Best little trucks out on the market have on several different trucks of this particular style between the years of 1998 and 2000 you cannot beat them for what they are nothing special but plenty of power for every day needs an excellent traveler very comfortable truck extremely reliable hands-down! Definitely good looking little trucks as well been very pleased with everyone I’ve ever owned this is the first one of these I’ve had with the 4.0 V6 and it definitely makes a difference I highly recommend this Ranger

Purchased my 98 ranger 5 years ago and put about 50 k miles on it. I love to drive it and the truck is a pleasure to drive but it is a costly ride. The reverse linkage broke in the transmission, $2500, 4X4 locking hubs failed $600, heater fail $900, door latch fail $125, valve covers leaks $150, front wheel bearing $450. I still like the truck but!!!!!!!

Relibale vehivle. First purchase, couldn't afford anything down but 48 monthly payments okay at 0.9 APR. 36K warranty fixed an exhuast problem at 3k since then no complaints and has been a reliable commuter vehicle with the occasional camping trip or help someone move (all truck owners know what I'm talking about...) Owns the mountains wiht chains ... can't complain! Small 2.5L engine gets the job done and the 25 MPG ain't bad.

11 Years & Still Going Great

I bought this truck used when it was about 6 months old. I got to say I really like it. While not the most comfortable or most stylish vehicle, the thing works great. I have over 135,000 miles on it and have not had a single problem besides normal wear & tear and 1 leak in the roof started last year (which I still haven't fixed - lazy me). The power is decent. I have no problem getting up to 65 mph when I get on the highway. It's not very comfortable to ride in on long trips, but hey it's a small pick up, not a Mercedes.

My ONLY peeve is the turn signal / wiper control assembly. The turn signal disengages too easily and the wipers turn on sometimes when I signal. This is a Quality problem compared to some other vehicles I've owned.
