GMC YUKON SLT
FUN TO DRIVE FUEL ECONOMY IS REALLY BAD
Denali
This truck rides great. About the only negative is that it is big and the fuel economy is poor, but if you want power to tow with a ride second none, this is your vehicle. I have taken this on some long trips over 2,000 miles and still enjoy getting behind the wheel of this one.

AMERICANS ARE BACK
NEVER BOUGHT A NEW AMERICAN AUTO TIL NOW. WE LOOKED AT EVERYTHING FOR OUR FAMILY, AND COULD HAVE BOUGHT ANYTHING, THIS YUKON 5.3, 4- CAPTAINS, DVD, WHITE, TAN LEATHER, TOW, AND FINALLY A GREAT STEREO SYSTEM FROM GM, GREAT A.C. CHROME WHEELS. WOW GOOD JOB YOU AMERICANS, WATCH OUT REST OF THE WORLD. THE AMERICANS ARE BACK! BORN AND RAISED IN CALIF.
cant beat it with a stick
awesome vehicle, although they took out some nice features from my 2000 denali, the suit hangers are a joke, unless you want to smash your suit in the door. xm radio & gps is fantastic. quiet, better ride and control than its predecessors. overall a joy to own.
the best i ever have
great truck, love it, i want to trade in my dodge durango in the near future for another gmc yukon xl
Kids Are Grown, STILL LOVE IT !
Our kids are grown, and I am usually the only one in the car,but it is the best thing I did for myself. You can get in and out of the tightest mall spaces, turn on a dime;while sitting heads and shoulders above everybody else. I love that I could go to Homegoods and decide to take advantage of that beautiful 3'x6' double glass curio case, and fit it in without having to leave the extra seats home,to fit it in.Not to mention,to load and unload the cargo area is the lightest, easiest thing ever. The Denali is the most omfortable"Big Boy". I will get one again.Love GM products, and this baby is exactly like The Caddie Escalade..
Love My Yukon - Thanks GMC!
WOW! This Yukon LX is the Best! I can finally cart all the kids and their stuff, in the luxury I love! Thanks GMC - the Yukon LX is a real winner!
My new Denali
We bought this new GMC Denali on January 22, 2004. We have to homes to travel to being 400 miles apart from each other. When driving on the highway I believe the Denali's ride is 2nd to none as far as smoothness and comfort go. The more we drive it the more we love it.Three times back and forth from Mass. to Northern Maine in style, and it just keeps getting better.
Power at a price
Wow this car is comfy. Gas mileage is something to be desired. I don't know why you need AWD for highway driving - maybe they should offer a 2WD Denali.
Denali Love Affair
Best Vehicle Ever --(I'm 69) The wife made me buy it.
03 denali
best veicle ever owned.....absolute business machine!
Almost as good as my 99 Suburban
Great car but is now made of or out off composite and not metal like it used to be. Ths makes for much better gas milage and the chasis is the same but not quite as safe as the 99's . The car looks great and has a great sound system (Bose) but the ride is not quite as good as the older suburbans. I did choose this over my 2002 Caddy (DeVille) i just got rid of.
There's nothing like the size of an American SUV
Overall I am very pleased with this vehicle. The comfort, ride, and features are all way above average. I am 6'4" and this is one of the few SUVs that gives me the room I need. The stock stereo is excellent. I use the nav all the time. It's not a touch screen, but it works almost flawlessly in my experience. XM radio is well worth the money if you drive far away from big cities. it has a huge engine, tows great, will give you great acceleration for the size, and you'll have no trouble merging into traffic. Now for the negative. Poor gas mileage . At 11000 miles, I had a transmission issue. It shifted jack rabbit style into 2nd gear, the engine light came on, and I am still waiting for the warranty repairs from the dealer.
Love it, my all time favorite
I'm not a car person but now I am. I've owned a previous SUV and it was a good car but this one is superior. I travel alot and my husband is out of town often so I have comfort with the On Star system, satellite radio for those remote areas.
GMC Yukon is solid as they come
This was my first GMC vehicle and certainly not my last. The quality which was put in to the design and building of the vehicle is extraordinary. Everything fits, nothing rattles or wobbles, or makes noise, unless it's supposed to and you can just tell that the quality is there. My only complaint was that I couldn't get 17" wheels and tires...only on the Denalli which was not worth the difference in price (about $10,000). All in all, I am very happy with this one.
I love my Denali
I really love my Denali but very disappointed with the material used in and around the vehicle is coming apart. the molding on the inside and outside is constantly falling off, the headrest seats where they connect are coming apart. The guide for the seats to move forward and backwards is coming off. You will have to be an installer to keep the unit together. I was totally surprised at the manufacturing and material use in a General Motors car and a luxury car at that.I still feel that the tranny is loose but am told at the dealers otherwise. Other than those things it is a great vehicle.
WOW
This is a stellar car and the looks are great and the interior is amazing
denali
We love this auto. We have taken several trips and enjoy the roomey interior. The fold in mirror make it easy to park, not only in the garage but in tight parking lots. This would have been the best auto I have ever own except for its handeling. It is loose at high speeds. We just finished a trip to Florida pulling a trailer and had a very hard time with the handeling at speed above 70. It feels like the front end wants to pull one way or the other. we also find this at low speed at intersecting streets.
I Drive alot of different vehicles
I drive alot of different SUV'S and GM still has the best bang for your buck. My last 2 Suburbans have all had over 250,000 miles on them when I sold them, and are both still running strong.
Yukon XL
We have taken our Yukon camping, long trips and just every day run around. The two rear seats hold 6 car seats. I carry two sets of triplets on a daily basis. We are very pleased with everything about this SUV except with soaring gas prices feul ecenomy is obviously not the feature we were looking for. Coming from an Astro Van this SUV is pure luxury.
Denali Yukon
Very powerful but a very quiet cabin. Complete electronics with Onstar XM radio. Great ride.
satisfied
excellent vehicle to drive and for tow
great suv
handles great and is very confortable to drive
Love My Denali!
My husband and I have gone through NUMEROUS cars in the last 10 years, and this is by far my favorite. The few things I had to get used to were, the turning, parking, & fuel consumption ($49.00 fill up; 31 gal.). Those are the "negatives". For the positives, I could go on and on...but most importantly, you get a lot of respect on the road. The kids love it and we can haul all of their stuff, and all of us (5), VERY comfortably. It's a beautiful vehicle that is a pleasure to drive. The feeling of being safe, with the size and build of the car along with having Onstar, gives me incredible peace of mind.
wow
48K miles, never back to the dealer for defects, and still on original tires. A joy to drive with the 6.0 Litre engine. How much better can a vehicle be?
awesome
we LOVE our denali. Best car we have ever owned it is awesome. Only thing I do not like is that the rear seats do not recline all the way.
Denali is the best vehicle I've had
This is an amazing vehicle, I highly recommend. We test drove a Durango, it was in a completely lower class. Denali worth the extra money.
my car
love the ride and size. plus on star is the greatest.
DISAPPOINTED
I AM HAVING A REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE WITH MY 2004 DENALI. I HAVE A REALLY BAD POPING NOISE UNDER THE CAR IN THE EXHAUST SYSTEM BUT THEY SAY THEY CANT FIX IT THEY DONT KNOW HOW TOO. SO I TRY NOT TO DRIVE UNLESS I HAVE TO , I PARK AT THE END OF THE PARKING LOT, SO KNOW ONE WILL KNOW ITS MINE. ITS SOUND LIKE SOMEONE IS UNDER IT HITTING IT WITH A HAMMER. YOU PAY 50000 FOR A VEHICLE AND ASHAMED TO DRIVE IT. I WOULDN'T RECOMMENT ANYONE TO BUY ONE NOW. IT NOT WORTH THE EMBARRASEMENT.
Great truck!
What a pleasure to drive! Traded a 2000 Expedition for my Denali and do not miss it one bit! Interior is cushy, personalized settings are superior. Solid, smooth ride, without the beastly, top-heavy feel of the Expedition. Huge improvement in acceleration with the 325 hp motor.
Great
Great i love it
OWNER
I enjoy this vehicle very much. I never thought that a four wheel drive vehicle could be this comfortable.
slice of heaven
My previous vehicle was a 1998 Ford Explorer. I was considering three vehicles: the FX 45, the Audi Allroad and the GMC Denali. I test drove them all and settled on the Denali. The engine is excelent along with the interior finish. I never used to listen to music, however the XM radio on the Nav screen thrills me beyond end. My only disappointment is that the factory wheels on the Denali are a pedestrian 17 inches, and for a vehicle this large there should be an option to upgrade to a larger rims and wheels.
DENALIGreat
Great Vehicle! Second one for us and in addition to a Yucon XL. They are all good. Gas milage is NOT good. 10 MPG average but vehicle is new and driven only in city. It's big, roomy, quiet and responsive. You have a distinct feeling of safety when driving or transporting people or cargo.
The best SUV ever owned
Has alot of pick and go. Smooth ride and enough power to easily pull a 28' boat up a ramp without a struggle.
Great!!!!
Great job well built, handels nicely, good looking body style excell.power very easy to drive and roomy.
Great Large SUV
I have no complaints on this Truck, it's a pleasure to drive. I LOVE IT!
Yukon XL
I've had 1998 and 2001 Linc Navigators and the 2001 had all sorts of problems and has a ride that compares to a 3/4 ton truck. The GMC Yukon XL has more room and good towing capacity, but drives with car comfort. Very consistant purformer with good quality to value ratio in the GMC Yukon.
The GMC Denali
My Denali is an excellent driving and riding piece of equipment. I especially enjoy driving in on long trips because it is so comfortable. My wife prefers to drive over her Avalon. It handles the road wherever I go. Snow or rain it goes and goes very well.
somewhat disapointed
Body fit and finish disappoiinting for upscale vehicle. Lacks simple inexpensive features found on my 1002. No key locked compartments within the vehicle. Rear light swich eliminated, console compartment small and lacks booklet holder underside of cover. Just some items that were of a convienence no longer available. Would NOT buy another or from that dealership.
good
it makes me feel safe
THE Large SUV to own!!!
I LOVE this vehicle. The only downside is the city gas mileage, particularly since the gas prices are up right now. Other than that, we chose this vehicle over the FORD expecition and the Lincoln Navigator because of its exceptional power and clean interior styling. It is also a bit pricey, but we plan to keep it until the wheels fall off!
my gmc
great truck , great dealership
Driver Review
Very Dependable, Nice comfortable ride, Best riding SUV ever owned.
new SUV
Very good performance to date. Have 2900 miles on car.
Denali all the way!
I am on my 7th GMC Suburban/XL - purchased my 1st Denali - ride and comfort is exceptional. There is a difference between the standard XL and the Denali (not only the looks).
Love it
This is my second Yukon and I cant say enough about it! Reliable and tough.
BUYER'S OBSERVATIONS
DEALERS DON'T TREAT HIGH END CUSTOMERS AS WELL AS M/B OR LEXUS ITS A BIG HOLE IN PRODUCT LOVELY TO DRIVE AND OWN , HOWEVER
Love my new SUV
I love my new GMC Yukon, Denali 2004. The word Denali, means "GREAT ONE" and that is what I have. I traded in my 1999, Toyota, Landcruiser, (my second) and was very hesitant about purchasing anything else. I made the right choice! My gas mileage is better than my toyota and is better than the sticker mileage and any review that I read. I am now sold on GMC. This is a GREAT suv in every way!
Denali 2004
I love this car. My family is constantly arguing over who gets to drive it(our other car is a Mercedes). This car is definately more comfortable and drives better(smoother) than my E320. As for the gas mileage--it gets better MPG than my brother-in-law's BMW M3. For such a large powerful vehicle the gas mileage is pretty good.
