Used 2006 Honda Civic Consumer Reviews
No better car for the money
We were looking for a family car to replace our 1998 Honda Accord when we ran across this one. We also had driven the Saturn Ion 3 and the Volkswagen Golf. This car outshined the Accord, the Golf, and the Saturn in every way. It is very fun to drive, looks, great and has a family feel and a sporty feel at the same time. Honda has really done it with this vehicle. The gas mileage is excellent. The other auto manufacturers are light years behind with comparable vehicles. I would buy another one today! This one was for my wife but I want one for myself now!
What a great Ride!
We love our new Honda! -- From the incredible interior, to the futuristic styling of the exterior, this car is great. Our first road trip we loaded up our two kids and headed from Greenville, SC to Philadelphia PA! -- We used a whopping 4 tanks of gas (this would have been one way in our old wagon) and had plenty of room for our luggage, kids, junk, etc. This car is more spacious and comfortable than previous hondas. The Navigation system is awesome...we ran into traffic in DC, chose "Avoid Route" and drove right around a 2 hour delay -- and lost no time at all! What a great RIDE!
Quite Happy
I just bought this car slightly used. I went from a 99 Civic Hatchback and proceeded through a difficult decision process and chose this coupe. Factors and thoughts: I am 33 and live in LA. I think the FIT is the perfect car, but test drove one and considered it strangely a step DOWN from my 99 Civic. Horrible crisis. Also considered: Mazda 3 hatch (family car), Mini Cooper (too hip, limited, expensive and faulty), Scions (too young for me), VW Rabbit (just boring), Prius (boring and expensive). I think that I made the best choice of the available cars. Comments: fun to drive, handling tight, build quality is great, the seats are VERY comfortable, acceleration is astoundingly smooth.
Worth a divorce!
After test-driving a Civic Hybrid my wife threatened to divorce me if I bought one--until she test drove it herself. We own this and an '06 Ridgeline. Love Hondas and as always the quality is superb. Mileage isn't quite as good (43-47 mpg average) with my lead foot but I actually prefer the acceleration and power of the hybrid to a regular EX. CVT trans is great and never loses power like a standard automatic at shift points, even at speed (I can pass at 70+mph w/o problems). No loss of space in the trunk or interior from batteries. Navi system is definitely worth the extra $$$ especially if you are directionally challenged. Be ready for lots of stares and questions from people!!
Car of the year
Fantastic, fun car to drive--have owned suv's for years, gas was driving me to the poor house on these vehicles, not on my honda hybrid, averaging 49 mpg, yeah!
