Used 2006 Honda Civic Consumer Reviews
No comparisons
Honda's new Civic blows away it's competition. I've been researching and test driving cars for a year and new withing 3 seconds of getting into the car that it was for me. It's just a SOLID car all around. Comfortable, reliable, safe, spacious, good gas mileage, good looking, will keep it's value. I don't know why I'd ever need a nicer car even though I will be richer in the future.
Let 'er scream
With about 25,000 miles on the car, and having read most of the online reviews of this car I wanted to add my two cents worth. The car is great as a small performance car. Handling is superb, it is quite fast. The two tiered dash takes a lot to get used to. The throttle hang that many complained of began to disappear at around 15,000 miles and now is mostly non-existent unless she's cold. The third gear notchyness that many complained of was noticeable when the car was cold during the first winter but this winter has not appeared. Honda has a new gear lube for this tranny for winter driving. Overall, the car is a gas to drive, is very comfortable for two, very high build quality.
Best Civic Ever
It's simply the best honda civic ever build. It's so much fun to drive this car. Everywhere I go people is looking at it. I sold my old 2000 civic EX for this one and this have so much more power and feels so much more sporty.
Poor quality of new Civic
We have driven the 06 Civic EX for about 1500 miles; half in city, the other half on Interstate highway. We have encountered several items that indicate poor quality control in this car. 1) The car is not level (right side 1/4-1/2 inch higher than the left). Dealer fixed it by adjusting left front strut, but problem returned in a week. Dealer will try to fix again when take car in for item #2. 2) Driver side front door not aligned--goes to dealer's body shop later in week for adjustment. 3) Interior trim loose on passenger side.
Car of the year
Fantastic, fun car to drive--have owned suv's for years, gas was driving me to the poor house on these vehicles, not on my honda hybrid, averaging 49 mpg, yeah!
