Execllent first Honda
We really enjoy the car, ride, power, economy, leather heated seat. Quality of sound system. Storage is first rate as is the surprising trunk space.
Words do nothing...
I must say, this car has more than lived up to expectations. It is far more refined than others in it's class, and it's so nice having the performance, luxury, and affordability all in one car. My V6 is getting 27 mpg on average. The heated seats and mirrors are wonderful, and the dash layout is very effective, along with the steering wheel audio controls. The brakes really are a bit softer than I like, but the rest of the performance makes up for it. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a bit of luxury with performance, and practicality, at a price others would pay 6k more for. This Accord is the best yet.

Excellent Car!!
I traded in my old 00' Hyundai Elantra for this 06' Accord and I couldn't have made a better choice! I drive a lot, about 15k each year and the seats are so soft and comfy I could sleep in them! I definitely love the sunroof, steering wheel controls and black interior. Lots of compartments for storage as well. Obviously, isn't that great in the snow, so sadly I must trade in for a SUV soon. Otherwise I would keep this baby forever!
Think I am going to Hyundai
I bought my Accord new in 2007. The car went into the dealership to have rear driver door adjusted due to air & water leak and also a faulty center console door shortly after the purchase. Both were repaired & are fine now. The car has not given me any other mechanical problems. Just the normals replaced battery, tires, and brakes. Approaching 100k so not sure how much longer I will keep this car for. Even though I like the styling of the latest Accords, there seems to be the same cheap interior Honda is & has been known for. I will probably switch over to Hyundai since they've come a long ways & are winning awards these days!
Excellent car
Honda's are simply the best! Fantastic gas mil. (31 combined city/hwy), smooth ride, plenty of get up and go for a 4 cylinder-3rd Honda I've had and they keep getting better each time.
Comparing 06 Accord to 07 Camry
First Honda purchase with a 06 LX SE. Looked extensively at 07' Camry and decided on Honda primarily due to interior and cost. Driven for 1k miles so far and really like the car; however, ride comfort and road noise are less than acceptable and no comparison to Camry. I am quite shocked at the ride quality. Good value for the money, but would encourage Camry if the ride quality is important.
Smoothest 4 Cylinder I've Driven
I couldn't believe I was driving a 4 cylinder car that gets 25 mpg in-town and 35+ mpg highway after hitting the gas pedal of our 2006 Honda Accord 4 Cylinder Special Edition. The acceleration is smooth and assured, rivaling that of many 6 cylinder engines I have tried. The areas to be aware of are that the Accord sits low to the ground, and compared to past Accords has a little more of a sporty feel to it. The compromise is that on rough roads and cracks, there is some jitteriness, but the performance won me over.
My Accord is Not Yours!
I love this car thr fuel economy is great and fun to drive never lets you down, and looks good too, not as good as BMW 3, but it is roomier and a lot more reliable.
Always a Honda
With the exception of a "between cars car" I have always driven an Accord and the newest model is yet another example of why this is one of the top 3 selling cars in America. Design, quality, reliability - all top notch. Very smooth ride that will run forever at a price most families can afford.
Honda accord lx se--an awesome vehicle
This car is awesome! For starters, it offers much more than its competitor (the camry) for about the same price. Also, the interior is much more modern (similar to the acura's) the accord handles the road like a higher priced sedan. The comfortable sport seats give you the support you need. My one hour commute seems more like a 20 minute drive. The car stereo sounds great and actually makes you "feel the music" quality is all over this car (too much to mention here). If you are in the market for a midsize sedan, then look no further, the accord is the one-you won't be dissapointed. You can thank me later for sharing these thoughts. I "upgraded" from an Acura
In 2000, I bought a new Acura TL. In 2003, I bought a new Acura CL Type S. After 5 transmissions, I bought an '06 Accord. It was a very wise decision. The Honda quality is legend, and in my case, it has lived up to it's acclaim. The 2.4 engine is surprisingly quick and responsive. Handling is superb. Dollar for dollar is a "best buy" as far as I'm concerned. I wanted something that was reliable, and the Honda line is known for reliablility. I went from an average 14 mpg of hi-test in the Acura to an average of 22 mpg of regular with the Accord, and as I said the 100 missing horses is not apparent. A great quiet ride and a comfortable interior with plenty of room. You can't go wrong. Buy it!
Great Value and Fun for the Money
I've owned 7 Accords, and this version is absolutely the finest yet. I've also owned Mazda, Toyota and Ford, but never found a vehicle as refined and reliable as Honda. I purchased the Accord Sedan V6 with the 6 speed manual transmission, and this baby can move!!! Great ride, control, and comfort. Highly recommended!
My Honda Review
I love it! It is a cool design and lots of fun to drive. Great on gas too.
Without question, the best midsize car.
My experience with this car has been superb. The only other car that I looked at was the 07 Camry. The Accord just seems nicer all around. The ride and handling tradeoff is excellent. The iVtec four is super smooth and has plenty of power even with the auto. I love the LED tail lights and the new front end, very classy. The seats are very comfortable for long drives. I have to drive employees around town and they all comment on how nice it is. The car is very addictive to drive. I find myself driving it just to drive it and wishing my commute was longer. It is always a pleasure to get in and drive this car. I always look forward to it. Nice looking (black with beige interior).
The best car on the road!
I was a little skeptical about buying a brand new car. However, after purchasing this one, I have not a single regret. I absolutely love this vehicle. It's size is perfect, rides quiet, and has superb handling. Very reliable, powerful... simple yet elegant. And surprisingly, the Accord stereo system is unbelievable. It's far better than Honda's Acura TL! It's an absolute beauty all the way around.I would recommend the '06 Accord to anyone who was looking for unsurpassed quality and style.
My first Accord
Shopped around looking at Accord, Camry, Mazda 6. Hands down, the best overall value with standard safety features. I've only had it for 3 weeks now. Plenty of pep in the 4 cyl. First round trip of 520 miles, mostly freeway, I averaged 38+ mpg w/5 speed manual (but I'm a conservative driver). Handling is responsive but the ride is a little stiff. Plenty of leg and head room and ample room in back seat for 2 passengers.
Best decision I made
Just bought my '06 Honda Accord LX/SE 5 speed manual and I absolutely love it. It is the the best decision I made. I was originally looking at the Civic, but got such an awesome deal for the Accord. It is much nicer than the Civic and much more roomier. Although I haven't driven it hard yet, the handling and shifting is awesome. Honda put together an excellent package for the money.
Excellent car.
We have had our car for three weeks now. Got the carbon bronze color. Think it is beautiful inside and out. Decided for the V6 and we are glad we did. The engine is silent and the shifts very smooth. So far, not a rattle or any annoying noise. This is a comfortable car and you get a lot for your money. Several people have come up to ask us about the car, and we got compliments on its looks.
Wolf in Sheep's Clothes
Great sporty sedan with room. This car exceeds all expectations. Coming out of a 2001 BMW 325XI, the Accord with 6MT gives up nothing to the BMW in handling and exceeds it in power and driving fun. This car is 95% the same car as the Acura TL but loads less money. Get the EX sport package, it is well worth the money to give the car a little better appearance. Also added the splash guards and full nose mask. Got all these accessories for about $900, MSRP was $2200 installed. Paid $300 over invoice for the car.
First Impressions
This is our first Honda and after the first two weeks we are very happy with it. It has amazing power for a 4 cylinder. I have driven mainly 6 cylinder cars but i think a 6 cylinder in an Accord would be overkill. We got 26 mpg on our 1st tank which mainly consisited of city driving. The Honda tradition of building quality cars is reflected in our vehicle. All the controls are just where they should be and fall easily to hand. The Honda Accord would be a good choice for anyone looking for a reliable car which also gets very good gas mileage. This may be my first Honda but if it continues to impress it won't be my last.
"as opposed to Toyota Camry"
When we bought our Honda we were shopping for our 3rd Camry, however, the Toyota salesman was more interested in his newspaper so we went across the street to May Honda in Waco. Kind of a lucky break, The Honda Accord is quieter and has a quieter "more substantial" feel. For a 4 cylinder auto, I have never felt as though I needed more power, the 4 banger does really well in town nd on the highway. I have 130k miles on the odometer and it is still as quiet, responsive and comfortable as it was when new. The only thing negative I can think of is that the tires have to be "V" rated and those tires are expensive, noisy, wear fast. "W" rated tires would have been the right choice.
Best family sedan for a young family
I love my new Accord. The Special Edition package has enough feature for me. No need to go overboard with the EX. I have been driving Hondas all my life, so my review might be a little biased. 88 Accord, 90 Civic, 92 Accord, and a 2000 Civic. I test drove the competition before purchasing my Accord. None compared to the Accord when weighing features, reliability, value, and performance against price. The engine is amazing for a 4 cylinder. Plenty of power. I like out running all the "punks" in thier tuner cars. The 5 speed automatic is so smooth. Drops gears fast for brisk acceleration. No regrets.
Great Car
Everyone told me that Honda was a great car, now I'm a believer. A Nice smooth ride handles very well. This is my first Honda and I know I will be a return customer.
My Honda 2006
My Honda VP 2006 Accord was purchased new. I was disappointed in the gas mileage and the quality. Before, I had a Honda Accord DX 1991-2006, this Accord was built solid. But, 2006 has noticeable road noise, doesn't turn as well. It's like Honda wanted to save money by building lighter and cheaper car. Overall 7.5.
Good value but a few faults
This Honda Accord showed that the Honda line came a long way. The standard features in the car are what you would expect from a luxury car. This vehicle takes the bumps well and has tight handling. Pick-up is adequate. The seats are supportive and comfortable and leg room is not an issue. Trunk room is decent, and the stereo system is A+ considering its standard. The heated seats are also a plus. The biggest negative about the car is its weight. Its way to light and you can easily feel the smallest breeze when driving above 65 MPH.
Very satisfied - quality vehicle
I've had my Accord for about 4 months, and recently returned from a 1200+ mile trip, averaging 35 mpg (mostly highway). There is more than adequate power for me with the 4cyl engine (and use of regular gas is a plus). Even though the drive is on the sporty/stiff side, it's quite comfortable. The interior is tastefully and thoughtfully designed. I feel like I'm in a luxury sports sedan without the luxury price. Not a stand-out car (seems like I'm always passing one on the street), but a solid/reliable vehicle. If only it weren't one of the top stolen vehicles in my city...
Best Car For The Money
Honda has done it again! 250 horsepower and still 30 mpg! I opted for the navigation simply because of the eye candy and the great voice recognition system that comes along with it. It has superior handling to the toyota avalon and also superior performance to the ford five hundred. I spent 3 weeks flip flopping between dealers and researching the pros and cons to each vehicle and this is by far the best for the money. You can easily spend 35,000 on a car with all the features this has but you dont need to, its all here in this 30k car! The leather is very soft and the seats very comfortable. Because of the color I chose I got wood trim and it is top quality! I would greatly recommend this car
My 2nd Accord
Drove in with my 02 just to see what I could get for a trade. 3 hours later I was driving home in an 06. Got an excellent deal and love the feel of the car. More powerful and sporty feeling than my 02.
Best value for the price.
I looked at the Sonata, Camry (07), Passat, and Mazda 6 before deciding on the Accord LX SE. Although some had more equipment for the money, they all lacked in either quality, fit, finish, ride, performance, or road noise. In fact, I was really surprised when Honda's 4cyl out performed most of the of the competitor's 6cyl models. This given, that fuel economy is pretty close to EPA estimates. With 80% of my miles being in town, I am getting right at 26 MPG. My only problem so far is getting used to driving a manual again. The engine is so quiet that I sometimes forget to shift. Although this is my first experience with Honda they have certainly earned my respect and future business.
Good car
This is my first Honda. So far everyone in my family has one. I test drove the 2006 Honda Accord EX and the the '07 Toyota Camry LE. I preferred the way the Honda felt, plus it has more HP than the Camry. My 8 yr. old daughter also prefered the Accord over the Camry because the backseat was more comfortable for her with out a headrest pushing her head forward.
Honda Accord
I own a 1990 Honda Accord (that's 16 years) and have 180,000+ miles on it, also purchased at Manchester. Upgrading to a 2006 was the best decision I could have made. The exterior and interior are great, the safety features (including the steel beams in the doors and the all around air bags) were all I needed to make my decision. I traded in a Olds Intrigue which was the last American car I will own.
My First Honda
I have been in Fords my whold life and this is my first Honda. I will be in Honda's from now on as it is going now. This is a beautiful car that drives great! It has the smoothest shifter I have even in more than 20 years of driving manuals. The car is a pleasure to drive and gets fantastic gas milege on the road and in town. A Very Comfortable Automobile. I test drove a Mazda 6 and a Nissan Altima and I have to say I am pleased I decided to go with the Honda!
Honda-sized
This is our second Accord. We switched from mostly Chevys and Buicks. They were good cars, but the Accords are excellent. They are refined in terms of styling and operation, economical to operate, and just a pleasure to drive.
Luv my honda
Bought a new Honda not expecting a whole lot when test driving the LX 4 cylinder. Was pleasantly surprised by the power that was available! Beautiful car and comfortable interior. Fun to drive!
Road noise
Great car, easy to use navigation, more comfortable seats than my CTS cad. Handles well, corners well. The only gripe at all is road noise. It's been undercoated twice, but road noise is more than today's modern cars should have. I know that Honda, with all their technology, should be able to make this car quieter.
VP 2.4
2006 has noticeable road noise. After new tires (Michelin), doesn't start as well. It's like Honda wanted to save money by building a lighter and cheaper car. Well it is made in America...
Picked the Accord
The Accord is kinda boring looking IMHO, both inside and out, but its quality is outstanding, it drives great, the 4 cyl. with auto is VERY responsive and a great performer, and there is no question that the Accords last 150,000 to over 250,000 miles with no problems - and that's what is most important to me.
good on power not on handle
Just bought 2006 LX V6 and drove 450 miles. Engine is good and has enough power, Nice quality inside and outside. City/Highway is about 20 mile/gallon. This car is not as solid as our 2003 VW passat on highway. The reason why we bought Accord is its history of reliability. Our 2003 VW Passat has too many problem although it is much more fun to drive than Accord. We almost sent Passat back to repair every three months. Our Acccord has too much road noise. It is a very soft driving car. When you push hard, first thing you feel is the "lag".
Hooked
I've been GM man for 40 yrs. My wife and I decided to take the jump to Honda. What a great car, the workmanship inside and out is superb. I was amazed at the performance of the 4cyl engine, great pick-up and great fuel economy. I'd advise those people who are uneasy about buying other than from the Big 3 auto makers to take the step to Honda, you will not regret it.
2006 Accord LX
I own a 1990 Honda Accord with 180,000 miles and am completely satisfied that I got my money's worth. So far, I have found nothing with my 2006 Honda Accord that I am not completely satisfied with, except maybe the color selections available.
Love my Accord
Great Car! This is the first Honda I have ever owned and I love it. I have owned my LX for one month now and have 3400 miles on it. The 4 cyl. is great. We drove 4 adults with lots of luggage and traveled over Colorado mountain passes and you couldn't believe how much power it had and the gas mileage was still 30 mpg. On one trip I got 38 mpg. I also got my 1st ticket in this car, it has so much power and fun to drive that I wasn't paying attention.
The Manual SE is one heck of a car
Traded my 03 Chevy Silverado ext cab for the Accord SE, was originally looking at a new Civic, but too small in back for 3 kids. This car rocks! My wife has an 04 Accord LX and she wishes the SE would have been offered then. You are basically getting an EX for much cheaper (minus the moonroof and nav). It has 4 wheel disc brakes, fancy cloth and carbon fiber trim, etc. The stick shift makes it feel like a small race car. The changes to the exterior make the car more sporty. The changes to the interior add luxury, but not much bells and whistles like on other cars in this price range. It is an awesome car - it's a Honda! Reliability, gas mileage, safety, and handling are reminders.
Pleasantly Surprised
Pros: The 4-cylinder engine has quicker response and more pick-up than I expected (and way more than the Nissan Altima 2.5). The interior is nice, not cheap (again unlike the Nissan Altima) and very comfortable both for me (at 5' and for my husband at 6'4"). The ride is quiet, smooth, and hugs the road. We were in the market for a fuel- efficient mid-size car and looked at the Altima and the Toyota Camry (our other car is a Toyota 4-Runner). Honda was our last stop because we weren't really interested in owning a Honda (everyone has one...), but one test drive changed our minds and we are pleasantly surprised everytime we drive somewhere!
2 weeks of pleasure
Minor updates for this mid-cycle change. I've had the car only 2 weeks, and just filled-up for the second time this morning. 31.5mpg in 70%hwy, 30%city driving. I can take or leave the XM radio, but the maintenance minder is a nice feature. The new wheels are difficult to clean (space between spokes too small).
My Accord
I love this car! It drives like a champ. The engine is so quiet that when I start the car, I second guess if it's on. It drives so nice and smooth. You really don't feel any bumps or pot holes. I love the sound system! It rocks! Installing XM radio was a wonderful idea! I love the look of the dash board and how every button is within reach. The buttons on the steering wheel was a great ideat. Over all I rate this car a 10! The price was more than I wanted to spend but I know I will have this car for many years! Honda is a trustworthy brand.
My Favorite Accord
I just traded in my 2004 CRV to get the new 2006 Accord LX. I have never loved a car like this one. It is a sheer pleasure to drive, the quality of the fit and finish is so great. I have been averaging around 26 mpg in the city with the air on in Las Vegas. I really love the new design of the back of the car. The car rides so quiet and it handles like a sports car. This is my second Accord and this is hands down the most fun to drive, even with the 4 cylinder. The instrumentation is clean and beautifully lit. This is the first car I have ever bought where there is absolutely no buyer remorse on any level.
2006 Honda Accord New Owner
Changing from a Durango to Honda Accord has been quite emotional & I'm still grieving but gas mileage is more important. New owner for 3 weeks; handling is okay but doesn't take bumps well. Going in for service b/c have recently noticed front glass appears to have come unglued?? - squeaking noise full length of glass next to hood when you go over bumps. If you like your music, make sure it gives the power you want. For me, depending on what you're listening to, sound doesn't go up high enough.
I Love This Car!
I just purchased my Honda Accord Ex, and it was love at first test drive. I recently had a Nissan Altima, and this is so much more comfortable. The ride is so smooth, and it's hard to believe that a 4 cyl engine is under the hood. It is so responsive. I really love the dashboard layout, as all the instruments are so convenient. The controls on the wheel are really nice. This is a lot of car for the dollar. It is the best deal out there. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a quality car, at an affordable price.
CRV to Accord transition
I'm very happy with my new Accord. Of course the oveall quality is first rate, as I expected after owning 2 CRVs for years. The first thing I did a few days after getting the new Accord was to take off on a 4000 mile road trip of seven western states inclding 9 national parks and monuments. I drove from sea level in Seattle up to 12,200 feet on trail ridge road Colorado, to the desert southwest, and then up the pacific coast, in all types of weather and temperature conditions. I drove on long flat interstates at 80 mph and up and down steep mountains at lower speeds. I used all features of the car. it performed flawlessly. I averaged 36.7 mpg overall. I highly recommend this car.
Excellent Value!!
I've only had it for a few weeks, but I am very impressed with it. I am rating reliability and fuel economy of 9 only based on Honda's reputation. I haven't gotten to really test the fuel economy. Sure it won't perform like a sports car, but compared to it's main competitor, the 06 camry, it blows it away in terms of style, standard features, and performance/handling. This is definitely a lot more fun to drive than the camry. The engine is quiet and the cabin is well insulated for noise. Build quality is superb, the controls feel very solid and the doors make a very satisfying whack when you close them. :) The seats are comfortable and provide solid support. I paid 18,926! Excellent value!!!
