Worth The Wait
This car is incredible! The first time Honda has produced a six speed in a four door, what a pleasure to drive. Its quick, responsive, fun to drive, no comparison to anything remotely close in price range. I ordered a Carbon Bronze with Ivory interior, this car looks sharp. The close ratio six speed, what a trill to drive. Its like driving an S2000 with four doors! The clutch is alot easier than the previous coupe 6 speed manual transmission, not as touchy, much much smoother. My first tank of gas, I averaged 23.6 mpg, combination city and highway 50/50.
My first Honda
This is the first Honda I have owned. I purchased the VP. It had all the safety features I was looking for in a car. Features that came standard and not optional as in most american cars.

60,000 miles later
I just got 60,000 miles on my Accord without a single problem with an average of 28 mph- I drive mostly highway. This is definitely a worry-free car. I posted an all 10's review a few days after I bought it and now I can say it definitely has met my expectation. At least once per day during my commute, I wonder why would somebody buy anything else but Honda (I mean in the same category).
mom swaps minivan
Tired of driving Ford minivan to commute everyday. Pleasure to drive. Love the moonroof!14 year old daughter thought it was a "sexy" car for her mom. The red color is great! Love the smooth ride and volume controls on the steering wheel.
Imagine More 4 Less
That's right! Honda has done it time and time again, we recevied more for less for our dollars. This is our third Honda. 1st two were Civics, and this time my wife wanted an upgrade so we considered and purchased the Accord EX-L. Considered Acura, Toyota, Volvo, but glad we stayed with Honda. Unbelievable power, response, and smoothness from the 2.4L 4 cyl. due in part to the technological advancements like the "Drive by Wire" throttle control. This is the same engine that's in the Acura TSX de-tuned but for $5-6K less. Feels like a little V- 6. Great gas mileage and handling. Love the leather. Yes, we did receive more for less!
Drive this car
Great car except for road noise coming up through floor. The Acura TL has the same problem. Oh well, you can't have everything. Car is very smooth. Transmission is good but there is a gate to push through to get it over to 5th and 6th and another for reverse. One for reverse is all that is necessary for most drivers. Sound system is very good. Rear seat room is great.
Great Car
First off, through Mercury insurance the SE is cheaper than an EX and an LX. Don't know why or how but it is! For 1500-2000 more we could have purchased the EX, but for better rims and a moonroof it wasn't worth it. We went from a 2004 Civic to this, and must say that its the best decision ever. Love the new body style, especially the upgraded rear tail-lights. The Graphite Pearl color is flawless as well.
2006 Accord EX V-6 6-Speed
The 6-Speed is awesome plus there hardly any on the road that are like this. Gives people a shock when they find out its a 6-Speed.
Repeat Accord Owner
I am very pleased with my Accord, Nothing but the best in workmanship and quality. The four banger (2006) is amazingly fast, hard to believe it is a four cylinder; very quick acceleration. This is my second accord traded 2001 vp,the best decision so far. The standard features are great!!! DRL's (Daytime Running Lamps), LED brake Lamps, Heated seats and mirrors, 8 air bags, 4 disc brakes, 6-CD changer stereo,Alarm, Best crash test results in class, and most of all best quality, reliability, and luxury for a honda. First day took a 500 mile trip (Round Trip) and it drove great...Test drove both cars 4- cyclinder and V6, both were great decided on the four because of the quick acceleration.Get 1
One SWEET Ride
I bought this car in Carbon Bronze on Jan 27 and I simply LOVE IT!! I own a civic and this Accord felt like I was getting re-acquainted with an old friend that can talk back. The voice activated features really help sell the car. The buttons are all in easy reach and everything is simple to use. The ride quality is excellent and the Michelin tires do not disappoint in the rain. The navigation is very good. I have gotten very comfortable with my heated seats and XM satellite radio as well. The leather is firm and supportive and the climate control makes sure you're always feeling nice and cozy inside. I also like the variable wiper speed that adjusts to the speed of the vehicle..really cool.
We are now a Honda Family
We ended up purchasing the 2006 Accord after comparing it to the Mazda6, Camry, Jetta, and Altima. After looking at the build quality and enjoyment of driving, we narrowed it down to the 6 and the Accord. Since we already own a 2003 Honda Pilot, we know the quality of the Pilot. I was concerned about some of the 6 quality and didn't like the painted accents. So far, I do not regret it one bit. Who knew a 4 cyl. could have this much pickup and to go from a Pilot and a Jeep Cherokee, 30mpg has been a very welcome surprise.
2006 Honda Accord LX Special Edition
I really like this car, the special edition is the way to go with the alloy wheels and 6 disc cd changer and audio controls on the steering wheel this car is quite a deal. It drives well especially on highways and accelerates quickly without being overpowering. It is very sporty. I had a choice between this car and the 2006 Camry and I am very happy with my choice; the Camry made me feel older and it was boring. I will never buy anything other than Honda and Acura.
New Accord over TSX and used cars
The Accord is stable and agile, but not overly sporty. The five speed shifts smoothly and linked with the four cylinder gets me to and above speed fast enough. I have so many favorite features (see below) that ownership has been wonderful. The controls and interior look great and work with high quality precision. This car has satisfied my hot buttons - quality, value, safety, economy, performance, and space.
Honda All the Way!!!!
Great car!!!! I love it!!!! For the last 2 years I had been driving a Volvo S80 T6 that kept breaking down on me. Finally, I said enough is enough, I went back to Honda. My Honda drives better than my Volvo did. The styling is great, the interior is great, and the ride is awesome. I missed driving a stick shift, so I had to get my new Accord with a stick, although I could have gotten the V6-6 speed (didn't want to pay for the extra gas with all the driving that I do) but the 4 cylinder 166 hp is great. Nice get up and go. Way to go Honda, same great car that I have come to know and love.
Satisfied Honda Driver for 8 years
Nice car. Handles very well. It is easy to avoid possible accidents, road debris, etc. Accelerates well considering its a four cylinder. It has a excellent air filtration system.
We Love Honda Accords
This is our third Honda Accord and we still have a 4 door 1998 Accord in excellent condition. We sold a 1993 model, still in great shape, to buy this one. It's very pleasant to drive, nice feel to it, comfortable. We love the way the Accord handles.
Outstanding Mix of Sport & Luxury
Had an 06 Accord Hybrid on order but decided to cancel when it kept being delayed with no information from Honda. Really glad that I got the V6 6-speed instead! Mileage: 2622 miles driven at last fill-up (odometer, not navi miles); 93.502 gallons of regular=28.04 mpg average. Lowest 24.7 mpg on first tank. Highest 30.1 mpg. Mixed highway/city; no trips so far. Consistent 30+ mileage possible by avoiding full-throttle starts and limiting freeway speeds to 80 mph. I generally drive for mileage & let off the gas as soon as I see a light turn red. 6-speed is great. I like the shifter as well or better than my 04 S2000 (now sold). Combination of handling, ride & performance is perfect for me.
I love my accord!
This is a great car. Fun to drive, responds whenever you ask it to, and its luxurious, too. It also gets great gas mileage, from about 25 in the city to 40 on the highway, to 35 on the highway going at 85 miles an hour with the AC on. I love being seen in it, and the H-badge is proof that its never gonna break down. Best 22 grand I ever spent!
Sporty and Practical
I am so glad I waited to get the 2006. The 6 speed in it is so much fun, Honda was smart to get up with the times! The comments and looks that you get on this case are always great. This case is quick, and fun to drive- it is a little bit of sports case in a sedan!
Well built car
I was in need to get a new car and I had made my decision on the Corolla. I tried Hundai, used Lexus, Toyota, Mazda and I decided to visit a Honda dealer and figured for a couple thousand more I could buy a much better car. You can feel a difference from your normal car and the Accord. If you don't mind flipping your rear view mirror at night time, you will save a lot of money for the exact same car.
When will the Big 3 ever get a clue?
The LX-SE has great features in an outstanding car for decent money. You can't go wrong if you drive tons of business miles. Good feel from the road without being harsh. Great acceleration for a 4 cyl. Excellent resale value down the road.
Home Run
I was a former owner of a 2004 EX V6, which was totaled in February with minimal damage to myself and passengers. I took delivery of my EX-L in March and I can safely say that I will keep this car for at least 7 years. I like the pep of the big 4-cylinder engine, the smooth ride balanced with good handling, upscale interior and exterior, and the steadily improving gas mileage.
Phenomenal Vehicle!
I absolutely love my Accord EX-L. I traded in a Chevy Blazer for this car and I'm glad I did! The Accord handles so incredibly well and is appointed in such a fashion to make you think you are driving a luxury vehicle. I went with the leather model to give it that extra touch of class, and it does it quite well. Everything inside the vehicle makes driving it so incredibly fun. I find myself just taking it out for a quick spin on the open road. It's hard to believe it's a family sedan.
Solid Family Car
The 06 Accord is a solid reliable family sedan that should fit the needs of most anyone. It is not the lowest price option but I believe it is the best value.
Accord Feedback
I went from a 2001 Accord V-6 to a 2006 Accord V-6. Wow. Ride noise is almost non-existent! Car is very responsive and power is there when you need it. Handling is great. This car is actually fun to drive and it doesn't seem like work! I don't get tired of driving this thing. Stereo is VERY nice for stock. Put a K&N air filter in it and got an increased 40 miles per tank of gas! Truly a wonderful car to buy if you have to drive and you want the comfort of an expensive luxury car without the huge price tag! (My other car is an 05 F-150)
Best Honda Yet
this is our third honda....bought an 02 civic ex for our son, and had an 03 CRV ex....they were great cars....traded in the CRV for an accord, mainly for a little better gas mileage, cheaper insurance, and a little more luxury....so far we've been VERY happy with our accord ex-l
Great car, needs a few changes
This car is great in some ways but can use improvement. The seats are a bit hard but comfortable. The leather is great. The ride is stiff. Handiling is great. The car is quiet and shifts into other gears smoothly with great pickup. I think the car should have been made a bit larger and the ride should be smoother.
1st Honda I've owned
I just bought my 1st Honda. My last car was an '02 Toyota Camry. I really liked that car and it was difficult for me to decide between the '07 camry and the '06 accord. I bought the accord due to it's exceptional interior, its quality, and the price I received. I very much enjoy the sunroof, the leather seats, the xm radio, and the interior in general. The only thing that I miss with the camry is the smooth ride. The Accord is quiet and smooth until you go over bumps, and it's more rougher than I'm used to. But, I think it will be easy to overlook that with all the other fine features of the Accord.
If it weren't so quiet...
I love everything about this car. It fits my family needs and is extremely fun to drive. The ONLY draw back, is that it is so quiet inside at low RPMs (idle) that I tend to misjudge where the friction point is in the clutch! So I've been tending to over rev the car from time to time, when starting out. But who can complain right? Its perfect for me. Also, the "little gadgets" that other auto manufacturers put into their cars that end up driving the costs up, are not included in the Accord.
Excellent Value
We purchased our 2006 Honda Accord LX SE 5 speed after driving and comparing it to comparably equipped Chevrolet Malibu, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima and Mazda 6. We found that the Accord compares most favorably overall when compared to the competion. Its ride, handling and performance of the I-VTEC 4cyl is tough to beat, its a very comfortable good handling quiet, fun to drive sedan. Our experience with Honda's has been very positive, our 98 Accord which we still own, has over 90,000 miles and has its original clutch, rear tires and front and rear brake pads. No problems whatsover and it returns around 30mpg in mostly in town driving, we think this 06 model will do even better.
'06 Accord SE
Still a nice car which honda cars are famous for that's why I opted for this car. Unfortunately I have some quality built issues with my car like rattling noises coming from the trunk, clicking noises coming from the left rear passenger compartment probably which houses the side curtain head airbag. The glove compartment doesn't align properly, Gaps on the exterior panel, Steering overcrowning on the road. Kinda dissapointed with these for a brand new Honda Accord. Will take to the dealer and I'll see how the service department performs customer service.
"Nothing But Class"
Best in its class! I was so impressed with the EX-L that I sold my Lincoln LS to get one. This is a complete-package automobile: affordable luxury, touring ability, and fuel economy. Kudos to Honda for consistent quality and continuous improvement.
What a great auto!
What an amazing auto! The V6 doesn't hold back, and the 6-speed manual transmission is so much fun! Gas mileage is exceptional for such a poweful car, and Vehicle Stability Assist really helps when taking those corners a little faster than you probably should. The Nav system adds a lot more fun, and is amazingly accurate and helpful. Forget BMW, Honda's got this one!
My 2nd Accord
Drove in with my 02 just to see what I could get for a trade. 3 hours later I was driving home in an 06. Got an excellent deal and love the feel of the car. More powerful and sporty feeling than my 02.
06 Accord Rocks
A lot of car for the money. Great safety systems including standard side curtain air bags. Huge Trunk. Timeless design.
Get the best !
We did extensive research (and test drives) prior to buying our Accord EX. Moving from a F-150 Supercrew (3 of them over last 8 years) to a car is a big adjustment. Given the prospect of $3/gl gas again this is a no brainer and we knew we had to do something. This is our 2nd Accord and we forgot how much fun they are! The 4cyl engine is extremely peppy and the cabin is super quiet. Ergonomics are great and the build quality is very nice. If you're looking for a mid-size sedan the Accord should definitely be on your short list. Yes, everyone has one... but ask yourself why. Just look at the reviews and you'll know. BTW, would recommend Milan V-6 as a strong 2nd choice!
Honda-sized
This is our second Accord. We switched from mostly Chevys and Buicks. They were good cars, but the Accords are excellent. They are refined in terms of styling and operation, economical to operate, and just a pleasure to drive.
First Impressions
This is our first Honda and after the first two weeks we are very happy with it. It has amazing power for a 4 cylinder. I have driven mainly 6 cylinder cars but i think a 6 cylinder in an Accord would be overkill. We got 26 mpg on our 1st tank which mainly consisited of city driving. The Honda tradition of building quality cars is reflected in our vehicle. All the controls are just where they should be and fall easily to hand. The Honda Accord would be a good choice for anyone looking for a reliable car which also gets very good gas mileage. This may be my first Honda but if it continues to impress it won't be my last.
Awesome new car
I bought the 2006 Accord EX-L with navi to replace my stolen '95 Accord EX. I can't believe how much technology have grown since my last car. The car is extremely fun to drive. Handles well, performance is great for a 4 cylinders, all the buttons are easily accessible. The moonroof is very slow to open/close though. I can open & close my moonroof in my 95 Accord approx. 3-4 times before the 06 completely opened or closed.
Great Car
Everyone told me that Honda was a great car, now I'm a believer. A Nice smooth ride handles very well. This is my first Honda and I know I will be a return customer.
My First Honda
I have been in Fords my whold life and this is my first Honda. I will be in Honda's from now on as it is going now. This is a beautiful car that drives great! It has the smoothest shifter I have even in more than 20 years of driving manuals. The car is a pleasure to drive and gets fantastic gas milege on the road and in town. A Very Comfortable Automobile. I test drove a Mazda 6 and a Nissan Altima and I have to say I am pleased I decided to go with the Honda!
2006 Souped-Up Accord Rocks
This car is more than I expected it would be. The transition from gear to gear is exceptionally smooth, and the car seems to float along the road. It's quick too, I was doing over 90 on the interstate without even knowing it (but a state trooper knew it when he clocked me with his radar gun). Jerk. The car has endless features too, from the XM radio, to the Navigation computer, to multitudes of voice- activated commands, and the fact that the computer tells you when you need an oil change, tire rotation, etc. by keeping track of your driving, maintiaing the car is a breeze. Plus, I'm averaging over 30 miles per gallon on my way to work (which is not all highway). Sweet ride!
Hard to get more for your money
My experience got off to a rough start. On my drive home, the transmission popped out of first gear. Took it to the dealer and had to twist their arm to admit there was a problem - then had the car in the shop for 10 days so they could replace first gear. After a couple months the problem appears to be solved. That said, the transmission shifts like a dream. Why anyone drives automatics is truly a mystery to me. The interior is great and roomy, nav and xm are great - especially the xm. I do wish the car had beefier brakes and better (more sporty) tires. But I can always upgrade in the future. Gas mileage is about 25 in mixed driving and 32 hwy. Engine is powerful and smooth.
One Dependable Car
I purchased this 2006 Accord 4 cyl automatic new and the vehicle has 205,000 miles on it. Only routine maintenance has been required so far. It's one great dependable car. I would purchase another car, but this one is too dependable.
New Accord owner very happy so far
I've had the car for just less than 2 weeks so maybe I'm a bit premature for a truly accurate review. E.g. since I'm still breaking it in I really can't comment on the power/performance of the V6. Been taking it easy so far! But I will say that coming out of a 98Civic I am enjoying the extra punch. The reasons for wanting this car to begin with still ring true now that I own one: proven H reliability, conservative style with a bit of flair and a touch of luxury, a great mix of practicality and fun-to-drive. Not to mention the notch up on the sexy meter with the new 6M! On the negative side the brakes are a bit soft and the suspension/wheels a bit hard. You will feel the bumps.
Words do nothing...
I must say, this car has more than lived up to expectations. It is far more refined than others in it's class, and it's so nice having the performance, luxury, and affordability all in one car. My V6 is getting 27 mpg on average. The heated seats and mirrors are wonderful, and the dash layout is very effective, along with the steering wheel audio controls. The brakes really are a bit softer than I like, but the rest of the performance makes up for it. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a bit of luxury with performance, and practicality, at a price others would pay 6k more for. This Accord is the best yet.
Love my 2006 Honda LX SE
After 2 Civic's, 1 Odyssey, and 1 Del Sol, I finally purchased an Accord. I've been in love with Honda's since the mid-80's, and this Accord is probably my favorite vehicle yet. It is beautiful, and I love driving it. It is such a comfortable ride.
I "upgraded" from an Acura
In 2000, I bought a new Acura TL. In 2003, I bought a new Acura CL Type S. After 5 transmissions, I bought an '06 Accord. It was a very wise decision. The Honda quality is legend, and in my case, it has lived up to it's acclaim. The 2.4 engine is surprisingly quick and responsive. Handling is superb. Dollar for dollar is a "best buy" as far as I'm concerned. I wanted something that was reliable, and the Honda line is known for reliablility. I went from an average 14 mpg of hi-test in the Acura to an average of 22 mpg of regular with the Accord, and as I said the 100 missing horses is not apparent. A great quiet ride and a comfortable interior with plenty of room. You can't go wrong. Buy it!
One Of The Best
I used to buy domestic cars but could never found one the had a balance of everything. This car makes driving 50 miles one way to work a dream. If u r looking 4 a midsize sedan this is the car to get.
No regrets whatsoever
It may exude practical, but it does it so well for around 20K. Excellent room for my tall family and it has surprisingly great performance for a four cyl (HP and MPG). I don't cringe when offering the rear seat to a tall person. It has reasonably tight drivabilty and you can feel the road. Fit and trim all seem flawless. Though a couple more options/features might be nice I won't complain about it. Nice wheels and grippy brakes (I don't understand negative reviews in this area). The engine compartment is spacious and orderly. I really appreciate the end result of Honda's effort in building a well engineered car that I enjoy looking at and can afford to own.
