Truly excellent vehicle with up-to-date technology
After driving jaguars IDs and Mercedes for many years I just lease the new G 70 after my Jaguar lease had expired. Although I like the Jaguar it was short on performance with his 2.0 engine. I was attracted to the Genesis by the fact that this truly unique vehicle with out rages performance and multiple electronica goodies. The car was leased from a dealership in plantation Florida. Shortly after delivery however we noticed that the wheel balancing was off And I tried to contact the service department. Their website has crashed and their phones were not working. After no more than seven calls I went to the dealership and confronted the general manager who was not interested in resolving the issue. I have no complaints about the vehicle it is truly deserving of the accolades it is received. However genesis will never be a true competitor as long as it continues to share dealerships with Hyundai. High-end buyers are truly more demanding of the service department and sales department and a high-end a dealership can provide. They have an excellent car but their marketing is awfulAnd their customer support even worse
"IS THAT A BENTLEY?!?!?!?!"
No it's not, but they did steal that company's chief designer so...coincidence? Anyways, bring your ego; the uninformed only see the winged badge and won't leave you alone. Bicyclists make rude hand gestures, strangers ask you how much money you make, coworkers insist that the Siberian Ice Blue paint is in fact white and/or grey (it’s blue, fight me). In between all of them though, it's surprising just how many people know the car and its accolades. Newcomer sport sedans always get glowing reviews and awards even if they’re junk, but a five minute test drive reveals that the G70 is actually competitive in its own right. The interior is as beautiful in person as in pictures. It’s a tactile wonderland, with soft leather and machined aluminum in places I would never look. The optional V6 is also a firecracker. 0-60 in 4.5 seconds, AWD and launch control though so that was no surprise. What floored me was the NVH. Nothing creaks and nothing rattles, but somehow that doesn’t make it feel like a boat. A 3,800lb sedan has no right to corner like this and STILL have this of a nice ride! It does though, and for that reason I’d skip the sport trim unless you’re going to the track, the standard springs are plenty stiff for on-road shenanigans. In this vein, I disagree with saying there’s no point in choosing the base G70 over a top-trim midsize sedan because it’s no faster. I traded up from a six-cylinder Legacy and, despite it being just as fast as the four-pot G70, the Genesis is a superior machine in every single way. Less is true of its underdog sports sedan competitors though. I WANTED to like the Cadillac and the Alfa Romeo, especially here in the sea of German luxury cars called New York, but come test-drive time the Genesis danced circles around them. It drives better, looks better, and has the best ownership perks by a mile. If you want a sports sedan that’s good AND different, this is really the only one you can have. Only a few problems: bad mileage and a tiny tank mean lots of fuel stops, if you’re over 6’3 you’ll have to lose the sunroof or your head won’t fit, and yes they are sold at Hyundai stores, but if that means Genesis can sell them as cheap as they do so be it. Overall this G70 has turned into my dream-come-true car, I hope to keep it for the duration of the ten year warranty or longer!

A great 2 passenger sports car
If you frequently carry adult passengers in the rear seats or if you need large trunk space, forget this car. The G70 is effectively a 2 passenger sports car that happens to have rear seats. But if you want a luxurious sports car for yourself and one passenger, the G70 is a tremendous value! It is FUN to drive, provides a very comfortable ride and is of high quality throughout. Edmunds complains about plastic in the interior, but the only place that is obvious to me is the back of the front seats; but given that kids are the only likely rear seat passengers, a durable backing that will withstand kicking seems like a benefit to me. I opted for the 2.0 Turbo. Unless you are going to race, it has plenty of power. I think it is worth springing for the Premier trim level to get the options that come with it. I love this car!

My 2nd Genesis - Didn’t Disappoint
After being totally impressed, I traded in my aging 3.8 Genesis sedan for a new G70 2.0T. Understanding the two cars are quite different, the G70 has delivered an experience above my fairly high expectations. The ride is sporty and nimble without being harsh. The 2.0 engine does the job, especially when the tranny is in sport mode. I still get a nice grin when putting the car through it’s paces. For me, the car is just the right size. Me, my wife and three children all can enjoy the car without being super cramped. However, it is more comfortable with four passengers. I have the base model but the tech and safety features are on par for the class and check all the major boxes for what I was looking for. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the purchase and could recommend the G70 to anyone considering a sports sedan in this price range.

Never AGAIN!
I’ve had this car three years September 20. My 3.3 all wheel drive 2019 has been nothing but a lemon. It has been in the shop at least five months total it’s all been warranty work. The dealerships in Charlotte are horrible they send you to other dealerships their workmanship is terrible they leave parts off I drove 3 hours with nuts and bolts loose underneath my car a turbo that was loose even after the GM looked over my car in Charlotte. Do not go to modern Hyundai! As of now I just had a new transmission put in this vehicle drove one hour and 40 minutes put miles on my car even though it is under warranty Genesis doesn’t care. That’s the closest dealership to me. A week and a half later I now need struts. The most Genesis has done for me is give me a $500 gift card and a $300 gift card!!! No extra warranty nothing !! I take my car in for regular maintenance so it’s not owner neglect. I actually love the car when it’s working BUT the service and customer relations are terrible for a car they claim you get a loaner driven to you etc. Stay away these cars are know for brake and rotor issues w zero fix , seat peels no fix either see to name basic repairs.
