Huge improvement over the econoline
I have had this van now 119 months, and driven 114,000 trouble free miles. It is a joy to drive. Getting in and out of parking spaces is amazingly easy considering it is a full size commercial vehicle. Back up camera and bumper alarm sensors work great. Arm rests on seat and door are comfortable. I don't like the heater pulling in outside air. I am constantly pushing the "recycle cabin air" button, because it stays in that mode only for a limited time. Not sure if that is a mandate or just done by Ford on their own. I also had a Prins propane system installed on the 3.7L V-6. So it now runs on propane or gasoline. I paid $1.70 per gallon for propane on December 26, 2024. I am saving about 5-10 cents per mile burning propane, fuel costs only, depending on price, which is $5000 - $10,000 per 100,000 miles. Well worth the $5600 upfront cost, the $1000 incentive rebate, and the tax benefits. The Prins propane system has worked trouble free for 77,000 miles. I did make the mistake of adding the remote start when I ordered the van. Forget it. When you start it remotely the horn honks twice and the doors lock! Then you have to unlock the door and when you open it the engine shuts off. The dogs and the neighbors are not happy when the horns honk. I have had zero problems with this van. Very happy with it. Has NEVER been in the shop for repairs. I can't hardly believe the negative reviews. My sliding door did have an alignment issue when it was new. I noticed the metal pin that goes in the hole in the front of the door was not lined up quite right. I simply loosened the 2 bolts holding the pin in place and adjusted it to line up with the hole and now it shuts very easy, no clunking or any issues since. A little mechanical know how goes a long way. Also it does shut a little easier when a window is cracked open. You DO NOT have to open the door. I still have the original duel batteries after almost 10 years. The batteries are AGM type batteries, because they are under the driver seat, which generally last twice as long as lead acid. If your batteries are dying in 18 months you are using them in ways they were not made to be used. I have no problem getting 10 years out of all my batteries. Some people are always having auto issues. Their driving style is very abusive on the equipment. And then of course they blame the auto. I have purchased 4 brand new fords in my lifetime and they have all been very dependable.

Is it worth it?
I love the truck when nothing is wrong with it and every time it goes into a Ford dealership it's over $1,400 dollars Even when I take it to a different dealership it's a big game the dealer tells you this needs to be done when supposedly the other dealer already did it or at least charged for it. The maintaince cost since this truck was new has been through the roof especially the brakes lasting only 10 thousand miles with one careful driver and the dealership has told me they have replaced brakes on these transit with only 8 thousand miles. Its reliable and only broken down once with 50 thousand miles but something is always wrong with it

With 56,000 miles of hard driving
I purchased my van brand new and never regret it. I towed with it a 7,000 pounds trailer full of construction debris with minimum trouble for years. Everything works as intended with only a few recalls which were taken care by the dealer.Love love love the way it drives better then any competitors including the Sprinter. My only de slime is the actual Ford dealers . They don’t take much care on you!

So far, so good
I had an Econoline 250 for the last 7 years with 240K miles, and never had a wrench in the engine. So when I totaled it, and the time came to purchase something new, I decided (after considering another '14 E-250) on a '15 Transit. As far as the handling, steering, braking, and rigidity of the vehicle, it's head and shoulders above the Econoline. I suppose only time will tell if I have the same good fortune with the engine as I had with the E-250. The only couple gripes I have with this new vehicle are minor. There's no cruise control. I do a lot of highway driving, and used it all the time in the E-250. The lack of downward tilt on the steering wheel lends to an uncomfortable position for your arm(s) while driving. There's no auto-up feature for the driver's window.
