So i just bought my first ford ever a 2016 mustang ecoboost competition orange it has every option avaliable so it cost $2k more than the GT big deal so far getting 28mpg and thats after a few wide open runs and going 100+ a couple times and aftermarket parts wow endless supply just ordered $1500 worth parts should be right around 400hp without all the weight the GT carries only complaint is the back seat is pretty much non existent and the little 4 cylinder does use premium gas other then that happy with my purchase. If you're looking into the camaro do yourself a favor and check out the mustang interior is light years ahead sorry chevy just switched teams!

No longer an Ecoboost Skeptic
I have always been skeptical of an ecoboost mustang, this car however is a fantastic surprise. Great acceleration , great handling and a fantastic interior (premium). Be aware, blind spots are an issue, so BLISS maybe a worthwhile investment. Overall, driving to work is now something I look forward to!

At the preset time, the Eco has 37,000. It appears doing well. Now the gas mi. seems not to the Ford recmd. I still use 87oct. No need for 93 oct. My car is a every day drive. So no need for a GT to drive 40- to 60 every day, but if you want to fell that The GT is the way to go. Go for it.

A Decent Sports Car...
that needs a little more low-end punch! NOTE: The review selection only had the 6-speed manual transmission listed. I owned the one with 6-speed automatic transmission. VEHICLE: 2016 2.3L Mustang Eco-boost Premium with 6-speed automatic transmission EXTERIOR COLOR: Guard Metallic INTERIOR COLOR: Dark Saddle Leather Trim Power Seat MILEAGE: 18510 PROS: Handling; Looks; Performance; Gas mileage; Comfort; Trunk size. CONS: Gas Mileage; Handling; Cruise Control; Blind Spots; Build Quality. MODS: Gas hood struts; Upgraded floor mats; Trunk cargo net; Sun shade; Nitrogen conversion for tires. Wished-for Enhancements: Better rear end grip; Electric Boost Technology. The modifications are pretty self-explanatory, therefore I want talk about them except to say that I ‘HIGHLY’ recommend vehicles with gas hood/trunk/hatch struts. I also recommend replacing the air in your tires with nitrogen. It provides a more consistent tire pressure over greater temperature changes. I've owned the vehicle for 3-years and enjoyed it very much. It's my second vehicle that I only drive a couple days per week, and on out-of-town trips. My local driving is a combination of rural roads and interstate. I've yet to achieve the rated 32 MPG highway mileage, but I'm still averaging ~24 combined MPG. I expect the MPG to increase as the miles build. A drop of 300-to-500 vehicle pounds would be a welcome improvement. The Guard Metallic color is an attractive color on this vehicle. It’s one of those colors that, depending on sunlight looks green to some, or black or silver to others. I’m always receiving “positive” complements on it. The dark saddle interior is also a big plus. The performance is good and meets most of my expectations. I’ve not personally tested/verified the performance numbers, but there are plenty of automotive review experts (and some amateurs) who have, and I’m satisfied my vehicle is within their test perimeter’s, or at least it feels so too me. It would be proper for this vehicle to at least have the engine in the Fusion Sport to ensure its performance numbers are on par (or above) those of its 4-door stable mate. This is a very comfortable traveling vehicle for 2-adults and their luggage. If the large trunk does not have enough space, you can drop the rear seatbacks to expand the luggage space. This should provide more than enough luggage capacity for weeks of traveling enjoyment. Although it is a good, comfortable, and excellent handling cruiser, it does have some large rear blind spots. The blind-spot detection and warning systems are an excellent addition. They should be mandatory on all vehicles. Adaptable Cruise Control, which is available but not on my vehicle, works with these safety systems and would be a welcome addition. I place gas mileage in both pros and cons because I’m not currently experiencing the MPG numbers I expected, however, the vehicle is still being broken in. I’ve driven the car on one (2) long range trip (~13-hours for each), and I was able to average 30-MPG. On short range trips (~2-to-3-hours), I’m seeing ~26 MPG, but they include mountainous travel (between Chattanooga, TN and Nashville/Murfreesboro, TN). Another item I listed in Pros and Cons is handling. On dry pavement and in warm weather, this vehicle handles excellently. However, if it rains or the temperatures are cool/cold (below 50-degrees), the rear end gets loose! The tire tread is in great shape (close to new tire depth). I’ve talked to other Mustang owners of this generation body style, and they indicate they have the same issue. Some of them said putting larger tires on the rear would help mitigate the problem, however I was not keen on buying new tires. Further research indicated turning off traction control and placing the vehicle in Rain/Snow Mode could also mitigate the problem. I tried this solution and it worked well enough for me. I listed build quality as a complaint because the vehicle does not seem to be put together as well as some of its competitors, say the Chevrolet Camaro. A couple of straight forward examples are: 1) the lack of gas struts for the hood, and 2) the non-finished trunk struts. The Camaro has both of these, but that’s for another discussion. I traded this vehicle for a Camaro SS in August 2019. This was mostly about completing one of my bucket list items (to own a version of each Pony Car), but it was also to experience that one last V8 driving exhilaration before the gas prices begin to rise and I switch to a hybrid or EV vehicle (there’s nothing like instant torque that you get in these vehicles). While I love these ‘Muscle Cars’, I’m cognizant of the damage they do to the environment. Sometimes ‘CHANGE’ is good! I was very pleased with this vehicle and give it a thumbs-up recommendation!
