Beautiful design, but it better be your second car

We purchased the 2013 Ford Mustang GT in August of 2012. It is beautifully built, nicely detailed, has the Sync system which allows hands-free calling and streaming of Pandora, etc. However, the comfort of the car is horrible!! If this is your play car only, it might work. But if you have to drive this car any distance, forget it. You can definitely feel the road, but not in a good way. Every bump hurts after a little while. And forget trying to drive it in the rain...yikes! So Ford, you did a beautiful job in making a nice car, but the comfort factor made us sell the car within 3 months.

I special ordered this car with the Trac Pack, Recaro leather seats, side scoops, and rear quarter window louvers in Sterling Metallic Gray. The car looks brand new this day. I was unsatisfied with the suspension so replaced the springs, struts, shocks, and sway bars with Eibach parts. Added a Whiteline Watts link to the rear end in order to keep the differential centered and improve road handling. The car has Magna flow performance mufflers and exhaust tubing has been changed to 3” diameter. K&N air filter with cold air intake and Bama Tune complete mods to this date. I don’t know the hp rating, but floor the throttle in second gear at any speed or rpm, with traction control on, and the rear end wants to come around ad tires spin for at least four car lengths. Acceleration is brisk in 5th gear! I love it. Caution is advisable when passing as 70-130 happens very quickly in 4th gear. Rev limit occurs at 7500rpm, enabling 60+ in second. Road hold greatly improved, playing tag with motorcycles on Mulholland drive is fun. Gas mileage sucks if not prudent with go fast pedal, but giggles and grins rise exponentially! As of Dec. 2019 the Mustang is gone. Ford repurchased it from me under the “Lemon Law” Provision. At 21,000, 31,000, and 41,000 miles problem with rear end or transmission necessitated shop stays of over 5 weeks each episode. My warranty had expired and the risk of a yearly $2,000 repair bill was not acceptable. Sorry to see it go.

Roush RS

The 2013 Roush RS is a very affordable way to own a legendary Roush vehicle. The 3.7 V6 has plenty of HP with it's 305 HP and gets 31 mpg. Though it may not be a supercharged beast, the Roush RS is still quite the Roush performer with it's list of Roush options including lowering springs, tune, Cai and Roush exhaust. It comes with three option pkgs. and two transmission options. Among the 3 options are a base model, tech PKG. and a premium pkg.along with manual or automatic transmission. The affordable price tag is a huge plus for those on a budget or just don't want to shell out large dollars for the V8 supercharged version. It's a great all around performer as well as a daily driver without the stiffness that comes with these amazing vehicles, and the appearance pkg on the Roush RS is quite the eye catcher ( Roush hood scoop, rear spoiler, front and side splitters, badging/decals, rims and other goodies to make it a good looking mustang). So if you're looking for a mustang that is more than just another plain V6, check out the Roush RS.

I purchased my 2013 base model 6 spd GT in 9/12. Bluetooth was added by the dealer. I track the car so have modified the suspension, brakes, shifter and 'tune'. Also Recaro seats (leather) were installed and a harness bar. The car started as a base model but I wanted the track apps of the premium model - I actually didn't realize it didn't come with the base model. Poor research on my part. Anyway - I sourced a premium dash cluster and reprogrammed it to work. So now I have track apps. With the suspension/tire/brake mods, it now pulls over a 'g' on the track. Only minor complaints to date: the back panel between the tali lights delaminates. Apparently it's a common problem, the dealer claims cosmetics are out of warranty. Additionally, the left rear radio speaker is malfunctioning. Oh - I'm STILL waiting for the airbag recall replacement.
