GOOD
this is a great car, it lives up to expectation, this is my first purchase of a honda product, i am extremely pleased with this vehciles and its dependability.
2006 Accord EX V-6
Traded in my 2004 Civic EX Coupe for the 2006 Accord EX. This is the nicest car I have ever owned. I am a bit concerned about the current gas mileage because I commute ~110 mi/day in DC traffic but otherwise a wonderful vehicle. My family helped me choose the car so we bought a Sedan. I held out for the V-6, 6- speed manual transmission for some mid- life excitement. The price was $5k below sticker price and below dealer cost so this is definetly a good deal for us. The 6-speed MT takes some getting used to in reference to the 5- speed. Hard to locate middle gears sometimes. Handles well in varied weather and road conditions.

Best Mid-Size Sedan
You can't beat this car for the money. No American made car i had even caddys are this well put together.I have 4000 miles on it no rattles or squeaks. My only gripe is that the radio sounds fuzzy on certain stations.
sue's review
I love this car it's pretty zippy for a 4 cylinder. It's a blast to drive. Great gas mileage in town.
Always a Honda
With the exception of a "between cars car" I have always driven an Accord and the newest model is yet another example of why this is one of the top 3 selling cars in America. Design, quality, reliability - all top notch. Very smooth ride that will run forever at a price most families can afford.
Just the Best
It has been 10 years since I owned my last Honda Accord and I wonder why I ever strayed, I felt comfortable the minute I sat in my new Accord. It handles and corners on a dime, it is just so responsive. Ive had 29 miles to the gallon, which I did not expect. Trunk space , leg room, luxurious interior, fabulous resale value. What more can anyone ask?....maybe four wheel drive. Well, cant have everything.
Poor man's BMW
Don't believe the estimated mpg. I consistently get 26mpg city/hwy & 31 hwy. This V6 is fast, comfortable & fun to drive. It doesn't handle quite as well in the corners as my previous car, 1995 BMW 525i, but would blow the doors off it. You do notice road noise at hwy speeds & the ride is a little stiff, feeling the bumps in the road, but that could be the original tires. It handles well in snow even with original tires. The interior & dash are well designed to keep controls simple and easy to reach. I'm a 6'2" male & have plenty of leg & head room.
Love My Honda's
This is my 6th Accord, and they keep getting better, but less imaginative and lately always seem behind the curve. Wish Honda could do more about the road noise, the car could use some soundproofing; The gear shifter could be sleeker, sexier not sticking up so high; Offer better and more extior colors mixup the exterior and interior colors, would like to have gotten the satin silver with tan intior; do not like the painted bumper they scratch up to easily; and do love the realiability and quality.
Just my assessment
Overall Nice car. Have some annoying squeaks from the dashpot when cold. Some rattle from the right side also. Appears to be from the glove compartment. Good gas mileage. Quick heat. Nice stereo. Price has dropped since last year. You probably can buy them for at least 500 below the dealer invoice, around $19,400, maybe less.
Great ride, interior problems
Purchased Accord 4 months ago. Beautifully smooth ride. Powerful for a i4, get manual transmission to truly appreciate. Problem with interior fabric quality. Wearing of seats and arm rests apparent after only 1500 miles! Honda will replace under warranty, others have reported same problem with new 2006 fabric. Beyond that car is a dream, smooth, powerful, refined, and perky. Roomy enough for 5 six foot tall adults with no complaints. My girlfriend has a 2006 Camry and loves the sportiness and comfort of my Accord. Camry and Accord are like night and day in terms of ride. Camry is built for pedestrian driving while Accord can really hug the turns and accelerate in traffic.
Excellent Ride
I love this car! This is my 5th Honda and my 4th Accord. I would have to say this is the BEST by far! I get a lot of compliments on this car and I am truly proud to have this vehicle.
Excellent
It is a great car for the money and is really the only car that makes Toyota improve the Camry year after year.
yet another one...
I've owned every style Accord since 1990, and this is yet another winner. I was about to purchase an Altima, but the Accord's torque and smooth acceleration hooked me in. The VP gives us the basics we need, and the interior design is decent. I wish they would just add the rear speakers...how much more did they save by not doing so? You can't go wrong with a car with known reliability, quality and build.
2nd Honda a hit...
This is the first time repeating a Manufacturer, and will probably go Honda for the next time as well. After 5 trouble-free years with a 2001 CR-V, it was time to change to something a bit more 'Adult' since we didn't really care for the new CRV styling. We purchased a new '06 leftover in November from the same dealer. The Accord is a dream to drive with little or no fatigue. Fuel economy is better than the sticker,(35+ on a recent Boston trip) as was the CRV. Excellent handling without being to jarring on the road with the many obstacles here in NYC.
Best decision I made
Just bought my '06 Honda Accord LX/SE 5 speed manual and I absolutely love it. It is the the best decision I made. I was originally looking at the Civic, but got such an awesome deal for the Accord. It is much nicer than the Civic and much more roomier. Although I haven't driven it hard yet, the handling and shifting is awesome. Honda put together an excellent package for the money.
Be careful!
Bought my accord in early January 06. Love the ride, navi, heated seats, etc. Love this car. BUT - found my car missing within 3 weeks of purchase. Car was stolen, driven around by hoodlum for 3 weeks and totaled w/ more than 18k in body damage. Be careful! I may have an anti-theft, gas shut off switch built into my next car.
Wolf in Sheep's Clothes
Great sporty sedan with room. This car exceeds all expectations. Coming out of a 2001 BMW 325XI, the Accord with 6MT gives up nothing to the BMW in handling and exceeds it in power and driving fun. This car is 95% the same car as the Acura TL but loads less money. Get the EX sport package, it is well worth the money to give the car a little better appearance. Also added the splash guards and full nose mask. Got all these accessories for about $900, MSRP was $2200 installed. Paid $300 over invoice for the car.
My First Honda
I bought this car to replace my 2002 Jeep Liberty Sport 4x4.I was looking for a vehicle which was more economical but still comfortable to drive for a tall person (6'4"), and fun to drive. After extensive research my final choices were, the 06' Buick LaCross,'06 Toyota Camry,06'Nissan Altima 2.5, 06' Chevy Impala and the 06'Honda Accord. I chose the Accord. This car is, in my opinion, the best overall. It's very comfortable, safe, quiet, looks beautiful from all angles, performs like a sports car but has the comfort of a luxury car, and to top it off, it is excellent on gas!! The build quality is superb, has very stylish body lines, and the six speaker sound system sounds awesome! Very Nice!
ValuePackage is still great car!
Like most consumers, I narrowed my new car purchase down to either a Camry or an Accord. After test driving both vehicles, the answer was clear-cut. The Accord is a better looking car inside and out and the few options that I do not have on my car are outweighed by the fact that side- curtain airbags were included, where Toyota wanted to charge extra for them. The vehicle has tight handling and responsive acceleration that I did not find in the Camry I test drove. Add in the courteous and professional service I got from the Honda dealer (that I did not get at the Toyota lot) and I bought the car before leaving the lot the same day I test drove it.
Great choice
It had been 10 years since I had owned a car similar in size to this Accord. The ride is extremely comfortable and it is fun to drive. There is little to no wind noise however there is some unexpected road noise. This is a great all around car for any age buyer
Wise choice
I bought my accord in Jan. I am very impressed on the quality and comfort of this fine sedan. by far the best car in it's class. I do recommend spending the extra $$ for the v6 you won't be sorry, It kicks.
Best car yet
This is the best car I have driven or purchased yet. Volvo can't even come close. The navigation is awesome and very accurate (with little goofs, very rare though). Interior is way better than most ~$30k cars. In short, this is the best investment for your money.
Honda still doing it right.
I have owned honda cars in the past. With the gas prices the way the are I went for an economical car. Accord was the choice and honda is sill doing it right. The 2.4 has great pep and getting over 32 m.p.g. As in the past the car is fun to drive solid ride and oh yea, the air bag system is second to none. Thanks again Honda for making my choice easy.
Who could ask for more?
I bought this car new and it now has 28k miles. It has been trouble free, though I do need to have the drivers window adjusted now b/c it squeaks. Recently I began driving slower (the speed limit) and it has consistently turned in 36 mpg, which is phenomenal. The car will accelerate quickly when you push it, the 4 wheel double wishbone suspension (gone on the new model) handles great and is lightweight. Honda did an excellent job on this car and I highly recommend it. I do wish it had a 6 speed manual on the 4 cylinder. My favorite feature is the electrochomatic speedo display. Great job, Honda, in creating a perfectly balanced, safe reliable, affordable car. I suggest Boston speakers
Best Value for the $$
I was looking at the Altima3.5 v6 , Mazda 6 V6, Camry v6 SE. the Honda is just a better buy! The Honda is the only one that doesn't need Premium fuel. The Accord has a great revised rear end (love the LED) awesome wheels, great interior fit & finish, Tons of space. Fuel ecconomy is great for a V6 with 244HP. To sum it all up, the Honda is a great everyday car looks great drives fast has a very good 5 speed Auto tranny you get a lot of "zoom zoom" when you need it and all drama free. No doubt the best car you can get for the $$ period.
Great car
I now drive this car after owning several Honda / Acura vehicles in the past. They are the best vehicles on the road for the money. It is powerful enough to get by most cars, and yet just blends in like a regular car. It isn't flashy, but I love my Accord . I only wish that I would have gotten the v6 manual instead of the auto. Simple, reliable, classy, yet sporty. I have always been satisfied with Honda products and I'm a loyal customer. Looking forward to my next car, the 2017 Honda Accord.
Surprisingly Sporty
I spend six to eight hours per day in my car. I bought the Accord LX V6 because of the reliability ratings and fuel efficiency. Was I ever surprised at the performance! The V6 has plenty of zip, and responds well even at interstate speeds. The 17" wheels give it a very sporty appearance. The design is solid, and the ride comfortable. I strongly recommend the Accord! The performance, value, and features are the best on the market.
Exceeded Expecations
A veritable wolf in sheeps clothing: I actually find myself making excuses to drive more. Great driving dynamics: comfortable seats, silky Acura powertrain (including wheels from '04 TL/CL Type S), and exceptional visibility. I can't believe Honda built this version of the Accord - but I sure am glad they did.
Very satisfied - quality vehicle
I've had my Accord for about 4 months, and recently returned from a 1200+ mile trip, averaging 35 mpg (mostly highway). There is more than adequate power for me with the 4cyl engine (and use of regular gas is a plus). Even though the drive is on the sporty/stiff side, it's quite comfortable. The interior is tastefully and thoughtfully designed. I feel like I'm in a luxury sports sedan without the luxury price. Not a stand-out car (seems like I'm always passing one on the street), but a solid/reliable vehicle. If only it weren't one of the top stolen vehicles in my city...
Auto makers can take a lesson from Honda
An incredible ride, outstanding fuel enonomy and great performance. Couldn't ask for more ! The Navi system and XM are true frosting on the cake, and with Honda's outstanding resale value I'm convinced this is one of the best purchases I've ever made. I did my homework about other models and have no regrets whatsoever. No matter what the weather is (I'm in Great Lake Snow & Ice Country) I've always felt secure on the road with the traction, durability and power to drive in any condition. I just wish the American Auto Makers would take these outstanding features (which obviously American consumers are looking for and need) and implement them in cars whose names we've grown up with.
Love this car
My previous Accord is 16 yrs old and going strong. Made purchasing a new one easy. I love the styling, especially improvements to the rear like LED tail lights and trunk mounted center brake light. The 5 spd is quick, shifting is smooth, and engine noise is surprisingly quiet. Road noise is still there. Sigh. I love the handling on this car! 33-34 mpg so far, which is why I have the 4 cyl manual. Leather seats are very nice but the navigation system is incredible. The lighted instrumentation makes me smile whenever I start this car up. Only downside is lack of headroom for my 64 frame... the price you pay for having the power moonroof.
Best value for the price.
I looked at the Sonata, Camry (07), Passat, and Mazda 6 before deciding on the Accord LX SE. Although some had more equipment for the money, they all lacked in either quality, fit, finish, ride, performance, or road noise. In fact, I was really surprised when Honda's 4cyl out performed most of the of the competitor's 6cyl models. This given, that fuel economy is pretty close to EPA estimates. With 80% of my miles being in town, I am getting right at 26 MPG. My only problem so far is getting used to driving a manual again. The engine is so quiet that I sometimes forget to shift. Although this is my first experience with Honda they have certainly earned my respect and future business.
Great Car
Good car for the money. You get a great name for less bucks! Great gas mileage in the age of HIGH gas prices.
Not your father's family sedan.
I've only owned the car for a couple of months. Power is plentiful and the V6 makes a wonderful sound above 3500 rpm. The car is eerily quiet at lower rpms, and it has taken me a while to get used to the lack of noise from the engine. The engine and transmission just ooze with smoothness. The suspension is wonderful. You feel every bump exactly once, no more. Certainly not sports-car tight, but neither is it all floaty like my parents' cars. A fantastic compromise between ride and handling. Combined with the six-speed manual, this is a driver's car in the guise of a "boring family sedan". It seats four comfortably and can outaccelerate both the 1986 IROC-Z Camaro and Mustang GT.
Came Back To Honda
I came back to Honda after owning luxury vehicles for years. This is a nice car that needs a serious face lift. Ride is smooth and handling is crisp. Resale is fantastic and the value is superior compared to the more expensive "luxury sedans" I currently own or just sold. Why pay thousands more for an Acura when the Accord is very similiar internally? I looked "cool" and spent a lot of money to do it these past few years. Now it is back to basics.
Great Accord
I own a 2006 LX SE accord with automatic. I have always liked Hondas and owned a few in the last 20 years. This is yet another great product from Honda which is fun to drive, reliable and powerful. The car handles great and the 4 cylinder, 2.4 liter engine provides plenty of power. I would have preferred the manual transmission, but agreed on an auto to make everyone happy! The SE with alloys and CD changer and steering wheel audio controls just add to the fun. Great vehicle. It replaced a 1999 Mercedes E320 which turned out to be a piece of junk and had to be replaced to avoid long-term major expenditures. No more Benz for me, that's for sure.
I love my new Honda!!
I was very hesitant to purchase a new car after driving my old one for 7 years. It is so nice to get off from work now and get into my wonderful new Honda. I have been very pleased with my purchase.
Great Value - Must Buy
Drives smoothly, superior comfort. All conveniences at your fingertips.
2006 LX 4dr
Bought this car in December '05. A lot of car for the money, very affordable, nice ride. Had a 2000 Accord, 2 dr. V6 prior to this one and was very happy with it. Will stick with Honda till another company can do it better.
My First Honda
This is my first Honda, and I am loving it. There is a lot of car for the money. This car is great to drive to and from work, which is 40 mins each way for me. I am looking at 31.5 MPG at this time. The car is still breaking in.
Honda keeps up the good work
My new wife informed me that my 2003 Honda Civic Coupe EX wasn't exactly a good family car and that we needed to look for a sedan. I did a lot of research and ended up wanting to stick with Honda. I was impressed with the 2006 Civic Sedan but my wife talked me into trying out the Accord. We weren't even a mile out from the dealership during our test drive of the 2006 Accord LX Special Edition when we decided that it was the car for us. I loved my Civic but comparing the Civic to the Accord is like apples to oranges. The entire car is just a step up. The comfort and ride of the Accord is phenominal. The build quality is great. The 4 cylinder engine performs beautifully. We love it.
Sound Car With High Resale
This is a nice and comfortable sedan that has undergone recent tweaks to the exterior, interior and the suspension. Honda continues to improve the Accord every year never letting a good thing rest on its laurels. The Navigation system is the best-of-breed. XM Radio is a nice complement. The new tires and suspension make this a more spirited drive than the 2007 Camry; although, horsepower is less than the new Camry. Honda needs to give this car a facelift. It is like dating the average girl next door rather than a supermodel. The mechanics are fantastic and fit and finish are superior to most vehicles. The exterior needs an overhaul to compliment the interior.
Great features well-balanced options
Purchased 1 month ago at 25 miles and has 2400 miles on it now. It is a great car. Well balanced features: Great stereo (6 CD charger), powerful heating and A/C, map lights. My spouse wants to sell Acura and get one of this, seriously. I was tired of Toyota's options etc. This car has everything. Internal build quality, materials are above average. One can see the ergonomic details Honda always pays attention to: nicely positioned cup holders, very comfortable seats and ride. Very sporty and tight riding. Very enjoyable ride. I did not experience any a rattle noise or highway riding noise.
My excellent honda
I love my Honda. It runs great, no problems so far, very comfortable and the ride is nice and smooth. My car is so roomy too.
No conflict with an Accord
Purchased the Accord in Nov. 2005 using the Edmunds referral program. The Accord Ex 4 cyl. auto w/ leather and nav. is a middle class Mercedes without the reliability problems. The ride is smooth, climate control is flawless, the radio produces rich sounds, the interior is as attractive and refined and as comfortable as cars costing $10K more. On a recent trip south, the Accord recorded 34.5 mpg on regular gas. Class, comfort, and economy--love it!
The Best
Basically, this is midsize car to get. Don't look anywhere else and the 4 has plenty of power
Great gas mileage
The Honda 4 cylinder LX with automatic transmission gets great gas mileage. I just logged a 400 mile trip and average 34.2 mpg at 75-80 mph speeds throughout the trip. It is one of the few cars that actually gets the EPA mileage rating (34 mpg highway). I believe I would have achieved 37 mpg @ 70 mph speeds. The car handles like a BMW, has good road feel, and precise steering. Great Car!!!
Hard to get more for your money
My experience got off to a rough start. On my drive home, the transmission popped out of first gear. Took it to the dealer and had to twist their arm to admit there was a problem - then had the car in the shop for 10 days so they could replace first gear. After a couple months the problem appears to be solved. That said, the transmission shifts like a dream. Why anyone drives automatics is truly a mystery to me. The interior is great and roomy, nav and xm are great - especially the xm. I do wish the car had beefier brakes and better (more sporty) tires. But I can always upgrade in the future. Gas mileage is about 25 in mixed driving and 32 hwy. Engine is powerful and smooth.
2006 Souped-Up Accord Rocks
This car is more than I expected it would be. The transition from gear to gear is exceptionally smooth, and the car seems to float along the road. It's quick too, I was doing over 90 on the interstate without even knowing it (but a state trooper knew it when he clocked me with his radar gun). Jerk. The car has endless features too, from the XM radio, to the Navigation computer, to multitudes of voice- activated commands, and the fact that the computer tells you when you need an oil change, tire rotation, etc. by keeping track of your driving, maintiaing the car is a breeze. Plus, I'm averaging over 30 miles per gallon on my way to work (which is not all highway). Sweet ride!
Home Run
I was a former owner of a 2004 EX V6, which was totaled in February with minimal damage to myself and passengers. I took delivery of my EX-L in March and I can safely say that I will keep this car for at least 7 years. I like the pep of the big 4-cylinder engine, the smooth ride balanced with good handling, upscale interior and exterior, and the steadily improving gas mileage.
