great car
After owning my GEO for 5 years, I now have 143,000 miles on it and am just replacing the starter motor now - that's the only major thing except for replacing the brakes at 130,000 miles! I hope that my next car will be as great as this one. I'm sorry to hear they are discontinuing it!
Gooooo Geo!
I make fun of myself for owning the un- prestigous Geo. However, this car has been worth every penny I paid for it four years ago. I highly recommend this vehicle if you are looking for an economical and reliable vehicle. If you're looking for luxury. . . keep looking.
An Awesome Car
My Geo Prizm has been in my family for seven years now, and it has been a great car. All it has needed was new brakes (expected!), and that was at 115,000 miles, when most cars need them around 30,000. Other than that, it hasn't been to a mechanic once. It's an awesome car. It has a ton of miles on it (167,000) but still runs great. My advice? Buy one!
The Car that Won't Die
Purchased for $2000 with 149k on it, and have driven it a lot since purchased. Consistently gets 41 - 42 mpg on highway trips. Have driven from Washington to Utah, to Oklahoma, to California, and never had a problem. Drives smooth and is super reliable.
geo is reliable
This car has been so reliable, has had so few problems. It is hard to believe I've had it for nine years and 126 K miles. My husband drives a 1999 Prizm which now has more miles but has had absolutely no problems with his either. The only thing I've had to replace were the alternator once, then the standard stuff, like brakes, tires, battery. Nothing major.
