I purchased my Ford Ranger USED (Nov, it was a city vehicle, had 52000 miles on it. (Purchased in May 2019) What I like is the long bed. (it was a fleet vehicle) Went through it replaced shocks, tires, and converted the brakes to drilled/slotted discs, upgraded to all LED lighting, and upgraded the stereo. What a difference. The truck has quite a bit of power, for the 4 cylinder, I was surprised and the bonus was excellent gas mileage. I am 6'5" the cab is a little tight, but not bad. I am installing a drive-shaft clutch so I can tow it behind my motorhome. It does have wind noise and squeaks, but for the money, I will deal with it! Again, really pleased.

Having taken the Ranger on several trips I questioned the horsepower ratings made by ford. I took it to a dyno shop here in Sacramento and the truck produced 124 peak horsepower. This is about right counting drive train power lose. Ford claims 156 so at 20% drive train lose, this number, 124, is right on. Here is what I don't understand. The Ranger won't pull the same hills as the 1991 Mazda truck did. The Mazda got 27.5 miles per gallon. The ford Ranger gets 27.5 miles per gallon. So where is the progress? Ford has had 19 years to get the same gas mileage? Ford also chose to make the bed shorter, presumably to save money. I purchased the ford bedliner, now the bed cannot hold six feet.

2010 xlt great little 4 cylinder auto with ABS and disc brakes but many have taken to small claims court over defective paint job. Drove a 1972 Landcruiser for 15 years so stiff suspension no problem put some B F Goodrich muscle car tires and may upgrade shocks. Had a 91 Ranger with good paint ????

they rust out in 6 years.frame is almost gone. and less than 50000 miles on it. will never buy another ford.

Have a 2010 ranger 4.0, for 7 years now, only a battery and brakes have I ever replaced on it.Daily driver, and it's quicker than they say.
