2019 Genesis G70 3.3T Design 4dr Sedan AWD (3.3L 6cyl Turbo 8A)

I have purchased German sedans in the past, BMW, Mercedes, and Audi. All have been performance versions. 435 M package, E500, S7. A recent test drive of the Genesis G70 left no doubt that this vehicle was superior to it's competitors. Most significant categories that are world class are, engine/transmission performance, features and amenities, and value. Genesis came in over $200 less per month on a lease than a BMW 435 fully equipped. Even if you fully equip a comparable Mercedes, BMW, or Audi you still don't get all the features found in the Genesis. The car is FUN to drive. Mileage on the highway is 29mpg at a steady 80MPH. Laying into the turbo around town drops mpg down to 18. Overall, impressive for a turbo 3.3 liter 6 cylinder. Performance mode is also entertaining, seat boosters tighten, dash turns red, shift points get more aggressive. Launch control is also included for some hooliganism. Diamond pattern stitching on seating is stylish. What might be a shortcoming to some people is tight back seat and a small trunk. Since rear seats fold down an I am driving mostly by myself this is not a concern for me. Genesis has made me overcome my addiction to German engineering. PS Forgot to mention concierge service and zero cost maintenance. Booyah!

I have been driving a BMW 128i Manual for the last 9 years, a really fun little car. I needed a little more convenience since I am dropping my kids at school every day and wanted more power and some modern features without compromising on the driving dynamics I loved with my BMW. Since the beginning that the G70 (and the Stinger) were announced, I read everything about it and wanted to verify if it was as good as the hype from the reviews. Spoiler alert: it IS. The G70's handling is actually better than my beloved 128i's, the power and the delivery of the 3.3t engine is great and at the same time, the car is plush and all the features are very well designed. It is still a driver's car. Special mention for the gorgeous light grey interior with the Prestige trim, it is stunning and the cabin feels like a special place to spend time during my commute. The Lexicon sound system is brilliant. As others mentioned, the main downside is the rear legroom: there is no question it is tight (but useable). The main negative, in my opinion, is the buying experience since the Genesis network is not ready for prime time and not used to the needs of luxury car buyers. I could not find my exact configuration in my area and the local dealers did not try to help me, I ended up purchasing one out of state and have it shipped from accross the country. **** Update after a year of ownership (9,000 miles): Still very happy, the car is still a joy to drive. materials are holding up well (I have the light grey interior, which is almost white, no jean's discoloration on seats, and the soft nappy leather does not crease so far). The only issue is a creaking noise in the steering column (which sounds like a damaged clockspring) that the dealer does not seem to be able to fix (took the car twice). Not a big deal but nagging. ***** Update after 3 years of ownership (28k miles): I still enjoy daily driving the G70. I removed a start because of a few nagging issues and the overall ownership experience. My local dealer made some progress with their service dpt but they haven't been able to correct the issue with my steering creak. They even replaced the steering column, which helped for a few months before getting the issue back. I have a few creaking noises but nothing dramatic. So far the interior is holding well but I tend to be very careful. After 3 years I no longer enjoy the valet service and paying $300 dollars/year for the sub-par connected services is a tough pill to swallow given the poor technology. I did renew the remote start and the emergency calls but gave up with the connected nav that I never use.

Awesome Driving Experience

I recently purchased the G70 2.0T Advanced after evaluating a broad range of vehicles (2017 350 IS, 2018 A4, 2018 BMW, Honda, Mazda 6). For my price point of mid/upper 30's, the data (reviews, spec comparisons (hp/torque, safety features, more back seat leg room than IS 350, BMW 430i)), JD Powers, etc), cockpit ergonomics, expected cost of ownership, perks (valet servicing, 5yr/60, Genesis app, Alexa), and the AMAZING driving experience, the G70 became the clear winner. I look forward to the expressway every morning!

So I've driven my fair share of cars. I personally owned a Genesis coupe 2.0T, then a G37 , then a mini cooper S. before purchase this i drove 330i, Kia stinger, and MB C300, and honestly not one of them made feel the way i feel about this car. The handling, the 0-06, and my favorite thing, random people telling you how amazing it looks. while the kia stinger is similar to this, the Freebies you get from Genesis are unmatched. 3 years valet service, 3 years connect service(remote start from your phone) and best warranty in car industry.

I am a former BMW 540 with M package, BMW 435 with M package owner. My Genesi G70 3.3 prestige package lease is $140/month less than my previous BMW 4 series, a 5k savings of 36 months. Even if you check off every option on the BMW, the Genesis offers more for less. Many Thoughtful features abound such as brake hold, and passenger seat controls on drivers side as well as in the conventional spot for the passenger. Fuel economy is commensurate with a turbo 3.3L engine. Handling and steering are strong points with tires being the weak spot when driving aggressively. Engine is a bit coarse sounding at higher revs, not buttery smooth like the BMW inline 6. Adaptive cruise control works smoothly, and lane keep assist on the highway is way better than in my Audi Q5 or Porsche.. I would recommend this car as a daily driver for sport enthusiasts. In addition concierge service is excellent. They pick up my car and leave a loaner when service is needed. Car has been problem free in the last 13k miles. 2 Months after leasing the car Genesis sent me a carry on Travel Pro suitcase as a surprise gift. BMW nothing, Porsche a T-shirt. 18,000 miles later my review stands as written. Concierge service is a treat, Highway miles are fatigue free due to combination of adaptive cruise and lane keep assist. Great highway mileage. 28 mpg at a steady 75-80mph. With over 300 hp that’s impressive. Interior is holding up well with no signs of wear. Zero reliability issues or recalls.

I fell in love with this car the moment I saw it November 2018. My past 2 cars were Volvo S60's, which I liked a lot, but did not like the 2019 S60 model change though. The Avalon and Acura TLX AWD were on the list too, the Avalon was nice, but just a little too big and didn't have the AWD or the styling that was up with the Acura. I really liked the Acura AWD with the 6 cylinder engine after my test drive, but I thought it would be worth the drive up to Detroit were Suburban Genesis had just gotten quite a few G70's in. There were no dealers in Cleveland that carried them yet. They had the color I was looking for and once I took it for a test drive I saw it was better than any car I have ever owned. The cabin is phenomenal, visibility, sound system, very user friendly controls, high definition display, looks, quietness, and comfort are all as good as it gets. The heater warms the cabin up very fast. The Elite Package comes with all the amenities you need and then some. I got the Himalayan Gray, the rims are very eye catching. Another thing that I was very impressed about is the gas mileage, every trip I have taken has been over 30 mpg, never had a car with this high of mpg before! The voice activation with Android Auto is very easy to use, with other accessories on the car, it is not as accurater. I feel the 2.0 liter engine is fine, I am in sales and do a lot of 2 lane highway driving and passing quickly is not a problem. The transmission is ultra smooth. I do feel my Volvo handled better in the snow and the seating was slightly more comfortable, but other than that, no contest. I have been using 89 Octane with no issues or decreased gas mileage. I just had my first quality problem, a ruptured brake line which hindered the collision avoidance system and would not let me put it in cruise control. The need for service really highlighted the inferior dealerships Genesis has. They are still part of Hyundai dealerships and I had to wait 1 month for an appointment and when I did get it, they were only able to run the diagnostics and not fix it, even though they had it for the better part of a day. Any sitting in the waiting area that long was not an enjoyable experience either. I ended up taking it to my local mechanic and getting it fixed. I am getting ready to look at a new car and will still consider the G70, despite this shortfall, it would be nice to have a better to have a stand alone dealership. The loner vehicles they set aside are also very inadequate, so if the car is under warranty, expect the same service you would get from Hyundai.

3.3T Sport AWD

I have had a MB C300, Infiniti G35 and, most recently an Infiniti Q60. I liked all of those cars in their own way. The amount of features that I have on this g70 Sport is astounding for the money. I mean it has almost everything and more: HUD, heated front and rear seats, cooled front seats, folding mirrors, birds eye view, leather seats, LSD, adjustable suspension... I could go on and on. Lets talk about the driving: Sport mode is a beast. There is max torque at 1500 rpm and it doesn't stop. The power delivery is smooth, much smoother than the Q60. It handles like a dream. The best thing is that you can drive it as a commuter car or as a sports car as you choose and don't give up much in either category. When I'm with the wife, I drive calmly and when I want to push up the fun factor, I can do that also. I just can't say enough about the car. Update: I’ve now had the car for two years and it has 35k miles. I still love the car and would recommend it.

This car is not fuel efficient. Get past this, and you will enjoy it. The 3.3 ltr twin turbo is capable of supplying necessary power at low levels, or answering the call when you ask it to (triple digits before you know it). Really a great ride.

Do not go into the dealership thinking that you're just buying and Hyundai. The Genesis is really in a class of its own even when the G70 is next to a Sonata, it stands out. The interior screams luxury, and the exterior says luxury with a dash of sporty.

I have owned 2 Lincolns's, 2 BMW's and 7 Cadillac's. Value, ride and handling is right up there, on the 3.3 liter. 2.0 was a bit sluggish. When you compare a fully loaded Genesis to the BMW there is no comparison when it comes to value. Traded a 4 year old BMW. 6 month update. No problems and service department is much friendlier with great follow up.

After driving jaguars IDs and Mercedes for many years I just lease the new G 70 after my Jaguar lease had expired. Although I like the Jaguar it was short on performance with his 2.0 engine. I was attracted to the Genesis by the fact that this truly unique vehicle with out rages performance and multiple electronica goodies. The car was leased from a dealership in plantation Florida. Shortly after delivery however we noticed that the wheel balancing was off And I tried to contact the service department. Their website has crashed and their phones were not working. After no more than seven calls I went to the dealership and confronted the general manager who was not interested in resolving the issue. I have no complaints about the vehicle it is truly deserving of the accolades it is received. However genesis will never be a true competitor as long as it continues to share dealerships with Hyundai. High-end buyers are truly more demanding of the service department and sales department and a high-end a dealership can provide. They have an excellent car but their marketing is awfulAnd their customer support even worse

No it's not, but they did steal that company's chief designer so...coincidence? Anyways, bring your ego; the uninformed only see the winged badge and won't leave you alone. Bicyclists make rude hand gestures, strangers ask you how much money you make, coworkers insist that the Siberian Ice Blue paint is in fact white and/or grey (it’s blue, fight me). In between all of them though, it's surprising just how many people know the car and its accolades. Newcomer sport sedans always get glowing reviews and awards even if they’re junk, but a five minute test drive reveals that the G70 is actually competitive in its own right. The interior is as beautiful in person as in pictures. It’s a tactile wonderland, with soft leather and machined aluminum in places I would never look. The optional V6 is also a firecracker. 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, AWD and launch control though so that was no surprise. What floored me was the NVH. Nothing creaks and nothing rattles, but somehow that doesn’t make it feel like a boat. A 3,800lb sedan has no right to corner like this and STILL have this of a nice ride! It does though, and for that reason I’d skip the sport trim unless you’re going to the track, the standard springs are plenty stiff for on-road shenanigans. In this vein, I disagree with saying there’s no point in choosing the base G70 over a top-trim midsize sedan because it’s no faster. I traded up from a six-cylinder Legacy and, despite it being just as fast as the four-pot G70, the Genesis is a superior machine in every single way. Less is true of its underdog sports sedan competitors though. I WANTED to like the Cadillac and the Alfa Romeo, especially here in the sea of German luxury cars called New York, but come test-drive time the Genesis danced circles around them. It drives better, looks better, and has the best ownership perks by a mile. If you want a sports sedan that’s good AND different, this is really the only one you can have. Only a few problems: bad mileage and a tiny tank mean lots of fuel stops, if you’re over 6’3 you’ll have to lose the sunroof or your head won’t fit, and yes they are sold at Hyundai stores, but if that means Genesis can sell them as cheap as they do so be it. Overall this G70 has turned into my dream-come-true car, I hope to keep it for the duration of the ten year warranty or longer!

A great 2 passenger sports car

If you frequently carry adult passengers in the rear seats or if you need large trunk space, forget this car. The G70 is effectively a 2 passenger sports car that happens to have rear seats. But if you want a luxurious sports car for yourself and one passenger, the G70 is a tremendous value! It is FUN to drive, provides a very comfortable ride and is of high quality throughout. Edmunds complains about plastic in the interior, but the only place that is obvious to me is the back of the front seats; but given that kids are the only likely rear seat passengers, a durable backing that will withstand kicking seems like a benefit to me. I opted for the 2.0 Turbo. Unless you are going to race, it has plenty of power. I think it is worth springing for the Premier trim level to get the options that come with it. I love this car!

My 2nd Genesis - Didn’t Disappoint

After being totally impressed, I traded in my aging 3.8 Genesis sedan for a new G70 2.0T. Understanding the two cars are quite different, the G70 has delivered an experience above my fairly high expectations. The ride is sporty and nimble without being harsh. The 2.0 engine does the job, especially when the tranny is in sport mode. I still get a nice grin when putting the car through it’s paces. For me, the car is just the right size. Me, my wife and three children all can enjoy the car without being super cramped. However, it is more comfortable with four passengers. I have the base model but the tech and safety features are on par for the class and check all the major boxes for what I was looking for. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the purchase and could recommend the G70 to anyone considering a sports sedan in this price range.

I’ve had this car three years September 20. My 3.3 all wheel drive 2019 has been nothing but a lemon. It has been in the shop at least five months total it’s all been warranty work. The dealerships in Charlotte are horrible they send you to other dealerships their workmanship is terrible they leave parts off I drove 3 hours with nuts and bolts loose underneath my car a turbo that was loose even after the GM looked over my car in Charlotte. Do not go to modern Hyundai! As of now I just had a new transmission put in this vehicle drove one hour and 40 minutes put miles on my car even though it is under warranty Genesis doesn’t care. That’s the closest dealership to me. A week and a half later I now need struts. The most Genesis has done for me is give me a $500 gift card and a $300 gift card!!! No extra warranty nothing !! I take my car in for regular maintenance so it’s not owner neglect. I actually love the car when it’s working BUT the service and customer relations are terrible for a car they claim you get a loaner driven to you etc. Stay away these cars are know for brake and rotor issues w zero fix , seat peels no fix either see to name basic repairs.

Not what you’d expect from a “luxury” brand

I bought a brand new 2020 Genesis G70, and it kept making a loud clunking noise from what appeared to be coming from the front passenger side tire when making left turns, the driver side window made an awful clicking sound whenever it went up/down (as if there was too much pressure against the glass), the plastic part right next to the driver side window on the outside of the car would pop in and out when closing the driver side door, and the audio would randomly turn on when driving on bumpy roads. When I turned the music off, then the radio would automatically turn on. The first Blue Hands center (a Hyundai certified service center) I went to said nothing was wrong with the car when I brought up the clunking noise. So, I took it to another Blue Hands center, and the technician there said something must be on the road to cause the car to make that noise, which was utter bullshit. Since he didn’t exactly know what the cause was, he told me to go to Hyundai Service Center. A technician at Hyundai Service Center also claimed nothing was wrong and gave me yet another bullshit explanation saying that Genesis cars are rear-wheel drive cars, so they’re susceptible to making that clunking noise when driving through a crosswalk. I said, “Okay. Then, let me drive another G70 and see if that car also makes a similar sound.” They brought another G70 for me to test drive, and, low and behold, that G70 didn’t make any noise whatsoever. After driving the car for 3 months, a guy from the high tech division finally discovered what was wrong with the car - defected engine mounts. I drove my car every day for 3 months with that loud clunking noise. What frustrates me even more is the fact that everyone at Hyundai (Blue Hands, Hyundai Service Center) kept insisting nothing was wrong with the car. If nothing was wrong with it, then why the hell would it keep making that clunking noise??? I’m sure driving the car around with bad engine mounts for 3 months wasn’t good for the car - who knows what other damages it caused. I paid full price for a brand new car I thought I can trust. After having all these issues, I can no longer trust my car and don’t even want it anymore. If I was going to get a defected car like this, I would’ve just bought a used car instead. It sure would’ve saved me a lot more money. When people buy new cars, they want to feel like they can trust the car because it’s brand new. I’ve had to fix several things on my car already, and it’s only been 3 months! Update: After they made some adjustments to the driver side window, it no longer makes the weird noise as if there was too much pressure against the glass, but now the window rattles from side to side when driving on bumpy roads.

Overall performance great but when it's comes to the bronze and chrome finishes, Genesis did a poor job. My entire front end of is a hot mess after 6 months of ownership. The dealership will not replace the defects chrome on the windows nor the defects bronze on grill. I'm very disappointed.

This car has excellent performance and handling. Dollar for dollar you can't beat it. It is very comfortable, has a tight suspension but not overly firm, does great on longer trips. The back seat is adequate and easy to access. The back seat room is about the same as the Infiniti Coupe I had for years but much easier to get in and out. The trunk fits 2 large suitcases plus smaller items. It has all the safety features you could ask for and these come standard with the basic trim. Genesis matches the "loaded" luxury cars but charges substantially less. The sound system is outstanding. I am very very happy with this car.

I think they hit a home run with this car

Purchased this car back in May and I got a ton of rebates, so the car was a great deal. I've got the 2.0 with the sports package, which includes the elite and prestige packages. I test drove both the 3.3 and the 2.0. The 3.3 was a rocket and really fun to drive, but just not practical for me. The 2.0 gave me all the power I needed, better fuel economy, plus, the ability to avoid speeding tickets. To date, I have been very pleased with my purchase. Here are the pros and cons per my experience with my car... Pros 1. Comfortable drive. Suspension is not too firm, not too soft. 2. Quality feeling interior 3. Cool tech features 4. Pretty good fuel economy for a 2.0 turbo pumping out 250+ HP/260 lb-ft of torque (I average about 26-27 mpg) 5. Only 7 months of ownership, but no major problems so far 6. Feels and looks way more expensive than what I paid for it. 7. I drive this car in eco mode a lot, but there's a noticeable difference in throttle response if I throw it into sport mode. If you want to have fun, that's the mode for you. 8. Great warranty 9. The genesis app that lets me remotely start/lock my car from anywhere. Cons 1. There is some issue with the sensors in front. Sometimes, when I'm driving and stopped in traffic, the front sensor will go off as if there was something moving in front of my car, but, really, it's just a car stopped in front of me. This happens randomly. If this gets addressed satisfactorily when I take my car in for servicing, my overall rating would go to 5 stars. 2. The back seat is cramped. BUT, adults do fit back there. My kids sit back there on occasion and they're 5'11" and 6'2". For a trip less than, say, 1 hour, it's ok. For a longer trip, if your rear seat passengers are around 6' or taller, they may want to kill themselves. 3. I'm fine with the 8" infotainment screen, but I sure would like that big monster they're putting in their cars now. 4. No specific Genesis dealership near me. I purchased my car at a Hyundai dealership. If they want to set themselves off as a high-end luxury brand, then you need to provide that level of service at a specific Genesis dealership. The one thing I can't comment on is the servicing of the vehicle, to include the pickup and car loaner feature they have. I have not taken my car in for servicing yet since I haven't put enough miles on it.

Nine month’s of ownership

I can only think of three negative aspects to owning this car. (1) infotainment screen rattles a little bit and (2) dealer customer service is absolutely TERRIBLE, and (3) reportedly poor re-sale value. Regarding the interior, I’m particularly impressed that most everything sounds - and feels - locked down tight to minimize rattle sounds. The only exception is an occasional (and subtle) rattle that comes from the infotainment screen when you accelerate from 0 mph. I HATE rattles in a car cabin, but honestly this is very subtle and I can live with it. About the rest of the car: exceptional! I’ve had the 2.0T Advanced (base trim) since November 2019 and the car continues to drive and handle fantastically. The 4-cyl engine delivers plenty of power and gets you to desired highway speeds very quickly. No complaints about the rest of the car and, I admit the complaint about the infotainment screen rattle is a very small detail. Regarding the dealer service, keep in mind it’s a Hyundai dealer. You (and your car) will be attended to by the same staff that tends to tons of Hyundai’s with msrp’s that are half that (or less than half) of your Genesis. There are downsides to this. My experiences with two local “Genesis” dealers (Roswell, GA and Duluth, GA Hyundai dealerships) have been very slow response times to your inquiries (if you even get a response at all) and a lack of knowledge about the car itself by the service departments. I understand it’s a new car line up, but there’s no excusing the bad customer service. On the bright side, Genesis’ call center is very knowledgeable and will help you obtain whatever you need (in my case, they forwarded my complaints to the dealership itself and forced them to do better). You will likely struggle on the customer service side while owning this car, but oh well. It’s worth it. Lastly, the resale value may not be so great, according to some people on the internet. There might be some truth to this, since it’s a new brand. For anyone wondering, I own the car (not leasing), but have hopes of selling it or trading it in to get the new g80 in the future. Overall, excellent car and no regrets here.

Such a great experience. Tight car. Great suspension. Fast car. Great tech. TECH COMPLAINTS: I wish it had wireless Apple CarPlay. Tried best reviewed third party adapter bought on Amazon but it was buggy. I wish brake auto-hold would stay on by default. Wireless charger for Apple devices in cases is spotty but just needs several minutes to start working. HUD is helpful. But I’m constantly changing the brightness for daytime for cloudy and sunny. The wheel on steering wheel for selections is easy to push down accidentally. Gets annoying after a while. Sometimes after coming to a stop behind a car at a traffic light, the system still beeps as if I’m too close to it. But that happens 2 seconds after I’ve already stopped. That's a little quirk but gets old after a while. DRIVING/MPG: Acceleration is delayed slightly and then it’s a rocket. Six cylinder in normal driving rarely turns on turbo. That increases longevity and engine reliability. I expect the four cylinder would activate more often. Highway MPG officially is 26. But I got consistently 29 and 30 going between 60 and 80 MPH and using both mid grade and 93 octane gas. Really great for a six cylinder. In-town, with several minutes of running parked, I get 19 combined. I keep it in the ECO setting all of the time. Other cars I’ve driven really reduce performance but this one doesn’t. I haven’t tested the modes thoroughly in aggressive conditions but driving regularly I can’t tell a difference between sport and ECO in transmission, acceleration, and suspension. Steering tightens up. If there is a change, it’s meant for more aggressive driving. EXHAUST: Many YouTube reviews for the model try to capture the exhaust sound. It sounds weak and small. But in real life, it's not that way at all. All 3.3T models were impressive. They had low tones that mics don't capture and had a solid purr. Sounds great outside when accelerating. It's a gentle but formative powerful sound. Inside, you miss all of that, too. I sounds like a engine that's not extra powerful. Still sounds better than most V6 engines. Some sound like 4-cylinders, but not this model. The engine sound that's supposed to be coming through speakers, like all the YouTube reviews mention, I can't tell a difference. Overall, it's still a better experience than usual. BACK SEAT: Back seat is great for kids of all sizes. Front facing car seats also work well. But seating is uncomfortable for front passengers if baby carseats are rear facing. I’d never recommend the car if you have a kid under 1 year old at least. COSMETIC ISSUES: Several 2019 G70 models I test drove from 2019 had their screens separating in the edges behind its glass. My 2020 didn’t. Also, fThe trim on some looks like it has imperfections but it’s actually residue from tape from original delivery. It just needs some special cleaning. Even with all that, I still recommend the car. Beautiful and quality interior, great driving experience.

This beutiful sports sedan is as fun to drive as is it is good looking. Great hot V6 turbo engine is smooth and great sounding. It's a secret high(er) class car than a BMW or Mercedes without the "snob" appeal badge. MT rated it better than all other cars - and it is living up to that praise for me thus far. No problems at all so far with anything. Update 12/10/24 - Still loving this car. Fun to drive, and I make excuses to use this G70 over my other vehicle.

If you are thinking about getting a G70, just do it!! You will not regret your decision, especially if you get the V6 3.3T Lambda engine. This car is fun, fast, and very well built. The craftsmanship and quality feel is amazing. Everything is real; if it looks like that material, it is that material, no fake stuff!! The engine and transmission is amazing. Although the engine is not a rev happy "over squared" design, it is ready at any notice to shoot up the RPMs and move. The Lambda V6 3.3T in this vehicle is by far one of the nicest engines I have driven. A lot of people complain about the 8-speed transmission being a little slow, but I think it shifts perfectly fine and crisp. The interior is built to last. If you don't require much, you will be perfectly at home with almost too much comfort. My favorite thing is the ventilated seats on sweaty days. My main focus of this review is how the G70 drives. As stated before, the engine has tons of power at any moment, is very responsive, and has tons of passing power/acceleration. No one will ride your butt in this car, just smash the gas and watch them disappear in the rear mirrors! It is amazing for highway travel. It hums at a low 1,500rpm @55mph, and about 1,800rpm @80mph. This engine will not scream at you for making it do its job. Not only is it a highway cruiser, but is super fun on the back roads. You almost always run out of real estate before you have to step on the brakes from accelerating (brakes are great too).I wouldn't say it has snap oversteer, but the front-end plows in first before you feel the rear slide out, so you can feel how hard you can push it. Maintenance is tricky, but doable. It requires 7.26qts of oil, which is a decent amount. But, if you are smart, you can get reasonably priced parts, as it is shares a lot of parts with Hyundai/Kia's. To change the oil, you have to remove some under panels, which is annoying, but reasonable. It does have a oil filter cartridge, no spin on type, not a huge fan of those. It also is pure GDI, so carbon build-up is possible on the valves. But with just those few complaints, everything is very accessible in the engine bay for a twin turbo V6. SUMMARY: You will mostly likely buy/lease this car and not want to let it go!

Too many good things about the car online, so I'm just listing cons. 3.3T engine rocks. However, even though it is stronger than my previous BMW, turbo lag is significantly worse. You press the gas pedal and wait for about 2 seconds for fully engaged engine. Climate control information is on the main display, not very smart, you start the car, and have to wait for display to load, then there is a message if you accept terms of driving, so... just a pain. Garage opener button is next to SOS button, beware in the dark you may press wrong thing. Plus on the remote, opening of the trunk is next to panic button, few times late at night I pressed wrong thing and woke up everyone at the house, and neighbors, beware. Transmission up-shifts little too early, sometimes I need to just gain little speed and would rather keep the same gear to save gas, and have less noise. Breaks create huge amount of dust, need to wash wheels constantly. Internal door handle is very far, if you get into the car and door is wide open, you have to really stretch and reach very far, and my arms are long. If I unlock the trunk I would like to unlock the doors too, can't find setting for that. No spare, although there is room for it above the battery. That is cheap Genesis! Rotating knob is easier to navigate menus and choose who to call when driving instead of touch screen. Buttons in the middle console feel cheap, and wobbly. Hopefully Genesis fixes these minor issues in the future.

So to start off I had literally the worst sales person ever who I literally refuse to deal with. I bought a model that was driven by a ceo in Toronto for 11k clicks it's got the sport, turbo 3.3 bs. On the pick up day they tell me it's not ready yet and they have to detail it and fix the brake !? The sales guy was so unprofessional I told him that's something I should have known before purchase. The the finance team hands me the keys and sends me off instead of delivering it and showing you how to use the car. Oh and they tried to sell me the car with summer tires in the middle of winter ! Why is this an issue ? ( Tired cost literally $3g on this thing). Sure enough any small pot hole will take out your tires so first month in that happened $1000 off the bat. Now a year later the AC is busted and apparently warranty is only for 1 year or 200000 kms. So that's not covered. They just quoted me $450 for a recharge. The wireless charger also broke ...the wireless connect services didnt work since day 1. And every damn 5k clicks this thing goes in for service. Not to mention insurance is alot too almost $300 a month I'm 27 female and have a good driving record. It's a money pit.

I leased this car based on the fabulous reviews however my experience has involved multiple trips to the dealership, parts being unavailable (8 months), being misled by the dealership from point of purchase to aftersales service. I have had ongoing issues with the car just about every month, including but not limited to: Trim discoloration, sunroof replacement, seat belts not retracting, the car going from drive into neutral, not being able to get the car from park into reverse without going back and forth several times and the most annoying is the Voice Command module in the car takes FOREVER to connect and you often have to switch to Siri on your phone. The GPS gives your directions after you have missed your turn and often gets confused in neighborhoods with small streets. Terrible gas mileage and no pick-up. There is no back seat to speak of but the back seats do fully fold down so your passengers can lay down in the back since your legs will not fit behind the front seats. Now the hood doesn't latch evenly on both sides.

Absolutely love the car! People complaining about having to visit a plebeian Hyundai dealer should have taken their money (more money actually) somewhere else! Also, Genesis has service valet for the first three years of ownership. So if your in the dealer within the first 3 of ownership that's on you! I'd much prefer to have a loaner car dropped off at my house! Pros: Fast, Fun, Not Generic, Seat Comfort, I could go on and on! Cons: Gas mileage isn't great (then again I could blame launch control, interstate on ramps, etc.. for some of mpgs), backseat isn't huge (roughly the same size of my old 2012 Lexus IS backseat)

One gripe with this car. It does not have a remote start on the key fob. The remote start, lock and unlock are on a smart phone application. It is a rare occassion indeed when it works. Very aggravating when you pay $40,000 for a luxury sports car. There is an aftermarket fix available for this design flaw but it costs $330.

I've had a lot of issues with the engine. For stalling on the road without any reason to a very strong gasoline smell... I've had so much problem with my G70 that I've decided to break my lease contrat after 36 month and pay the $4,000 penalty. Maybe I was unlucky, but I won't ever buy a Genesis again...

Recommended not to buy this car. The resale price drops too much. I bought the Genesis G70. When I decide to sale the price was my car $49K and they are giving me a price of $34K. It was the biggest mistake to buy the Genesis. Also, customer service is really poor they don't care besides the money. Please people think a few times before you buy this stupid car.

The car is beautiful to look at and comfortable ride. Drives well, but doesn’t handle like my Alfa Romeo, but this is to be expected. Handles well though and rides beautifully. Creature comforts are awesome. Sound system beautiful and little things like being able to ride with sunroof open and little road noise due to the air damper on sunroof make this car a must drive and must have. V6 rough on gas but can get close to 30mpg on interstate. Actually rating is like 4.5-4.75 stars.

An excellent combination of performance and luxury. Feels very similar to BMW 3 series with a nicer interior. Would give this 5 stars but have had a few issues that were covered under warranty but disappointing none the less. Genesis valet service has been a big plus and as far as I know the are the only brand that will bring your loaner car to your work place or residence while your car is being serviced and return your car to you when work is completed.

I have owned several luxury automobiles including a then new jaguar. I am older now(80) and I decided to purchase a modern vehicle with all the saftey features. For two years I studied the new car options. I came upon the genisus brand. Did my due diligence. And decided on the g70. Owned it now since 2019. Not only is it the best car for one's value. It is the best car which I have ever owned. I wanted a car which would be the last car that I would ever own. I made the correct choice. Now if I can last as long as my g70. And in as good of shape. I will die happy with my car. Everything is as advertised. Bonus. The trunk is large enough to accommodate my push cart and golf clubs. The car is really just an expensive golf cart. But that is what retirement is suppose to be. Happy driving my friends.

This car is awesome. It has everything I want in a car - great looks, super quick (passing on two-lane roads), remarkable mileage (over 30 MPG on highway trips), and on and on. Fold-down rear seats allows me to bring home purchases from Lowe's. App on iPhone allows me to start cooling the car after golf before I get there.

Worst Service Department

Genesis wants to be considered a luxury brand but their service department is a joke. At Lexus they bend over backwards to make sure you are taken care of the moment you show up for service. Genesis has a recall on my G70 and the dealership 5 miles from my house says they dont have any available times to perform the recall for the next 7 months. SERIOUSLY? I try to go to a less convenient location and their website wont allow me to schedule any times there either. I have called numerous times and only get voicemail without a return phone call. Genesis Corp was no help either. I will be selling and moving back to Lexus soon

Great car, too pricey for me at this time. Will look again in 2021.

Owned a Hyundai for years, looked at the Audi A4 and multiple BMWs but ultimately decided on a new 2020 G70 3.3T prestige. Amazingly fun to drive, no issues at all at 4900 miles. It gets plenty of compliments and most people can’t believe the price tag for what it comes with standard. Even if I know I’ll be in traffic, I am always excited to drive my G70.
