Honda's keep you safe, great family car
I have had my 2006 Honda since it was brand new. It has been my favorite car I have ever owned. It holds its retail value like no other. I called it my baby, I always wanted one when I was younger. Well I have the luxury of being able to say my baby saved my life on Tuesday when a 74 year old lady ran a red light and tboned me. My side and curtain air bags went off. My baby, my Honda saved my life, she didn't fair too well :( but she did her job like she was suppose to. After everything is settled headed to buy my second Honda Accord.
220k trouble free miles
12 years of trouble free driving. This car just keeps going and going. It doesn't burn any oil at 220k. I have only replaced wear items. I have averaged 31 -32 mpg for the life of the car 70% highway 30% city. This is the best car I have owned.

Totally worth it :)
I bought mine used 2 yrs ago with 48K miles. Today it has 103K miles and I have never had a problem with it .The only thing I have done is change the battery. Drives excellent and is very reliable. It gets about 29 to a gallon on average. Great car :)
A great first car for teenagers
This is my first car that my parents bought for me as a graduation gift. I couldn't be any happier with it! I average around 30 miles per gallon and it only costs around $30 dollars to completely fuel over here in SoCal. The leather still looks very nice after 10 years and the interior has a timeless design. The 4 cylinder engine has just enough pep for most people and the revs sound great at higher RPMs. I do enjoy speed though and wish it had a V6 but I'll just wait for that when I can buy a car on my own. The exterior design is also nice. I still get comments from friends guessing that it looks a few years newer because of its design. I also really enjoy the hydraulic power steering on this car over the new cars that have electronic power steering. There's much more weight to the wheel when turning and it feels better tuned for a more natural drive. One complaint I have is that there is no AUX input to play music from my Ipod. Come on Honda, you already have a factory radio that is AUX ready! If you're on a budget but want a reliable and somewhat luxurious car, I would definitely look at this and this is 10 years after it was released!

Great Work horse 347,000 miles and still going
I bought my car new in November of 2005. I drive over 33,000 miles a year (yes I know I am not carbon friendly). Anyway this car has been amazing. Great for the everyday commute and the vacation getaway. I live in the mountains and work in L.A. so most winters I have to run on chains 30-40 minutes each morning and each evening during the winter. Other cars and 4 wheel drive trucks have gotten stuck or crashed but NOT my Honda. In the 347,000 miles I have had very little trouble. I have replaced: right rear wheel bearing (once) one electric fan motor one air conditioning High pressure valve one starter At the 310,000 mile mark she started using a little oil. Now at 347,000 I need to add 1 to 1.5 quarts of oil in between oil changes. I still get 30 mpg and everything- radio, gauges, ac and heater, heated seats still work perfectly. I just looked at new cars and because of there price I am sticking with this one. My mechanic has said "this car rides better than most of the 100,000 mile cars he works on" and because I park underground and clay and wax the car regularly the paint is still in amazing shape. Great Great Car Thank You Honda!!

EXTREMELY RELIABLE!!! BEST CAR I'VE EVER OWNED!
I bought this car used after totalling my 2002 toyota camry. Being a toyota guy most of my life I wanted to get a toyota again but i knew hondas are also comprable. I bought it in 2009 with 43k. Now, 8 years later at 219k I have only changed the battery and the starter. The rest has been regular maintenance (brakes, rotors, etc). Motor still runs very strong as well as the transmission. If you didn't look at the odometer you would think this car had 100k on it. If you can find a used one that was well taken care of, buy it, it doesn't have many fancy features but it wont let you down.

Great Car
We bought this car in 2008 with 15k, it currently has 120k. It has been a fantastically reliable car. Other than normal maintenance the only thing I've had to repair was the starter. I do all my own work and it has been a very easy car to work on. Changing the timing belt, it has the easiest to read timing marks of any car I've worked on. It's those little things that you don't usually see that tell you it has had a lot of engineering put into it and it shows. I fully expect this car to last for another 120k easily.
Awesome Car
My Honda just rolled over 95,000 miles and it still drives like a brand new car. The only problems it's ever had was needing a new starter at 90,000 miles and new battery last year. My favorite part about the car is that it has a lot of power and accelerates very quickly when you need it to, (5.8s) to 60 which is pretty quick for a midsize sedan. My only complaints are that the low profile tires don't give a very smooth ride and theres no aux cord or bluetooth to connect a phone. But overall It's a great car and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. This is our third Accord one has 290,000 miles and the other one has 165,000 miles, with routine maintenance this car will last forever.

So incredibly impressed
I bought my 2006 Honda Accord with 75,000 miles on it and of course, I was a little apprehensive about buying a 12 year old car but there was no reason for the apprehension at all. This car is everything I could have ever wanted and so much more. The ride is smooth and it grips the road so you feel secure. The acceleration is fast and swift. It's a beautiful gold color and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I bought an extended warranty but I probably won't need it but you just never know with a 12 year old car. My 1996 Honda Civic gave me 175,000 miles and still going strong. Everybody asks me if I'm going to sell it but no way would I sell such a wonderful car! I am a Honda girl for life!!!

Still going strong
6 years ago I bought this car used and its definitely the most reliable vehicle even all the options/accessories still function. The leather interior is nice the navigation works great and the v6 moves when you need it. Canadian winters or not this car always starts up like its eager to go. 15 years old and still works and looks great doing it.

Jut maybe the BEST car ever made! (and I mean it).
Not a good car but a GREAT car. Had new since 2006 with 155,000 miles on it. Listen folks if you give this car good maintenance it will never quit on you. Been repaired after two accidents (within 50 dollars of being totaled one time but I loved the car so had it repaired. I love the simplicity. Not fancy , just good comfortable transportation. Engine is bulletproof and so far the transmission too. One thing I did other than tuneups and regular maintenance is have starter replaced and oil sending unit replaced, both at about 150,000 miles. Do preventive maintenance and car will never die. The headliner is starting to come down but expected in the southern climate. Not worth replacing. Paint still decent. Love this car! Put my third set of quality tires on it and rides and handles like new. A KEEPER!!

2006 Honda Accord Da best!
My dad bought me a 2006 Honda Accord and it was the happiest day of my life. 186k miles never had a problem, owned the car for 10 years. Still ran like a champ. It came to a sad ending when a car was racing and hit and totaled my Accord. You won’t regret buying An accord.

Reliable!!
197,000 miles and still going strong. Have not done a single thing to this ride other than scheduled maintanance. No leaks. It burns a small amount of oil but it's almost unnoticeable. It's smooth and spacious. Mpg is better than my 2002 civic. I can get 35+ with cruise control. If you maintain these they will go forever. Have full intentions on another 200,000 miles

Best buy
The best car I ever had by far, I was very happy with my accord, but....I trade it for a cc passat 2010, what a mistake !!!! People who bought my accord is sooo happy, and my CC is in the workshop! 3 years I used the accord with zero problem, nothing at all, the best car by far
Honda VP after SAAB 93
Car runs great, no problems so far, very comfortable ride, Driver seat not as comfortable 93 SAAB, otherwise the ride is nice and smooth. Car is really roomy too. Nice power on the expressway and around the city. Gas mileage not too good during breakin period, hopefully it gets better, I have 200 miles on the car so far is on my second tank of gas, re-fueled at 200 miles/half tank. Bought new wheels, hub caps not for me. Nice car!
Older but solid
New owner of old car. 2006 Honda Accord, 87K miles. Handles well, runs great. Solid, heavy car esp great for highway driving.

Typical Honda
This is my second Honda, my first was a 95 accord that made it to 224,000 miles. I really like this new one. It handles much better and rides firmer (which i like) the braking is decent and the 2.4 i v-tec engine is quicker and better on fuel than my old V6. Mine is pretty basic, it has manual cloth seats, no sunroof, no heated seats or nav. but i like it because it does what its supposed to do well. Im a little leery though about the transmission, to me it seems to shift rough compared to other cars ive been in. Mine has 97,500 on it and im hoping it will get me to at least 250,000. I plan to take good care of it and follow the service manual, hopefully it will pay off. If you can, buy one!
My Sporty New Accord EX-L Navi
I did my home-work at Edmunds.com & Honda's website, which was pretty good. It helped me pick the car, color, & options, for a list price. Using a buying service, helped me get a great price! Actually driving a new one, showed me much improvement over my '97 Accord LX. The horsepower up 36, is at 166 & zippy! I ordered RED with spoiler, fog lights, & black bra, which get's the looks! The gray leather is excellent, making me feel like I'm in my Dad's Lexus. The CD Sound System, with XM radio, is superb & the cruise control right-on. What makes it really fun is the Navigation System. It controls the CD/Radio/XM & Air Conditioning with Voice Commands. I get 24 to 31 mpg, urban/hwy. Nice!
rock solid and they just keep on going
This is just my third car (all Honda Accords, all purchased used) since 1994. The previous two made it to 287K and 325K before an upgrade. Accords are great for the highway, as well as around town driving. And I was surprised my current 2006 EX handled a difficult back country "road" like a champ as well, in first gear going 2 mph over a rutted trail for the last couple of miles. The 06 never dips below 24 mpg, and that is mostly around town driving in the winter. Best mileage is in the summer with primarily highway driving, which will get you 35 mpg. I finally needed some significant brake work recently, and replaced the rotors and pads both front and back in the past few months (but not the calipers). You can't go wrong with these! Update 11/28/17 based on email invitation from Edmunds to do so: still going strong 10000 miles later, new tires make for a smooth ride. I have begun, though, to lust after tech like a rear camera and wireless connections that can take a smartphone call via the car audio system. Also would be nice to have a readout of outside temperature. But nothing that I can't do without, for now anyway. Update 5/31/18 in response to an email invitation from Edmunds: still rockin it, though need some A/C work that will probably set me back $500. 10 years with the car now, after buying it when it was two years old with 43K miles. No complaints! Uodate 12/1/19: A/C work was only $260, (for compressor O-rings and a relay switch) though I received quotes from Honda dealers for as much as $1900 to "fix the problem". Brakes shimmy a bit when braking at high speeds. Otherwise good!

3-Year Review - Excellent Car!
I have owned this car for 3 years - highly dependable, reliable and comfortable. I use this car to commute in the brutal DC area traffic. Great acceleration (V6), braking and maneuverability. Gas mileage could be better - 22 city/28 hwy. As others have noted, there are occasional problems with the 3rd gear synch on the manual transmission, the car's only flaw. This is my 3rd Accord; great performance and reliability for the price!
25mpg in town, 38mpg hwy - 1 complaint
I have owned more than 10 Honda/Acuras over 30+ years. My 2006 Accord is way up as #1 or #2. My 1996 Accord has 215k and still sings. I am really surprised @ the power & MPG combo from my 2006. I AVERAGE 25mpg around town consistently with my 2.4 (4-cy)2006. I average 34 MPG on the highway, and I drive ~ 75-80mph on cruise. Hwy varies ~ 33mpg(lowest)-38mpg(highest). Honda Engineering, Quality, and made in U.S.A.!!
A car that makes sense
We own an '02 Accord EX which we are very happy with. Still, I was surprised at just how much finer our new one is: it's peppier, the leather is nicer, the mileage is better, the interior is more luxurious, and the price is just about what we paid for the '02! This is a thinking person's car - it does what a car should do, reliably, and with comfort, practicality and economy. I rent a lot of mid-sized cars in my job and there is not a one of them that even comes close.
6 speed needed
Manual wakes this 6 up. Quick when pushed but I average 28 mpg mixed. Tires not wide enough for its guts, can spin the wheels through first 3 gears. Some road noise but tolerable. Not a quiet floater, good compromise for family car and fun. Disappointed they dropped the V6 6 speed sedan for new body style. There are a few of us with kids who like to play a little.
Most reliable car we've owned.
reliable vehicle, cheap on repairs. we bought it at 159k miles now at 256k miles we never did anything major to it just regular oil changes, starter replaced, power steering pump replaced 2 times, car never broke down on the side of the road, never ran out of gas only had check engine light on once for Oxygen sensor which was repaired by the dealer who sold it to us, i would buy this car all over again or a newer accord.

4th Honda/Acura Owner&'06 oldest got in '21
Expect 400k + miles if properly maintenced. Received "The Seal of Pretty Good" from carcomplaints.com (https://www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Accord/2006/). Big Pro = timing chain (instead of belt) in 4 cylinder models. Con = No auxiliary jack. Body style kinda bland compared to other years, however can spoiler set yours apart (if optional). The Chasis, drivability, and a few features of the '06 Accord are much more reminicient of my '94 Acura Legend than my 3 previous Accords. '06 known to have some engine issues at 160k, but you'll work around them successfully.

2006 Accord LX V6
The best car I have had overall. Very reliable. Like any other car you must maintain it & it will last a lifetime. There are minor flaws/cons with it like any other car such as the clear coat scratches easy, minor rattles in the door, steering is very tight. Pros are gas mileage is okay, built to last, no major issues, and leather seats have held up very well. I haven't had anything annoying or major happen. I've just maintained the car and not had any issues. I wish it had an AUX port and I wish it was AWD like some of Acuras cars like it. The biggest pro for me is the really tight steering but the pros out weigh the cons for sure. Overall worth the money
Best car I have owned!!!
I inherited this car after I surprised my husband with a pick up truck. We bought it new. I have been driving it for the past 2.5 years. It has almost 100000 miles and has never been repaired. Regular maintenance only. I have replaced the brakes once and 1 set of new tires and a battery and oil changes. That is it. I will drive this car until the wheels fall off. The wipers bang loudly and will cost about 300.00 to replace the motor. That's it. And this is coming from a die hard Camry driver. I would buy another Honda Accord.
Best in Class Value
2006 EX-V6/AT We have a 2004 Accord and needed another car. Test-drove the new Camry, Acura TL, and IS350. All great cars, and honestly didn't want to have two of the same car, but there was really no comparison. The steering feel, performance, ergonomics and comfort of this vehicle can't be beat at this price point. The Camry is very quiet and has more rear seat room, but not nearly as fun to drive and lacks the same standard features. The 2006 is definitely more fun to drive, might be the drive-by-wire throttle but this Accord gives more steering response and the suspension is more sporty than the 2004 EX V6. Couldn't stop smiling driving it home from the dealership. No contest. Honda definitely improved steering feel and agility over 2004 model which was my main complaint back then.
Great vehicle
Bought my 06 Accord new in Jul 2006 and has been my daily driver since that time. Have not had anything wrong other than starter went out (son had car away from home and I'm still not sure there was anything wrong with the car). Currently has 220K miles and I would drive it anywhere without a second thought. I've driven it, son driven it, daughter driven it and still rock solid. I keep it maintained well, change oil regularly, brakes as needed, and other routine things. But NOTHING can beat this car. Unless there is an accident I will be driving it forever as it still runs like new. Matter of fact this car will probably be driven by my soon to be 16 y/o daughter because I won't have to worry about it breaking down.
Took a friend's advice, and bought a Honda Accord.
After purchasing MANY different new cars throughout my life, in 2006 I decided to take the advise of a trusted and wise Honda owning friend. He had 250K on his 2005 Honda Accord, and he loved the car. My Honda has been THE BEST auto purchase ever, and it is 100% reliable and inexpensive to operate! As a professional marketer and on the road most of the time, this is HUGE. Not sure I can ever part with her.

Very Good Overall Value
Previously owned a 2003 Accord EXL V6, but switched to the 4 cyl. for nimbler handling/steering feel/fuel economy. Seriously considered the 2007 Camry XLE 4 cyl. & 2006 Hyundai Sonata V6 Limited, but the Accord won out for overall performance & styling, though the Sonata offered more car for the money and, in some areas, is superior to the Accord/Camry. The Accord's appeal is in doing so many things well, without any serious flaws. The reliability & resale are added bonuses.
BEST CAR EVER OWNED IN 50 YEARS
This is the best car I have ever owned in 50 years. So good I just purchased another new one after driving for 248,500 miles. Still able to get 29 - 30 mpg on the highway. Was not really ready to part with it but I wanted the latest in technology safety and creature features.

After 10,000 Miles, here's my review
Yes it's dependable. It has some get up and go. But it's a dull, boring car. The automatic transmission grabs and seems clunky. Descending hills and approaching stops, the transmission holds the car back and there is no way to turn this "feature" off. Apparently the feature is called "brake assist", but there needs to be an off button for this and there is not. Its very tough to get used to. I rented a Maxima on a recent trip and that was VERY nice. Fast, fun to drive, more leg room and no grabby transmission. In my opinion, if you're interested in the Accord, test drive the Maxima first.
Love it
I bought this car used with 20,000 miles on it. I've driven it 80,000 miles with just oil changes and one break job and a alignment. The car handles great on dry and rainy roads. Its pretty comfortable even for me I'm 6ft 2in and over three hundred pounds. The only negative I find is that it does'nt handle that well in snow. Over all I love it and would recommend it.
Great, refined car
The 2006 Honda Accord features a more refined interior than previous years. When ever I ride in a car that goes for about the same price range, I get back into my Accord and appreciate how nice it is. The seats are perfect for a long trip, and the car features a good amount of room in the rear and up front. I love how smooth the car transitions between acceleration ( which is quite good ) and braking. The car handles very well and the breaks are also impressive. The stereo system in the car is also great.
V6 4 Door Manual
Great car, has an abundance of power especially with the manual. The car does everything more than well but nothing perfect. It is a jack of all trades that gets good gas mileage as well.
Excellent reliabitly, great fuel economy
I bought my Accord in March 2006 new for $19,500. I do a lot of driving for work so I needed a reliable, but fuel-efficient car. The Accord has exceeded my expectations by a mile. Mine has 90K miles on it and has had absolutely nothing go wrong. I take it for routine maintenance, but do nothing else. I get about 35 MPG on the highway (with cruise) and drove it to Florida and back from NJ with ease. The interior controls are simple yet perfectly placed. The build is strong. The acceleration, while not exhilarating, is great for a 4 cylinder. All in all, this is the best investment I've ever made in a car.
unbeatable value at certain price
We bought our manual VP for $16,300 after the labor day weekend . At this price this car is a great value with all the neat features--front, side and curtian airbags, ABS, power everything even the trunk release on key fob, AC, fold down rear seat(although no split). Don't care about the extras the next up trim LX has (more speakers, power mirrors, etc) which cost nearly $2K more. It handles great and rides comfortably and is extremely quiet. If you're just looking for cheap and reliable basic transportaiton, the Accord can't be beat AT THIS PRICE. However our new car had a problem with the rear seat fold down mechanism but corrected itself somehow when I brought it in.
Amazing vehicle
We purchased our Honda Accord SE in May 2013. It is amazing - with great fuel economy, impeccable build quality, and outstanding reliability. It starts flawlessly in -40 C weather and smoothly rushes to redline when it's driven hard. Although the steering is light, it is communicative and direct. This is one of the best Honda vehicles we have ever owned - next to my 1996 bare-bones Canadian Civic LX 5MT (DX in the US) Sedan.
Ol faithful
My 2006 still feels great and it's thriving at over 175k!

my first honda :0)
This is my first ever Honda and I have to say that so far I have NO regrets. I have always owned a Toyota and although I love Toyota, I love Honda as well! I bought this Accord with 38,000 miles on it and it rides like a dream. I love the 6 disc CD changer and the the control features in the middle are easily accessible, which was a problem in my Camry, I had to reach farther to change my radio stations. I also love the controls on the steering wheel! Awesome!! Very comfortable ride. Hugs the road. I've gotten tons of compliments on my Accord and most importantly my kids love it, too!!
Perfect - Except for the driver seat.
This is the best performing four cylinder I've ever driven, it does perform like a six. Handling is tight at any speed. The interior is high quality. At around 18,500, I feel I've gotten a pretty good deal as I've paid more in the past for less car. My only complaint is the angle of the front seat, I'm a little over six feet and have fairly long legs. After driving a couple of hours my right ankle starts to hurt from the sharp angle your right foot is forced at. No amount of seat adjusting seems to resolve this issue. I've never heard anyone else complain about the seat so perhaps I've the exception...
2006 Accord EX. L
2006 Honda Accord great car, no issues, biggest issue has been replacement of both airbags. Dealer is backed up and waiting 9 hours for repair is not good. Engine is great switched to synthetic oil at 100k and it runs like a top

Nine month review
I'm sick of reading the reviews that say "had the car 2 days, best car EVER". I've had this one 9 months and it is a great car. I don't buy BMWs or Mercedes or Audis -- just Hondas, so I'm not going to complain how this car doesn't compare to them. You want a Honda, then this is the car to buy. The mileage is decent but not Civic-like, but then it's a V6 not a 4 cylinder. Leather is comfortable and seats heat well. AC is great and it handles perfectly well (at least at the sane speeds I drive) so I can't help you if you want to drive at 90 mph+. But if you're just an "Average Joe" and just want reliable, decent, fairly priced vehicles, safe for the family, then this is the one to get
Get it
Great car, accelerates fast, has a lot of leg room. I'm six foot with really long legs and this is one of the few cars that I could fit into. Was looking at Camry, Corolla, and Civic. The Accord was most comfy and roomy for me. We got a great price too, only $700 more for the Accord than the Civic, while the Accord has so much more to offer!
Finally reviewing....
I have had the 2006 Accord Ex-V6 since it was new, but have never reviewed it until now. This is the fourth Honda I have owned. I keep all my cars for many years. This car is quite comfortable. I think that is my favorite aspect of the car. The leather seats have held up well. I have had the car almost 7 years (purchased in Nov. 05) and the leather is still not split. My back seats still look practically new. Nothing in the interior has ever broken, to date. The exterior paint is thin and scratches easily. The reported sticker gas mileage is totally inaccurate. It avgs. 18 mpg. The reliability of the car does not compare to my former Honda cars. It's been towed three times in the last year!
stay away - this car is a junk-yard worthy thing nothing more
I had this Honda Accord EX V6 for more than 6 years. This was a complete waste of money - problems started almost right after first year - annoying noise in the driver and passenger doors. Then, it had an issue with the steering wheel power pump, next engine mounts broke, then transmission died (at 60000 miles), next I had to replace struts, then steering pump was replaced and finally it started leaking oil... and... well, this list can go on, thankfully I had extended warranty so most of the repairs didn't cost me big $$.
Honda Redeems Itself
Previous to this 2006 Honda Accord I owned a new 2000 Accord EX 4 cyl. for 6 years. After 5 transmissions and numerous other mechanical problems I was very anti Honda. I shopped around for months determined not to buy another Honda. I test drove everything in it's class and I was not impressed with anything. I went to a Honda dealership and drove the 2006 Accord and fell in love with it. I've had it 2 months now and my only complaints are that the exterior paint chips very easy and the car rolls a little when you go from park to drive. The gas mileage is not bad for a 6 cyl. I get about 300 miles for a tank of gas. Overall, I am very happy with this car and would recommend it.
