It's a blast

So I was not really looking to get a Civic until I drove the new Si. I have had classic Chevys over the years and they have all been over 300 hp. I know the the SI is not 300 but it still has guts for a 4 banger. The handling of this car is great right off the lot. I have yet to change anything to do with the suspension and I don't belive that I will. I did put 18" wheels on it with better tires. It made a pretty big difference.

I bought my Civic in November of 2005, one of the first 8th gen civics in my area. It been a great car, very reliable and perform well. With the exception of check engine light for and 02 sensor twice, I have not had it in the shop for anything. It still looks great.

Good MPG even doin' 75MPH

We traded off the gas guzzler Expedition for this communter. It handles very well and gets about 36 MPG average on the HWY running 75-80 MPH. The interior is basic but for the price I can't complain. The seats aren't as comfortable on long trips, and the trim is plastic for the most part. I am concerned with the drive train in the automatic as it sometimes feels as if there is play in going from off the gas to back on. I figure it's under warranty and if it needs service our dealer will take care of us.

Great car, but . . .

This car fits me like a glove. It's easy to handle, and is very responsive. Visibility is good for me because of its size. I'm a woman and although my husband and I have an '03 Honda Accord, which I love, I found the visibility poor for me and it was just too big for me to handle. The Civic is the perfect size for me. There's only one thing I find not to my liking: On a sunny day, there's a distracting reflection and glare on the windshield from the dashboard, maybe because the interior is a light color (ivory). I have the same problem on the back window. I wish I had been able to pick a different (darker) color for the interior, but I had no idea the light color would be a problem.

With about 25,000 miles on the car, and having read most of the online reviews of this car I wanted to add my two cents worth. The car is great as a small performance car. Handling is superb, it is quite fast. The two tiered dash takes a lot to get used to. The throttle hang that many complained of began to disappear at around 15,000 miles and now is mostly non-existent unless she's cold. The third gear notchyness that many complained of was noticeable when the car was cold during the first winter but this winter has not appeared. Honda has a new gear lube for this tranny for winter driving. Overall, the car is a gas to drive, is very comfortable for two, very high build quality.
