE EXT SEDAN and EX HB are very nice but several grand less...PS ACCORD INSURANCE is LESS than CIVICS....look before you leap !! A veering of the road opinion but these are initial observations....PS Wife likes mucho PSS more blind spots than Accord also..PSSS the 1.5 turbo will go in the Honda hall of fame.... 2020 Update..lease up ...replaced with identical car...new one has better headlights and lots more sound insulation...plus I had equity in lease and knocked payment down SIXTY BUCKS..LOVE BOTH 17 and 20 sport touring hatchback civic..

Your safety isn’t worth the price

2017 Honda Civic LX 4dr Sedan w/Honda Sensing (2.0L 4cyl CVT)

I have problems with the Honda safety features and cruise control. The car’s sensors are constantly sensoring other things on the road rather than other vehicles and when it actually does sense cars the vehicle completely stops. The randomly stops when I am driving. I have taken the car in to get check by the dealership I bought it from on several occasions, but it supposedly passes the computer. I gone to other dealerships to trade it in for another vehicle, but everyone says that the car is not worth the price and they cannot help me. Be smart and stay away from this vehicle. The dealership will try to offer you “the top of the line accessories”, but honestly they aren’t worth putting you life at risk and the dealership doesn’t deliver on its promise.

The technology is too complicated. My 2003 Honda Accord was much easier to use. The navigation absolutely sucks in this new car. The navigation was so much better in my 2003 Honda Accord. For example, in my 2003 Honda Accord, I could press a button to repeat the directions. This new navigation unit does not have that repeat button. Also, my old navigation unit had the previous trips stored so you could pull up a previous trip. This new navigation system does not have that so you have to continue to enter the address. Also, the stupid navigation unit continues to give wrong directions. I paid a lot of money for this navigation unit, and it was a waste of money!!! The radio is digital and is difficult to use. You have to press the buttons over and over and then often changes to a station you do not want. Very frustrating!

1.5T= POWAAAA!

2017 Honda Civic LX 4dr Hatchback (1.5L 4cyl Turbo CVT)

This is just a first impression/ short term review so far.Civic Hatchback LX Orchid White. I only had the car about 2 weeks and have 465mi. My work is just north of 1 mile away and I just want to break it in already! For a base model car its not very... basic. Although the wheels aren't the prettiest, I appreciate that Honda didn't slap on a set of steelies w ugly hub caps. I originally wanted a Sonic Grey since my neighbor has one and it looks fantastic! Anyway, the wheels- they look best on the orchid white. I am actually not a big fan of the ex wheels so I am glad those aren't on my car. What I like- 1.5T= POWAAAA! light weight, Piano Black trim, back up camera, huge side mirrors, practicality. What I don't like- OEM Bulbs ( halogen in a projector= dim lighting), arm rest padding ( they couldn't just use soft plastic instead of cloth? ), rear window is always foggy, no foot or hand brake, muffler tips or lack thereof ( dual exhaust and they're hidden... why?), front windows are slow going up and down, Dirt easily gets between the windows. I've already ordered a set of Phillips Crystal Vision from Amazon and that will pretty much remedy my biggest gripe about the car. What I've done to it- purchased floor mats to match the beige interior, seat covers, window visors. What I plan to do- 35-55% tint, muffler tips, OEM mud guards, brighter headlight bulbs. It may seem like I have a few gripes about this car but at the end of the day; It's the best car I've ever had. If anything, I would say that the LX is actually the best bang for your money within the Civic and hatchback segment.

The new Civic hatchback looks nice, but that's about it. It is very difficult to get in and out of. The seats are not very comfortable. I realize that it is a small car, but the interior is cramped compared to other small cars. It seems as if there is not enough sound insulation in the car, as the engine is very noisy. The climate controls are not readily accessible: the fan speed control is in a separate menu within the touch screen and is not centrally located. (A button or knob would be easier to use.) The cloth on the cargo cover looked to be snagged/uneven. The car is very over priced at $27,000+. You can buy a hybrid vehicle, which is more economic, for less than this non-hybrid Civic.

I bought this new and sold it a year later. The bluetooth does not work, gets hung up or does not work at all. The brakes on this car are awful and you get lower back pain from the seat on long rides. This is a commuter car and that is it, add to that $120 oil changes, yes Hondas are now expensive to maintain. Also you can only get the high MPGs with mid grade fuel. I would go for a Volkswagen honestly, this Civic was not designed well. I would rather have better brakes for the winter than fake giant plastic air intakes.

I changed my 2011 Audi A4 for this car. It is absolutely awesome to drive it. The acceleration is very responsive, very little turbo Lag. Nothing compared to my previous A4, which had a huge turbo lag. This car drives 3 times better than my previous Audi, really. The interior is very nice, very good design. There are a few stock things that really suck on the Hatch Sport 2017. The headlights are very average. The sound could be A LOT better. The Bluetooth system is not great, but these are all things that can be upgraded/modified. The mods on this care are super reasonable, price wise. This car is super easy to modify, you can do it yourself, like I did. I do get a lot on complements on this car. Very happy for my purchase, I could not be happier. The stock 18"s are very cool, I love them. They do make the ride a bit hard, but it is also part of the suspension, which is very sporty.

Better than I expected

No maintenance issues with the car so far; we have 700 miles on the car. The turbo engine and CVT combination is a *great* bit of engineering - superior low-end torque *and* great mileage. There is a tiny bit of turbo lag, but for daily commuting and long distance trips it's a non-issue. We test drove a Mazda3 Grand Touring before the Civic and that engine had to be flogged to get the same acceleration. And unlike my friend's 2.5i Subaru Outback, this engine/CVT does not annoy me with constant RPM droning. The CVT seems to find the right RPM for the moment. Unlike my 2006 Highlander which has horrible down-shift lag when passing other cars, this car "downshifts" *right now*. The car handles well, not as good as a 2017 GTI, but definitely better than the other compact cars I've owned (2000 Accord, 2004 Corolla, 2010 Corolla) and tested. Cornering turn-in is much better than expected for a front-wheel-drive car. The driver seat is one of the best fits ever for me and I'm six feet tall. On the other hand, the passenger seat sits too low in the car for both me and my wife. The entertainment system took a while to figure out and is a bit quirky. The user interface could be better. Interior fit and finish is great. Overall great car. One of our best car buys ever.

Ads note 8 way driver seat adjustments and show side lumbar lever, but the car doesn't have it.
