Performance
I think it is the best car today for the money. I believe that it has all the features that you need.
Words do nothing...
I must say, this car has more than lived up to expectations. It is far more refined than others in it's class, and it's so nice having the performance, luxury, and affordability all in one car. My V6 is getting 27 mpg on average. The heated seats and mirrors are wonderful, and the dash layout is very effective, along with the steering wheel audio controls. The brakes really are a bit softer than I like, but the rest of the performance makes up for it. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a bit of luxury with performance, and practicality, at a price others would pay 6k more for. This Accord is the best yet.

Love my 2006 Honda LX SE
After 2 Civic's, 1 Odyssey, and 1 Del Sol, I finally purchased an Accord. I've been in love with Honda's since the mid-80's, and this Accord is probably my favorite vehicle yet. It is beautiful, and I love driving it. It is such a comfortable ride.
I "upgraded" from an Acura
In 2000, I bought a new Acura TL. In 2003, I bought a new Acura CL Type S. After 5 transmissions, I bought an '06 Accord. It was a very wise decision. The Honda quality is legend, and in my case, it has lived up to it's acclaim. The 2.4 engine is surprisingly quick and responsive. Handling is superb. Dollar for dollar is a "best buy" as far as I'm concerned. I wanted something that was reliable, and the Honda line is known for reliablility. I went from an average 14 mpg of hi-test in the Acura to an average of 22 mpg of regular with the Accord, and as I said the 100 missing horses is not apparent. A great quiet ride and a comfortable interior with plenty of room. You can't go wrong. Buy it!
2nd Honda a hit...
This is the first time repeating a Manufacturer, and will probably go Honda for the next time as well. After 5 trouble-free years with a 2001 CR-V, it was time to change to something a bit more 'Adult' since we didn't really care for the new CRV styling. We purchased a new '06 leftover in November from the same dealer. The Accord is a dream to drive with little or no fatigue. Fuel economy is better than the sticker,(35+ on a recent Boston trip) as was the CRV. Excellent handling without being to jarring on the road with the many obstacles here in NYC.
Tom Kiley's review
I have had the car for three weeks and have taken two trips that were over 200 miles each way and have found the car to be very comfortable, quiet with good power for acceleration. My on road gas mileage averaged 32 mpg.
One Of The Best
I used to buy domestic cars but could never found one the had a balance of everything. This car makes driving 50 miles one way to work a dream. If u r looking 4 a midsize sedan this is the car to get.
No regrets whatsoever
It may exude practical, but it does it so well for around 20K. Excellent room for my tall family and it has surprisingly great performance for a four cyl (HP and MPG). I don't cringe when offering the rear seat to a tall person. It has reasonably tight drivabilty and you can feel the road. Fit and trim all seem flawless. Though a couple more options/features might be nice I won't complain about it. Nice wheels and grippy brakes (I don't understand negative reviews in this area). The engine compartment is spacious and orderly. I really appreciate the end result of Honda's effort in building a well engineered car that I enjoy looking at and can afford to own.
4 cyl surprise
Very pleasantly surprised by the responsiveness of the 4 cyl. Lots of room in seating area and trunk. Comfortable driving position with telescopic adj steering wheel. Attractive white on black instrument cluster. Good sound system. Traded in a G35 Sedan for improved gas mileage. Ride not as smooth as the Infiniti, and handling not quite as steady, but not bad.
Love the V6 engine + 6 speed manual
This car strikes the perfect compromise (for me, at least) between sportiness and comfort. Handling is very good for this class, and the ride is smooth enough for long hours on the freeway (but, thankfully, not buicklike smooth :-). The combination of the quiet and powerfull V6 and the slick 6 speed stick shift make this car a joy to drive. The interior is very roomy front and back, and the build quality seems to be first rate.
The real deal
With a bit of reluctance I decided to test drive the 6 speed Accord. What a car!!! This is a fast car and fun to drive. The gear box is as soft as butter and the interior is impeccably finished. No bells and whistles. The XM radio is a must and the sound system that comes with the 6MT is fantastic. Only the 6MT has 180w. The leather seat are very comfortable and the rear seat have plenty of room. Handling is superb and the redesign tail light looks great.
My first Honda
This is the first Honda I have owned. I purchased the VP. It had all the safety features I was looking for in a car. Features that came standard and not optional as in most american cars.
great car and fun to drive for an 18 yr
great handling and very comfortable. just as fast as i need it to be. im kind of a nuts driver so the 4 cyl keeps me good.good gas milage. i have the black cloth seats which are nice but get very dirty easily. next time i'll go with the leather.
excellent car
This is my first Honda. Good car, excellent quality, good power, comfortable, great handling, refined
Fantastic Car
Coming from a large 4x4 truck, this car is a refreshing change. Before my truck, I owned an '88 Accord that I was very attached to, yet reluctantly sold it. That attachement, along with gas prices, the world economy, social responsibilty, etc. is what brought me back to the Accords and Honda. The engine and transmission are butter smooth. The interior is quiet, fairly refined and comfortable. The suspension is taught and the steering precise. I still haven't went through the first tank of gas yet, but I expect the mileage to be as advertised. Overall, I am tickled with my Accord. Honda has done a very nice job with the design. The Accord SE is a GREAT value for the money.
best little 4 cylinder ever
best performance 4 cylinder automatic ever driven. 5 speed transmission is so smooth you do not hear anything. I had a 98 6 cylinder accord because my 92 4 cylinder accord did not have the passing power. What a difference. If you want 0 to 60 in so many seconds, get the v6 but if you want to go approx 40 and than need to pass or pick up speed, it flies fast enough for me without any engine noise. Only a slight, really minor shake at idle when air conditioner is going. When it is off, their is no idle shake at all. Also, I think it manuevers better than the 98 model. No road noise or wind noise. Best in braking ever. Hyundai had problem in brakes. Felt like ABS were on but road was smooth.
Honda accord lx se--an awesome vehicle
This car is awesome! For starters, it offers much more than its competitor (the camry) for about the same price. Also, the interior is much more modern (similar to the acura's) the accord handles the road like a higher priced sedan. The comfortable sport seats give you the support you need. My one hour commute seems more like a 20 minute drive. The car stereo sounds great and actually makes you "feel the music" quality is all over this car (too much to mention here). If you are in the market for a midsize sedan, then look no further, the accord is the one-you won't be dissapointed. You can thank me later for sharing these thoughts. By the way, get an online price quote and save big time!
goodbye camry...hello accord
being a toyota owner for many years (since 1980) it was going to be hard to put me behind the wheel of anything else. by late january i sort of desperately needed a vehicle, and with the knowledge of the 2007 camry coming out this spring i figured i would wait till then. when toyota finally released the car at the detroit auto show i was not impressed. i thought the current camry was somewhat "whale like"but the new model left me wanting more. so, i went down to my local honda dealer and looked at the accord se. made the purchase and have never been happier with a new car purchase. i now consider myself a honda guy and cant say enough about how this car pleases me.if you dont believe me get CR.
Honda Accord
I own a 1990 Honda Accord (that's 16 years) and have 180,000+ miles on it, also purchased at Manchester. Upgrading to a 2006 was the best decision I could have made. The exterior and interior are great, the safety features (including the steel beams in the doors and the all around air bags) were all I needed to make my decision. I traded in a Olds Intrigue which was the last American car I will own.
Good Daily Commuter
Had the car for 4 years now. Very reliable, great mileage. It has a few creaks & rattles, but this is not a top-of-the-line luxury car, just good solid transportation.
Excellent car !!!
I tried the 2007 V-6 Toyota Camry and compared to the 2006 Honda Accord V-6, the Toyota has no comprarisson to the Honda, it accelerates way better, much more comfortable, I feel safer in the Honda. It's a great car !!!!
It's great driving a smaller new car
I had a very large turning radius in my late husband's Cadillac...What a pleasure it is to be able to make a turn in one movement... It took me a while to get used to the inner mechanics and stickshift [automatic] on the console [instead of the wheel]. I still have difficulty releasing the hand brake because I'm not as strong as I used to be. But, now its a real delight to zip around! P.S. I'm 88 years old.
Affordable Luxury
I looked at everything out there. I wanted leather, wood grain interior, dependability, and sharp looks. For my price range, it came down to a Certified Used Acura or a brand spanking new Accord (I tested Camry and Altima and they weren't in the same class). Obviously I went with the Accord and have been very pleased for the last 2 months.
The Best Car
I absolutely LOVE my 06 Accord with navigation and XM radio!! The ride is so quiet and very smooth! I am a large man ( 280 lbs +) and find the Accord roomy and comfy. My gas mileage is excellent ( average 28 mpg)....I can recommend this solid, reliable to anyone!!
Great deal for the $
This is my second Accord EX, first with the V6. it's about time they offered a 6 speed manual!!. Short shifter is great, but the shift knob just seems too small for me. Other than that, it's great. Good scceleratioon, though it doesn't feel anywhere close to 244hp. My 2000 Audi A6 2.7T (250 hp) blew the doors off of this thing, but the Honda handles 10 times better.
Great car; no regrets so far
I've had my 06 Accord SE for about 3 weeks. Overall I'm very pleased with the car. The 4 cyclinder for the most part provides enough power. You'll notice a little sluggishness with the AC running. I love the interior. The look is clean and well thought out. The dash illumination is crisp and clear. No gaudy color combinations or cluttering displays. The ride is a little stiff, but smooth and responsive. You may notice a little road noise, however, I didn't feel it was as pronouced as I was lead to believe. Complaints.. glove box doesn't appear to line up with its surroundings, trunk feels extremely cheap. If you're looking at a basic 4 cyl EX check out the SE, you'll save a little money.
So Happy I went with My Honda
I just purchased my Honda Accord EX-L 4CL with leather/moonroof and am so happy that I did. I was looking at spending extra for a certified pre-owned Volvo S60 or the Nissan Maxima. I just couldn't find any good deals, as the latter models were over priced and over hyped. When I test drove the Accord, I fell in love. The interior is that of a Lexus- quality. I couldn't believe it. So smooth and it's got a lot of pep for a 4CL engine. I just got rid of my gas guzzling Jeep Cherokee V6. So over these ridiculous gas prices! Used to have to fill my truck twice a week to get back forth to my job. I've cut that by just more than half (and it'll get better once it's broken in).
Best Car by Far
This car has been really great to my wife and me. I have always heard good things about Hondas but never bought into the hype. After owning other new cars, the Accord has the best ride and performance.
Quality Car with the best value
I have this car for about a week with Carbon Bronze and ivory leather that turn many heads on the road. The quality of this car is simply impeccable. The engine is smooth and full of power. You did not step much of the gas even with this four cylinders. With the value of this car, it is comparable to thousands more Accura but with 30+ MPG advangtage. I was originally on the market for a Camry but after inspecting 06 Accord. It was just a no brainer decision. Camry is simply too plain and not very exciting. With comparable equipment Camry, it costs about $2000 more with dealer's attitude, which I do not know where that came from. Overall, you just can not go wrong with this car.
Better Than Expected
I bought my 06 Honda Accord mostly for the fuel economy. This car has turned out to be more than I expected. The ride is smooth and the 4 cylinder engine has more get up and go than I would have believed. I have gotten nothing but compliments on my purchace. This is my first Honda but I will be buying Honda again in the future.
Great Car
This is my first Honda and definitely not the last. I love the power of the V6 engine but the fuel economy suffers a bit (getting average 24MPG in city, got 27MPG on recent long highway trip). I love the spacious interior of this sedan. The leg room, adjustable seat, and telescopic steering wheel are a big plus for me since I am 6 2. The radio display that comes with navigation system is great but I was surprised to find that the FM station (station ID, song title, etc.) information was not displayed. Its one of those things that once youve had it; you miss when it is not available. I can live without it though. Overall very satisfied with the car.
my 2nd Accord EX-V6
This is my second Accord EX-V6 in less than 10 months. Of course, it was the first Accord's quality led me into getting the second one. Comparing the price I paid--around $400 more than my 05. I have to say this is a GOOD deal, VSA, 17" wheel, better retuned suspension/less road noise, new tail design... Am I totally happy with the new one? Not quite! The first day got it home, only one hour after driving it home (35 miles on highway), it dies, will not start. Temp is almost 80 degrees, not living at high altitude area, unknown reason... I was so frustrated that I need to call for tow truck at the first day of ownership! It was solved with "flooding" solution.
One sweet car, once again
Had a 2004 LX and enjoyed it greatly. When I went to buy a new one in 2005 the price had gone up so much I bought a nice American car. Honda made a deal again this year, I am so glad to be back in a Honda. Fit, finish, handling & gas milage are unequalled in supposedly "comparable models."
Awesome Ride
I just bought the SE about a week ago. I love the way it handles. It is my first Accord and I love it. I would not go back to any other car. I traded in my Jetta for this Accord, and tell you what, it's like a HUGE upgrade. Sure I miss the heated mirrors that I had on Jetta and the sunroof. But I will settle for an Accord without them.
Rocky start, but good now
The folks in marysville ohio forgot to torque the front suspension properly when building the car. It took the dealer a couple tries to fix this. Car drives great, acceleration is quick, first tank of gas yielded 34.5 mpg (engine is still breaking in). I am very pleased with fuel economy. Manual trans is the way to go. My wife has a 4cyl auto accord and the manual accelerates stronger. Handles and brakes well. Love the value of the se model. Well balanced car in terms of acceleration/mpg. Highly recommend replacing rear speakers with boston acoustics from crutchfield.
Love my Honda
I just brought this car on Tues (5/31). I have the LX-V6 model and I love it. It's quieter than my Camry and the ride is smooth as well. If you're looking for a dependable car try this one-You won't be sorry.!!
Forget the Toyota Camry
I purchased four Hondas in the past five years and this Accord it is one of the best. I did a lot of research between the 06' Camry LE and the Honda Accord SE. The thing I never like about Toyota it is their interior design and the fact that you must pay extra for safety features like Curtains Air Bags (standar even in the Accord's cheapest model) Also, my wife calls the Camry an eldest peoples car (meaning the design it is not appealing to her) Also you will get more horse power and more torque. Excellent performance while driving. The Accord SE interior makes the Camry looks like an old Yugo. I got a bad back and the support on the seat is great.
Great, but wish for just a wee bit more
In two words GREAT CAR. Good drive, handling and has most of the interior features one needs. When compared to the 07 Camry....much better ride/handling. I do not need to feel like I am driving a boat like a camry and I am satisfied with the space available as I do not have a tall family... Wish for some features namely MP3/WMA playback, automatic height adjustment, outside temperature gauge and this is cause the competion(Toyota 07) offers them for the same price..and I did have to compromise on these features for better ride/handling.
My dream car
I've driven Hondas for years, but this is my first brand new car. I was pretty sure I wanted the Accord, but I did drive other cars to be fair. This car is so comfortable, gets better mileage than the sticker says. Who needs extras when everything I could want just came with the car. I'm sure I will be as happy with this car in 15 years, when I still plan to be driving this car, as I am right now.
Best of the Best
The bottom line is this is the best car ever built for the price, and in its class. It is fun to drive.
No brainer......it's a Honda
Tried to decide between this Honda and a Mazda 6. I made the right decision. The build quality is far superior over the Mazda. Gas mileage is great and the 160 hp motor does fine in traffic and on the highway. Don't make a mistake and buy something else.
Going Japanese
I always had Chevy. I was lucky with them, but the prices, the quality are not the same. I love my new Honda. Everything about it. Just have to be careful, because when I look the speed is more than the limit.
Arizona Accord
This is my 4th Honda. As expected, an excellent car in quality and performance. The redesign of the 2006 makes the care look even better.
GOOD
this is a great car, it lives up to expectation, this is my first purchase of a honda product, i am extremely pleased with this vehciles and its dependability.
2006 Accord EX V-6
Traded in my 2004 Civic EX Coupe for the 2006 Accord EX. This is the nicest car I have ever owned. I am a bit concerned about the current gas mileage because I commute ~110 mi/day in DC traffic but otherwise a wonderful vehicle. My family helped me choose the car so we bought a Sedan. I held out for the V-6, 6- speed manual transmission for some mid- life excitement. The price was $5k below sticker price and below dealer cost so this is definetly a good deal for us. The 6-speed MT takes some getting used to in reference to the 5- speed. Hard to locate middle gears sometimes. Handles well in varied weather and road conditions.
Best Mid-Size Sedan
You can't beat this car for the money. No American made car i had even caddys are this well put together.I have 4000 miles on it no rattles or squeaks. My only gripe is that the radio sounds fuzzy on certain stations.
Just the Best
It has been 10 years since I owned my last Honda Accord and I wonder why I ever strayed, I felt comfortable the minute I sat in my new Accord. It handles and corners on a dime, it is just so responsive. Ive had 29 miles to the gallon, which I did not expect. Trunk space , leg room, luxurious interior, fabulous resale value. What more can anyone ask?....maybe four wheel drive. Well, cant have everything.
Poor man's BMW
Don't believe the estimated mpg. I consistently get 26mpg city/hwy & 31 hwy. This V6 is fast, comfortable & fun to drive. It doesn't handle quite as well in the corners as my previous car, 1995 BMW 525i, but would blow the doors off it. You do notice road noise at hwy speeds & the ride is a little stiff, feeling the bumps in the road, but that could be the original tires. It handles well in snow even with original tires. The interior & dash are well designed to keep controls simple and easy to reach. I'm a 6'2" male & have plenty of leg & head room.
Love My Honda's
This is my 6th Accord, and they keep getting better, but less imaginative and lately always seem behind the curve. Wish Honda could do more about the road noise, the car could use some soundproofing; The gear shifter could be sleeker, sexier not sticking up so high; Offer better and more extior colors mixup the exterior and interior colors, would like to have gotten the satin silver with tan intior; do not like the painted bumper they scratch up to easily; and do love the realiability and quality.
Just my assessment
Overall Nice car. Have some annoying squeaks from the dashpot when cold. Some rattle from the right side also. Appears to be from the glove compartment. Good gas mileage. Quick heat. Nice stereo. Price has dropped since last year. You probably can buy them for at least 500 below the dealer invoice, around $19,400, maybe less.
