Fun to Drive
I do a combination of city and highway driving. The car is fun to drive and is quiet. I am disappointed with the gas mileage, however, it has improved slightly over in the nine months I have had it. Another disappointment is (and this may be my fault) that the windows somehow open after I park and leave the vehicle. This has happened twice and once the interior got wet because it rained. The Navigation system needs tweaking. When entering addresses and changing the city it reverts back to California cities, and sometimes it doesn't take the information I try to enter.
A little bit more..
The 06 is just a little bit more of everything. A bit more powerful, a bit more quiet, a bit more sophisticated, a bit more styled, etc. I traded an 03 and the 06 is just a bit more refined.

Rollin' Along
I purchased my Black Honda Accord EX Leather/Navigation in late May, 2006. I love the look of the car. The seats are comfortable, and the steering feels just right. I get a lot of road noise, and the engine runs loud especially when accelerating. The ride is not as smooth as my Toyota Sienna. The dashboard dimmer light is in an akward position. The voice activation feature leaves much to be desired. Various commands not related to the a/c toggles the a/c on and off. Manual audio controls are needed. Trying to use the touch screen while driving is dangerous.
I Love This Car!
Had several SUV's in the past 7 years. Decided to downsize to my Honda due to gas prices and lack of driving excitement. Will not buy an SUV again. What can I say, its a wonderful car. I commute 70 miles per day, averaging 25 mpg from 65% highway, 35 % city driving. Great power, especially accelerating at highway speeds even though I must say, I test drove the Accord EX 4CYL model and found it to have more than enough power. I felt that the V6 had a nicer look though (larger wheels, dual exhaust). It has the feel of a very well made car. Great looking interior (tan leather, with fray/tan dashboard) and very comfortable power seats up front. Nice size car, and the new rear end looks great.
My First Accord
My first new car purchased and after five months of driving couldn't be happier with it. Overall its a solid car. Plenty of luxury for a nonluxury nameplate car. I decided to get the 6 cycl to be comparable to the power of my previous car a 93 Chrysler Concorde, but also for the better look of dual exhausts and stability control not offered in the 4 cycl. Love the driver friendly interior layout, from the white lighted dashboard to the intuitive controls. Folding down rear seats is rather cumbersome.
Best Sedan value
This is my 2nd Accord and my 4th Honda. I absolutely think they make the best cars you can buy. Fun to drive, most reliable, and low maintenance costs. If you are looking for a worry free fun car to drive that will last 10 or more years and hold its value the whole time, look no further than the Accord. I think this Accord is the best looking. They ruined the looks in 08.
Fuel economy?
My Accord is only 1,300 miles old, and I am consistently getting only 17 MPG when it claims to get 20 - 29. Is there something wrong here? I was expecting at least 22 MPG. I drive mostly short, city drives, but I still averaged only about 17 mpg on a tank of gas that included about 120 miles of highway driving at an average of 65 mph. Perhaps I will contact Honda to inquire. The driver's seat could be more cushy - it's a little stiff and thin feeling. Brakes are a tad grabby - wondering if that will subside over time. Other than those issues, I think it is a well made car and the drive is very sporty and solid.

Wrong size tires
This vehicle is equipped with the wrong size tires if you're looking for a car with a great ride. You feel every bump and even the smallest crack in the road. The tires on this Accord V-6, are the P215/50 R17 93V All-Season. After consulting with the tire manuf., they indicated to me in writing that these tires "will lack ride comfort, but give you more performance handling, this tire selected by Honda." I'm 62 yrs old and assumed the 2006 Honda would give a better ride and tire performance. The local Honda dealer refuses to swap the tires, and now I'm stuck with an $28,000 vehicle that lacks a comfortable ride.

Accord 2006
I have been incredibly impressed at the build quality and the engineering that has gone into the Accord. I am an avid reader of anything I can find that deals with automobiles, and through my study, and now my experience, the Accord cannot be matched for value and fun to drive. I have not had one problem, and my gas mileage varies between 34 and 38 highway.
Just bought 2006 Honda Accord EX V6
This car is fantastic! It is sporty, classy and dare I say practical. Got the hard to find Carbon Bronze Pearl with the Ivory interior. The car has first rate build quality and is stunning to look at in the daylight. Got my car for 27,000+ tax title and insurance. I would highly recommend it.
Nice car
I have driven Accords for 25 years ('81 DX for 12 years, '93 EX for 13 years). After looking at what was available in the market this year that met my needs (reliable, safe, comfortable, fun), I decided on the Honda Accord. This is a fun car to drive. I hope it goes the distance like its predecessors.
Good Value
2006 EX-V6 Auto-5speed. This is my second Accord and 3rd Honda. The engine is very powerful and responsive. I'm currently averaging 25mpg in mixed driving and 28 on mostly highway. The interior is fairly quiet: the front seats offer lots of support and the rear seats have more than ample leg room for a 6+ footer. The Grade Logic transmission takes some getting used to during deceleration. No regrets in the purchase, though.
My 6 Honda - 4th Accord
1st off, I'd like to say that this is my 4 Accord. Have owned a 89, 92, 99 now the 06. This is least favourite. I've owned the car for 6 months now (I drive about 35,000 miles per yr., mostly highway and I cannot get over the very poor gas mileage - the car is from the US but I live in Toronto. As all my cars I drive about 130 on the highway which is 75ish and this car has getting half what my 99 did with 280,000 kilos on it (original clutch/motor not touched) I've got as bad as 275 miles to the tank and best was 375. I don't push it off the line but do drive at 75 and its by far the loudest Accord inside.
Not Happy
This car was built in good quality. However, this vehicle's design is absurd because Honda tried to reduce manufacturing cost. Despite the poor materials used, people love this just because of its reputation...
Manual Clutch Needs Overhaul
I bought this car brand new off of the lot back in Aug 2006. I really like this car, is comfortable and fun to drive. The stereo system gets some lame reviews but I find it to be pretty good compared to other cars. That being said watch out for the clutch and shifter. The shifter knob looks destroyed after only 3 yrs and the clutch is weak at best (See below) This is my third manual transmission car and have never experienced this kind of problem.
Too much mileage saving Hype
So far so good, but I bought the hype; and reality needs to be determined. I liked going the 5,000 miles between oil changes, I believe the mileage projection capability over promised what the car actually delivers. City driving about 24 MPH, On the highway, no Air conditioning, average speed control of 70 MPG, the mileage was 28 MPH. I expected much better
Great so far
The LX Special Edition had all of the features of the EX that we wanted (disc brakes, wheels, 6 disc CD w/wheel controls, etc) for several thousand less than an EX. The car is a big upgrade over our 01 civic EX. The 4 cylinder is the smoothest I have ever driven. Much smoother than the Toyota or the Nissan 2.5. I was afraid that the 2.4 wouldn't have the power to sufficiently move this big car around, but it has no problem. I am very pleased. I have put 4000 miles on this car in exactly 3 months and am averaging 26 city and 34 highway. Not bad for a car this size.
Great first Honda
Both of my daughters own Accords and told me I could not go wrong. They were right. Traded an 05 Camry (was not happy with the way it drove) and am very glad I made the change. I really enjoy driving the Honda. The ride is great, it is rock solid on the highway at high speed, comfortable and much better looking than the Camry. Upgrades to the LX-V6 for 2006 are great - sunroof and 17" alloy wheels. New styling is also a big improvement on a previously good looking car.
Love our new Sedan
My tall husband actually can be comfortable in the passenger seat of this great sedan when I am driving. Plenty of room in this car. Everyone who has seen it loves the 'luxury look." We love the good mileage we are getting around town.
Wow
At first, I wanted to purchase a Civic because of gas prices but there was something about the Accord. From the exterior to the interior it's just beautiful! It's picks up like a V6 engine, smooth ride, great handling, and i love the color combination! I am a college student and travel a lot. I believe that the Accord will last longer than my Monte Carlo did. If you are looking for a car, this is the one to get. TRUST ME. Looks great, drives great, and the fuel is great. Great job Honda.
The real deal
With a bit of reluctance I decided to test drive the 6 speed Accord. What a car!!! This is a fast car and fun to drive. The gear box is as soft as butter and the interior is impeccably finished. No bells and whistles. The XM radio is a must and the sound system that comes with the 6MT is fantastic. Only the 6MT has 180w. The leather seat are very comfortable and the rear seat have plenty of room. Handling is superb and the redesign tail light looks great.
Tom Kiley's review
I have had the car for three weeks and have taken two trips that were over 200 miles each way and have found the car to be very comfortable, quiet with good power for acceleration. My on road gas mileage averaged 32 mpg.
GREAT CAR
The LX SPECIAL EDITION is a great car for the price compared to higher priced American cars in the same class. This car is fun to drive and very reliable. Great job Honda keep building cars people want to own for a long time.
Great Car!
I still have this car as it is hard to turn it back in since its a lease. I've not had one problem with it (Very Reliable)! Just the regular maintenance. I would recommend this car to anyone! Its been one of my favorites. You can never go wrong with buying a Honda!
Little bit of everything
I stepped out of an '04 S2000 to accommodate growing family and this has been the right choice. The car looks great, built very soundly, great performance for what it is and what it costs. It's a lot of fun to drive, and this is coming from a guy who has had cars w/400+hp and an S2000. The dual chrome exhaust pipes look good and remind me of my past sports cars. The leather is comfortable, the sound system is great, interior and exterior styling is slick, and the ride is smooth. Plus it's a honda so you know it's going to last you well beyond it's warranty. I'd recommend this car to anyone looking for a well-rounded commuter car that is fun to drive.
Outstanding Value
Test drove them all and the decision was easy... the Accord is hands down the best value for your dollar. 4 cyl engine is smooth and surprisingly quick. If you like to drive, go for the manual tranny. The interior is fantastic! Leather comparable to pricey luxury models. Great fit and finish. Seats are very comfortable, all instruments and controls very nicely laid out. All this and great reliability and gas mileage to boot. Honda continues to be the pace setter when it comes to how much you get for your money.
Fantastic Car
Coming from a large 4x4 truck, this car is a refreshing change. Before my truck, I owned an '88 Accord that I was very attached to, yet reluctantly sold it. That attachement, along with gas prices, the world economy, social responsibilty, etc. is what brought me back to the Accords and Honda. The engine and transmission are butter smooth. The interior is quiet, fairly refined and comfortable. The suspension is taught and the steering precise. I still haven't went through the first tank of gas yet, but I expect the mileage to be as advertised. Overall, I am tickled with my Accord. Honda has done a very nice job with the design. The Accord SE is a GREAT value for the money.
Great Buy
The Honda Accord SE is by far one of the best sedans considering the price. It's smooth and has most features that the EX carries, but for much less in cost.
Good Daily Commuter
Had the car for 4 years now. Very reliable, great mileage. It has a few creaks & rattles, but this is not a top-of-the-line luxury car, just good solid transportation.
So Happy I went with My Honda
I just purchased my Honda Accord EX-L 4CL with leather/moonroof and am so happy that I did. I was looking at spending extra for a certified pre-owned Volvo S60 or the Nissan Maxima. I just couldn't find any good deals, as the latter models were over priced and over hyped. When I test drove the Accord, I fell in love. The interior is that of a Lexus- quality. I couldn't believe it. So smooth and it's got a lot of pep for a 4CL engine. I just got rid of my gas guzzling Jeep Cherokee V6. So over these ridiculous gas prices! Used to have to fill my truck twice a week to get back forth to my job. I've cut that by just more than half (and it'll get better once it's broken in).
Quality Car with the best value
I have this car for about a week with Carbon Bronze and ivory leather that turn many heads on the road. The quality of this car is simply impeccable. The engine is smooth and full of power. You did not step much of the gas even with this four cylinders. With the value of this car, it is comparable to thousands more Accura but with 30+ MPG advangtage. I was originally on the market for a Camry but after inspecting 06 Accord. It was just a no brainer decision. Camry is simply too plain and not very exciting. With comparable equipment Camry, it costs about $2000 more with dealer's attitude, which I do not know where that came from. Overall, you just can not go wrong with this car.
My first new car is a honda :)
I just bought this vehicle about a month ago. Coming from a '03 Chevy Silverado, this is much more comfortable and fun to drive. The gas mileage is amazing also. I used to have to fill up my Chevy twice a week. I fill up once a week just out of choice. I only use half the tank a week. UNBELIEVEABLE. This is a great buy, especially for soon-to-be moms. I bought the honda because I read about how safe they were and how efficient they were. I would recommend this vehicle to everyone.
My first Accord
Shopped around looking at Accord, Camry, Mazda 6. Hands down, the best overall value with standard safety features. I've only had it for 3 weeks now. Plenty of pep in the 4 cyl. First round trip of 520 miles, mostly freeway, I averaged 38+ mpg w/5 speed manual (but I'm a conservative driver). Handling is responsive but the ride is a little stiff. Plenty of leg and head room and ample room in back seat for 2 passengers.
The best car on the road!
I was a little skeptical about buying a brand new car. However, after purchasing this one, I have not a single regret. I absolutely love this vehicle. It's size is perfect, rides quiet, and has superb handling. Very reliable, powerful... simple yet elegant. And surprisingly, the Accord stereo system is unbelievable. It's far better than Honda's Acura TL! It's an absolute beauty all the way around.I would recommend the '06 Accord to anyone who was looking for unsurpassed quality and style.
luv da honda
Steering and suspension give sports car feel. Stereo sound clear and crisp. Acceleration responsive and adequate for a 4 cyl engine. Gas mileage excellent.
Car to buy
I have researched to buy a new car for almost six months. There were few cars in the line to buy like 2006 Passat, Mazda etc, but this car over runs every one of them. For a middle class buyers this car holds the value for the longest duration and then there is HONDA to stand behind it for the quality and performance. I have till now driven @ 500 miles and have enjoyed every bit of it. Sales person's are great.
Excellent Car
This is a great vehicle for the price. I had a 2003 Acura TL and the 2006 Accord - EX-L is nicer. This is my 9th Honda product and the price is great for all you get.
Better Than Expected
I bought my 06 Honda Accord mostly for the fuel economy. This car has turned out to be more than I expected. The ride is smooth and the 4 cylinder engine has more get up and go than I would have believed. I have gotten nothing but compliments on my purchace. This is my first Honda but I will be buying Honda again in the future.
Awesome Ride
I just bought the SE about a week ago. I love the way it handles. It is my first Accord and I love it. I would not go back to any other car. I traded in my Jetta for this Accord, and tell you what, it's like a HUGE upgrade. Sure I miss the heated mirrors that I had on Jetta and the sunroof. But I will settle for an Accord without them.
Awesome Car!!!
I have had my Honda Accord about 3 weeks.. I owned a CRV previously. I absolutely LOVE the accord! The NAV system, XM radio, and leather interior is the BEST. I am so glad I got all the extras because I really appreciate the luxuries.. I never had them before.. Drives like a dream and shifts perfectly.. The BEST car ever!
Safety in a crash
I appreciated my 2006 Honda accord Ex 4 cyl. for its comfort and fuel economy-consistently 30 mpg- better on the highway, but the best part was when I was in a serious front end collision in which the front crumpled and absorbed the impact and the airbag did the rest-I was fine. I recommend the Honda accord! I now drive a 2007 of the same model.
Love my Honda
I just brought this car on Tues (5/31). I have the LX-V6 model and I love it. It's quieter than my Camry and the ride is smooth as well. If you're looking for a dependable car try this one-You won't be sorry.!!
Not surprised
I test drove the Ford 500, Altima & Camry and EX was by far the best. Smooth ride, quiet, good sound system (this could be improved), handles great, peppy for a 4-cyl. However, I am disappointed in the gas mileage so far but the car is really not broken in yet. Could have a few more bells and whistles like seat position memory, in- dash indicators of fuel and mileage. All in all, I LOVE THE CAR. Leather interior is soft and does not really hold the heat and here in Alabama, that is a consideration. Stop thinking, just buy one! Note to car manufacturers: please think of something to hold a woman's purse!
My dream car
I've driven Hondas for years, but this is my first brand new car. I was pretty sure I wanted the Accord, but I did drive other cars to be fair. This car is so comfortable, gets better mileage than the sticker says. Who needs extras when everything I could want just came with the car. I'm sure I will be as happy with this car in 15 years, when I still plan to be driving this car, as I am right now.
Best of the Best
The bottom line is this is the best car ever built for the price, and in its class. It is fun to drive.
Glad We Upgraded
I average about 20,000 miles driving to and from work so we were looking for a reliable car. My past experience with vehicles hasn't been very good-lots of mechanical failures, expensive repairs. We did the research and were very impressed with the Honda Accord and sold after the test drive. Very smooth ride, lots of great features, and Honda has a great track record with their products. Can't go wrong investing with Honda!
