Love it
This is my second Yukon and I cant say enough about it! Reliable and tough.
I LOVE MY YUKON
I usually don't keep a vehicle as long as this but I plan to hold on to the Yukon. It is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. It rides like a caddy and is quieter than anything I have had. And I have owned Ford Explorer and Expedition as well as Jeep Grand Cherokee.

steering and alignment suck
The steering shaft, alignment, and crossmember keep needing work. I took it in 3 times for alignment because the tires are wearing on the outter side, and the steering shaft has been changed once, and it still makes noises and rattles when i turn, and the crossmember has been changed because it made clicking noises when i turned-- that is the only problem the dealer fixed right the first time.
BUYER'S OBSERVATIONS
DEALERS DON'T TREAT HIGH END CUSTOMERS AS WELL AS M/B OR LEXUS ITS A BIG HOLE IN PRODUCT LOVELY TO DRIVE AND OWN , HOWEVER
Love my new SUV
I love my new GMC Yukon, Denali 2004. The word Denali, means "GREAT ONE" and that is what I have. I traded in my 1999, Toyota, Landcruiser, (my second) and was very hesitant about purchasing anything else. I made the right choice! My gas mileage is better than my toyota and is better than the sticker mileage and any review that I read. I am now sold on GMC. This is a GREAT suv in every way!
2004 Yukon
I just purchased my second Yukon. I really like features the 2004 model offers over my older 2000 model.
Keeps breaking
The 4x4 in my truck keeps breaking and GM is unable to fix it. I would buy a Yukon again just not with 4x4 in it. At this time I am seeking the lemon law for assistance.
Denali 2004
I love this car. My family is constantly arguing over who gets to drive it(our other car is a Mercedes). This car is definately more comfortable and drives better(smoother) than my E320. As for the gas mileage--it gets better MPG than my brother-in-law's BMW M3. For such a large powerful vehicle the gas mileage is pretty good.
LA Freeways and The Yukon Denali
The new 2004 GMC Yukon Denali is one of the best vehicles I have ever driven. It works well in heavy stop and go traffic in the LA Basin as well as in rural snow and ice road conditions. It is very quiet and comfortable for all condtions. It sits high enough to see what is happening ahead on the freeway to avoid the daily fender benders. I would recommend it based on the feeling of security on the road.
Best in all classes
I rate the Yukon the best in all classes of SUV's. I had a Ford Explorer that I traded for the Yukon. It was OK and never gave me trouble, but the Yukon has it beat all ways for comfort, ease of handling and the gas mileage is about the same even though the engine and vehicle is overall bigger. I love everything about this SUV
The Dirty Sanchez
Great ride, who doesn't like a Yukon Denali? It's a tough American ride!
Nice 2003 Changes
I had a 2001 60,000.0 0 miles on it few little problems but over all great truck.. I traded for a 2004 and I loved my first one and like some of the NEW UPGRADES on my new one... Wish it would come in Blue :( not many options for colors but great ride. was looking at the Cadilac but could not get them to deal w/me and I am glad I got a new GMC
will never buy another type of truck
i test drove alot of trucks and the second i got behind the wheel's of a denali there was no turning back.
great suv
nice ride and features
one for wife
I bought an 03 Denali for myself. To keep the peace at home, I had to buy one for the wife. I didn't want to sleep with the pup....
VERY NICE
tHIS IS A GREAT VEHICLE.... I HAVE OWNED 4 NOW, WOULD BUY ANOTHER
YUKON - OUTSTANDING VALUE
This is an excellent overall choice in its class as is comfortable, reliable an actually gets decent mileage in town for a big 4WD SUV (15). Its not a Lexus but I saved enough money to buy my wife a new Camry as well, and heck they're trucks!
Second time around in the GMC Yukon
This is my second purchase. I traded a 98' Yukon for this one and there is a world of difference. The ride is like a dream, quiet, firm but not stiff, breaking seems to be more than adaquate, a real change from the old front disc and rear drums. Confidant that the vehicle will stop without worry. The ease steering is different and the suspension is much smoother than my old 4WD. The 5.3L engine is smooth and powerful, better gas consumption and real joy. Styling is great and the new Silver color is nice. I just couldn't wait to trade and I'm glad that I did.
Best Full Size SUV
I have owned my GMC Yukon Denali 03 for just a few months now and I can't say enough positive things about this SUV. The Denali is a lot of fun to drive with exceptional power, stability, comfort and towing capability all in one package. GMC has really improved on their overall build quality and the engine is one of the outstanding features of this vehicle. Fellas out there - this is a vehicle you can use to haul your family around without lowering your self-esteem by driving a mini-van! This by is far the best vehicle I have owned.
2004 Yukon - LOVE IT!!!
Awesome SUV!! Very comfortable and easy to see out of. Interior is very quiet and very well built. My MSRP was $40,640.00 we bought it for $30,333.00. Edmunds TMV is $31,940. I can't imagine buying anything else. Drive one and you will fall in love.
Great Vehicle
I bought mine loaded with most options and have not had it in the shop. Everything works, no rattles, etc. I'd by another without looking at the competition.
My new Denali
We bought this new GMC Denali on January 22, 2004. We have to homes to travel to being 400 miles apart from each other. When driving on the highway I believe the Denali's ride is 2nd to none as far as smoothness and comfort go. The more we drive it the more we love it.Three times back and forth from Mass. to Northern Maine in style, and it just keeps getting better.
Transmission Problems
My Yukon as a whole is wonderful. However, after less than 8000 miles I had to have the transmission rebuilt. This truck came with a TOW/HAUL mode and has never had a trailer hitch installed.
2002 Denali
One of the best vehicles I've ever owned!
Power at a price
Wow this car is comfy. Gas mileage is something to be desired. I don't know why you need AWD for highway driving - maybe they should offer a 2WD Denali.
THE DENALI EXPERENCE
A very fine vehicle that is fun to drive. Has great passing ability. The headlights are fine, but can be improved by useing premium xenon bulbs. With these you get great visibility. A serious shortcoming is LACK of a back up warning system. It is very much needed for safety.
Denali Love Affair
Best Vehicle Ever --(I'm 69) The wife made me buy it.
My Review
I loved the vehicle and I have 3 children and they love it because it looks and feels like a luxury car but not such a big price. Also I go to Galveston, Texas alot and I only have to fill up the tank maybe 2 times at that. I just love the car.
03 denali
best veicle ever owned.....absolute business machine!
Almost as good as my 99 Suburban
Great car but is now made of or out off composite and not metal like it used to be. Ths makes for much better gas milage and the chasis is the same but not quite as safe as the 99's . The car looks great and has a great sound system (Bose) but the ride is not quite as good as the older suburbans. I did choose this over my 2002 Caddy (DeVille) i just got rid of.
BEST IN THE EAST
I HAVE HAD THREE GMC YUKONS, THIS IS THE FIRST DENALI MODEL. IT IS A FANTASTIC VEHICLE FOR STYLE, COMFORT AND QUALITY OF BODY DESIGN.
Second Yukon
This is my second Yukon. the first was a 1997 with 165,000 miles on it. I never had bit of trouble with it other regular maintenence. The 2004 is more that I expected.
I'd buy another one
It is absolutely the best vehicle i have ever owned. It's fun to drive, reliable, handles well, does very well in snow and it comfortable. The design is sporty yet you know you are in luxury. GM really did a good job of thinking of the consumer on this one.
Yukon works for me
This has been a surprise. Didn't expect to want as large of a vehicle, but it is a joy to drive. Looks great and tows my boat with ease. No contest vs imitators. Worth the upcharge for Denali... Didn't see anything like it when shopping.
There's nothing like the size of an American SUV
Overall I am very pleased with this vehicle. The comfort, ride, and features are all way above average. I am 6'4" and this is one of the few SUVs that gives me the room I need. The stock stereo is excellent. I use the nav all the time. It's not a touch screen, but it works almost flawlessly in my experience. XM radio is well worth the money if you drive far away from big cities. it has a huge engine, tows great, will give you great acceleration for the size, and you'll have no trouble merging into traffic. Now for the negative. Poor gas mileage . At 11000 miles, I had a transmission issue. It shifted jack rabbit style into 2nd gear, the engine light came on, and I am still waiting for the warranty repairs from the dealer.
I Love My 2004 GMC Yukon
I have owned 3 Cheverolet Tahoe's (1995-1998-2001)and none of them can compare with my new GMC Yukon. It's a littler fancier than my Tahoe's with retractable moon roof, 6 CD changer, OnStar, XM Satellite Radio), and it runs like a dream. I wish it didn't have that third row seat, or that it could be retractable like the Ford Expedition. All in all, I love my Yukon and think it is one of the finest vehicles on the road today. It makes my son and I feel safe and secure and it drives excellent.
Love it, my all time favorite
I'm not a car person but now I am. I've owned a previous SUV and it was a good car but this one is superior. I travel alot and my husband is out of town often so I have comfort with the On Star system, satellite radio for those remote areas.
Traded 4.8L Yukon for Denali
Denali is a lot more responsive than the other Yukons and actually drives better. The 17" Wheels and extra 500lbs in weight gives better separation from the road. The regular Yukes makes a popping sound when steering hard but not with the Denali.
GMC Yukon is solid as they come
This was my first GMC vehicle and certainly not my last. The quality which was put in to the design and building of the vehicle is extraordinary. Everything fits, nothing rattles or wobbles, or makes noise, unless it's supposed to and you can just tell that the quality is there. My only complaint was that I couldn't get 17" wheels and tires...only on the Denalli which was not worth the difference in price (about $10,000). All in all, I am very happy with this one.
my new GMC
Thus far, I have been completely satisfied with the performance of my new GMC Yukon XL. Although the gas mileage is a little less than I anticipated, I drive mostly city driving and it isn't off the charts bad. My kids love the space and we have really liked the fact that it is so quiet inside. As a Volvo and Merceds owner, I am used to automobiles that exceed expectations and this one has done just that. If this is what American cards are like now a days... I may rethink my next auto purchase to an American manufactured car.
I love my Denali
I really love my Denali but very disappointed with the material used in and around the vehicle is coming apart. the molding on the inside and outside is constantly falling off, the headrest seats where they connect are coming apart. The guide for the seats to move forward and backwards is coming off. You will have to be an installer to keep the unit together. I was totally surprised at the manufacturing and material use in a General Motors car and a luxury car at that.I still feel that the tranny is loose but am told at the dealers otherwise. Other than those things it is a great vehicle.
RodeMaster's New Yukon
While looking for a full size SUV--I looked at lots of models. GMC's Yukon not only turned my head, but made me a True Believer. First off, a great looking truck, and in Black, it looks fast standing still. The 4.8 has tons of low end, so quick pullouts into traffic are a breeze. The DVD-Sunroof package is the best invention for long road trips yet. The ability to plug in the XBox makes this entertainment center a winner (the rest of the car can listen to the audio of the DVD, or not--Nice feature).
GMC YUKON SLT
FUN TO DRIVE FUEL ECONOMY IS REALLY BAD
Great but can improve to excellent.
My experience with the Yukon so far has been excellent. The Yukon handles very well. This was my first SUV I ever owned so I thought driving it, do to its size, was going to be difficult and it was not.
Why an Escalade when you have a Denali!
I love my Denali, it is the best SUV I ever had and when choosing between an Expedition, Escalade, and the Denali the Denali just was more for me. A better ride than the escalade and a cleaner look then the Expedition it wasn't a hard decision. Only thing I wish GM had did was to make it come with wood on the steering wheel like the Escalade. Other than that GMC makes some awsome trucks!
Beautiful Machine
This Denali is a dream to drive, smooth, quiet and easy to handle. The seats make long distance travel a really enjoyment. The seperate stereo sound systems for front and back make the kids happy not to mention us adults. The view of the roadway is execellent and makes avoiding problem ahead easy to see. The 0n-Star system has help several time once when we came over a hill to witness a head on accident. On-Star has some there quickly in the remote area.
Best SUV I have ever owned!
I have had several SUVs and I must say that the GMC Yukon is the best one so far. Reliability, comfort, durability and driving pleasure all wrapped into one truck.
as good as it gets for a family suv
i love it. it has all the room for your family and more comfort and options than expected. more cargo space in the back with the third row of seats in would be nice but in all i would say that it is the best suv i have ever drove.
Pleasant Surprise
I am very impressed with this truck. It is quite, comfortable and the ride is excellent.
Joe's Denali
Great vehicle. Third row seating should be an option not standard. AWD is a gas guzzling feature. Should be on demand 4WD. All in all, I love my Denali, plenty of power, room and very comfortable. Gas mileage could be better, getting about 15mpg.
