Used 2006 Honda Civic Consumer Reviews
Still going strong
I have 49k on my car and have never had a problem with it. I still make sure to keep up with the maintenance. The ride is ok but can be rough sometimes. I'll probably keep it another year or two as long as I don't have to sink any money into it.
WOW!
WOW! This baby is fun to drive! She gets great gas mileage, is very comfortable, and roomier than it appears on the outside. Looks very stylish sitting in my driveway and out on the road. Only complaint: The parking brake is placed in an odd place and my knee does set on it. Additional gripe, but not complaint...the EX comes "XM READY" (XM's words not Honda's) which basically means XM Ready to take your $600 to install the rest of the system. And since Honda has a proprietary connector, and you have to rip out the dash and the back seats they will pretty much get their money if you want it done right.
I love the car...excep...
I would recommend this car to anyone...It has made driving fun again for me...plus I'm in love with the Honda reliability and styling...The car is great on gas, and also has a great looking interior and exterior. One problem though...After only 900 miles, I notice the the car is pulling to the right...not terribly, but too much for a car that is basically brand new. I brought it to the Honda dealership...they convinced me it was normal as long as you could go straight for 3 car lengths or 6 seconds without touching the wheel I left feeling unsatisfied, because I think a new car should go straight for a long time if you're on a straight road and the wheels are alligned properly.
Lots of problems, some under warranty, some not
The paint started peeling after a few years. Recall notice not given until out of warranty. Had to pay $800 to repaint the hood and trunk. Every Honda Civic I've owned 1996 (224k trade-in), 2004 (190k died), 2006 (still running) had the passenger side window motor fail. However, the automatic transmission is good. Exhaust problem fixed by Honda but it failed again and was a few days over that warranty. On the 2004 Civic the transmission failed and had to be replaced by Honda after only 2k miles, so I'm sensitive about that. I'll try an Accord in a few years after I get to 250K or the car wears out.

Defective car
Had a Honda for a few years now and everything goes wrong with it. The bumper is low so it keeps coming off. The visors have been replaced several times, it is slow when stepping on the gas. Keeps breaking down. Have had several letters of something defective and have to go and get it fixed at the dealership. Will never buy a Honda civic ever.
