traded down to trade up
i just purchased my accord ex v6 with the nav system option, and i must say i am greatly satisfied. i owned a 2000 bmw 740il for about 4 months and all i had was pain. this honda is perfect however. my honda is a beautiful white with the tan leather interior which keeps heat low inside. the ride is great even with the 17inch tires. the 3liter v6 got 30.4 MPG on the interstate going 70. the 740 struggled for 20. not to be just like everyone else, but this honda is great so i recommend it to anyone who wants a 4door, a v6, or a great nav system.
still drives like new
had this car for over 5 yrs. 53k miles. still drives like new. cd player died after six months and got changed under warranty. otherwise just gas/oil and one battery change (i lived in cleveland). plenty of inside leg and head room - i am 6'2''. getting 24-26 mpg city and > 34 hwy. best was 40 mpg/hwy cruising at 65mph on flat road with empty car - i thought gas gauge malfunctioned :). got two friends with similar accords (05 model) and they have a similar story. will keep until wheels fall off.

very reliable car
This car has only a couple of problems; very worn brakes and tires at 52k, the leather could be made better, but every thing else is either perfect or ok. The power is great, the headlights look awesome, and the fuel economy said 24, 34 in the handbook but now it's like 21, 30. I'd blame the worn tires though. I have the sunroof a spoiler and black paint. During hot weather it's a real surprise when you go from 85F to about 104F. The fastest I've ever gone in it was 120mph.
Rock-Solid Performer
This car is what I have come to expect , continues my confidence, and loyalty to Honda Accord.

Noisy Bumpy Ride
I am very disappointed with the noisy and bumpy ride it is atrocious, especially on concrete freeways. Why wasnt this issue reported in the other reviews, including the professional reviews? I think Honda should have stuck to making motorcycles!
Made a Mistake
I have only had this car two months and knew the first day I had made a mistake. It is very uncomfortable, hard to get in and out, and rides very rough. We are already looking for a larger car to replace it with. The Accord is a small car and should not be referred to as a family sedan. It is more suited for teenagers and young adults who aren't interested in comfort.
I hear imports were suppose to be better
Always heard honda, toyota etc... were suppose to be so much better than chevy, ford, dodge etc... I must say I don't really find that to be true. The V-6 Accord is a nice car, don't get me wrong, however I don't find it to be SO much better than the chevy's or pontiac's I have had. Thanks but no thanks, next time i'll save a few thousand and buy another Chevy.
Mama's Accord
We purchased this Accord in 5-06, new. It has 25K on it as of 1-09. So far it's been washed, periodic oil and filter changes and a new air filter. It's trouble free. The gold appeals to my wife and she really loves the car. Fit and finish are also good with a very nice paint job. Mileage is a consistent 25 mpg. Brakes were touchy at first and now are fine. This model is the Value Pack which is the lowest priced Accord. I could not believe we could get a new Honda for under 17K! Some of it's many features we enjoy are it's high resale value, rock solid feel and it's reliability. We got our daughter an '07 Accord and it's a carbon copy of ours, a safe, hassle-free reliable car.
My Mafia Car
If you can be in love with an inanimate object then I guess I am. My Black EX V6 Accord is just a lot of fun to drive. The 105 degree Texas weather does not bother me. Two clicks and hold on the door unlock button lowers all windows. The jet black paint needs frequent washes but this car deserves the love. Gas mileage is as advertised, 21 mpg city. I work for the State Environmental Agency and I tried driving green but decided that fun was the better choice. Buy an Accord used and save your money. Mine was two years old and it looks brand new. They are built to last. I call it my mafia car and my wife just laughs.
My not so sport sedan
I enjoy my Accord but just like others the 3rd gear is screwy. I like the space the leather seats hold well for the occasional aggressive driving. I use it as my daily driver the V6 is very peppy. A little stronger clutch would be nice to hold the heavy (fast high revving) shift's but for normal driving it is just fine. For the fuel mileage I am averaging 23-25 mpg with a mix of city/hwy driving. I feel the mpg is great.
I can't belive this is a Honda
When I decided to purchase a new car, there were many models and makes that I had in mind. I testes the Acura TSX and the Acura TL as well as the Nissan Maxima and Altima. The last car that I tested was the 2006 Accord EX V6. My initial impressions were that it ahd the fell of a luxury car and the personality of a sports car. It handles well and has more than enough power to satisfy the side of you that wants to get up and go full throttle. In my opinion and after extensive research, the accord is a steal for the price and should be at the very least test driven by anyone looking for a well balanced, medium-priced car with a reputation for rock solid reliability.
Great car
Great car with great safety features, not to mention the great fuel economy. Very quiet ride with very good handling. I am averaging about 25 miles to the gallon with mixed highway/city driving. I only have 500 miles so far so the engine isn't broke in yet which should yield better gas mileage. I cannot express enough on how well the engine pulls.
Accord EX V6 AT w/ Leather & XM
Wow, I finally let myself be swayed by Car & Drivers rating the accord a 10 best most every year. Great power, comfort, ride with exceptional record of reliability. Not inexpensive but not BMW pricelike either. Couldn't be more pleased with the purchase as value for the dollar and a vehicle that's just plain fun to drive while inspiring confidence is more than I could have hoped to get. Car & Driver knows what they are writing about and I'm the beneficiary. Wohoo!
Nice Car Overall
This is my first Honda. I really like the car. Comparing the price tag, the quality is satisfactory. It is a pleasure to drive the car. The suspension is good, it is quite, all the controls are where they should be and ergonomically designed. The only thing I did not like is the fact that on the drivers side, door lock and window lock buttons are not illuminated, very hard to see in the dark. The performance is good. It is a little problematic when climbing hills but not too much. That's probably OK for a 4 cylinder engine.
Accord V6 The Best
I have been a Honda Accord owner for over 9 years now. This model is definitely the best and the 240 horses respond on demand.............
Wouldn't Drive Anything Else
This is my 4th Accord and the best yet. I wanted something a little more upscale than my 04 Accord, so I looked at the Acura TL, Audi A4, and Cadillac CTS. I couldn't believe the new Accord would outweigh the TL or A4, but it did. It took a while for the front end design to grow on me. The 06 changes are very pleasing, and I think the new rear design looks like Cadillac designs. No more looking beyond the Accord for something more upscale. I'm glad I looked, but much happier I stayed with the Accord. Quiet, comfortable, good looking, and a complete joy to drive. The best vehicle I've owned in my 30-plus years of driving. Honda family. My wife drives an 05 Pilot and loves it.
Great Deal
I got the 2006 Accord EX V6. It's actually my second accord and i'm very impressed with it. My 1994 accord has 115,000 miles in it and still running. The 2006 accord is very comfortable and roomy to drive. I was disappointed to find out that the automatic starter is not a standard. I don't actually have a problem with the breaks, since it's still new, it is very sensitive. Otherwise the ride is very smooth, you can barely hear the engine when it's on.
ern's opinion?
Great car. Three days after purchase drove from tn to lower texas and all over tx. Very comfortable and averaged 27.5 mpg. Fun to drive and got accolades from many people.
2006 Honda Accord
This car is a great get in and go car. I had a Jeep previously and it didn't satisfy my need to handle the curves with ease.
LOVE it!
I bought this originally for my wife ... but now we struggle almost daily to see who will drive the Accord! Extremely agile and comfortable. Lots of fun! Very economical. We both LOVE it!
Nice Buy
Cars dives well and smooth at 70- 80mph. I do alot of highway driving for work and the car has been great so far.
Love it
To date my Honda has been great. No problems and I have over 4k now and still have oil life of 40%. The oil does not need to be changed till 20%. Rides good and nice power.
A lot car for the money
This car met all my expectations, in handling performance. It is quality built.
Shifting Problems
I chose this car over the others because the Accords I drove were smooth and comfortable. The new one that was delivered for me shifts harder then the ones I drove and my daughter's '06 Accord V6/5A. I've had it to the dealer 3 times. They have reprogrammed the PCM twice and it has helped the uncomfortable shifts; but not corrected it to what I found was normal in others. Please take the car for a long drive first.
Superb for the Money!
This is our 3rd Honda Accord we've owned. Our last, a 2005 Honda Accord EX-L V6 where we were T-Boned by a drunk driver going 50 mph protected our family very well. We were very impressed with how well the car protected us. Accident safety aside, this is a superb car for the money. We got the EX V6 with leather, no navigation and were very impressed with the ride, amenities, performance, and fuel economy. Our friends have an Acura TL-though a wonderful automobile, offers similar sound deadening as our Accord. We didn't need HID lamps, or other "creature" comforts. So if you're looking for a safe, well built, comfortable car, check out the Honda Accord!
Excellent features for the money
This is my 4th Accord in the last 10 years. I bought EX V6 with leather, no navigation. Ride is smoother, improved noise road, excellent A/C. Don't feel transmission changes. You get very good features same as higher priced sedans for less money.
Feels Like a Luxury Car, or Better
This is my third Honda and only because I wanted a newer, more luxurious Honda; not because my ten year old one had anything wrong with it. Aside from ridiculous, opulent features such as memory seats or rear facing TV cameras this car has everything. Although it was a bit pricey it seems like an outright bargin when compared to Lexus, Mercedes, BMW or even Acura. I think those luxury car drivers should discover what they're missing. Great acceleration, reasonable fuel economy considering the power, no rattles, controls precisely in place, comfortable heated seats, pleanty of room, great handling and visability. I only wish they offered a variety of interior colors.
What a great car !!!
Safe, solid choice! I would recomend the V6, I tested the 4 cyl, and lets face it no matter how peppy it is, it's 80 hp less. Very quiet cabin. Very quick to respond, excellent brakes. I got tired of looking like a fool when trading in an american car. And probably I was a fool. Resale value on Honda is great and that says it all.
2006 Honda Accord
This is a near luxury car for a sedan price. It really has everything I need. About the only extra items I could even think of are memory seats and heated mirrors. The engine is powerful, the steering tight, the ride smooth and refined and the build quality first rate. It takes me longer to get anywhere because I always want to stretch out the drive experience.
Love IT!!!
This car is great! The 6-spped transmission is really fun to drive. The heated leather seats are great in the winter. XM is a great feature but there really isn't much on all those channels. This car again is great.
Great car if the deal is right!!!
Just traded my 2003 Civic Lx for the Accord. The Accord EX V6 (4door) is a great car. The car has great pick up and a very smooth ride. I love all of the features on the EX. Love this car so far.
My Accord
The Accord drives great. I don't think it's any better than the Acura. As it gets broke in more, it seems to get better and better. The V-6 is powerful but if you're not looking for performance, the 4 banger has plenty of power and better MPGs.
Great Car!
The first sedan I've owned in 24 yrs. The handling and stability are outstanding with plenty of power producing a very comfortable ride. The engine is very quiet for a V-6.
Accord
It is an outstanding car that I would recommend. It can seat five in comfort or works great for the solo commute. Gets out on the highway and it really can move! Road noise is minimal, stereo excellent, transmission is smooth, and driver seat is best I have had in a car. I just moved down from an SUV which was a great vehicle but I am seeing what I missed in a car that can get around.
astonishing car for daily travel
The best sedan under 30k, it's just astonishing
Honda Number 10
As you can see I've owned many Hondas over the years. I also don't put much stock in a review of a car after just 2 days of ownership! I've had this car for 10 months and it is absolutely great. Boring looks, but a sweet ride. The V6 has plenty of power for flat Ohio and the roads here are the biggest reason to ever complain about ride and handling, not the car itself. It's significantly bigger than a Civic (Honda # 9) and while I can live with the bland look, it'd be nice to get Civic-like gas mileage. On the other hand, I feel much more safe and secure in inclement weather driving the Accord. Room for 5 easily and quieter than the Civic too. This is really just about the perfect car.
Last Honda for me ....
After owning Honda's for the last 30 years I am on my last one. Why you ask? It's the dealers and Honda corporate US. My local dealer service dept has one great service manager and I could do without the remainder of this dept. They continue to increase oil change fees and recently wanted to charge $129 for a transmission fluid change. Went to another dealer and got it done for $49. HONDA CORP if you read the online forums then please note you have lost another customer. I am tired of dealers nickel /diming me to death. $300 for a 30k service and the main thing you do is oil/filter, air filter, cabin filter ?!?!?! Sorry, guess it's Toyota from now on.
