Used 2000 Ford Mustang 2dr Coupe Consumer Reviews
extremely unsatisfied
I would never buy a Ford again. I have had three and I have learned my lesson. The catalytic converter went out on my 2000 Ford Mustang and it was very expensive. Ford did not replace any parts to it and I would not recommend anybody struggling with any Ford vehicle. Prior to that I had a Taurus that the transmission went out on it. They are the worst and unreliable cars that I've had.
V6 Stang - not bad at all
I own a modified Saleen Mustang as well as this stang, so the V6 is a turtle compared to the Saleen. But as a daily driver it is a fun, reasonably quick, good looking commuter that also gets pretty good mileage (averaging 25-26mpg). I have had no mechanical problems with the car in over 3 years of ownership. The one exception being a defective seat belt roller, which was replaced under warranty. All in all it is a good vehicle, probably will be traded for a 2005 stang next year.

Having second thoughts
I have mixed feelings about my Mustang. Although the car is fun to drive and easy on the eyes, I have not been too satisfied. The auto insurance is sky high. I have had mechanical problems (valves rattling, car would not crank). Ford could never find out what was wrong. The gas mileage is not good. I get about 20 miles per gallon. I have 33,000 miles on my car and I just replaced the tires because they were bald. This is from normal driving. The tires are also very expensive because you have to buy performance tires. I'm not trying to turn anyone off from buying the Mustang; just realize that it is a very expensive car to keep up.
My Mustangs perfect
I love my mustang, it was cheap...for the quality of the car. It's fun to drive. But it's a teenage car. It's not too fast, and not slow enough to bore you. I think mustangs are very adorable looking and I would buy another one, but this time I would buy a Cobra.
Never another Ford
First new car ... what a disappointment. Rotors warped coming off the lot, Ford wouldn't replace. Seat belt wouldn't retract after a few months - two trips to the dealer. Transmission seal failed after 1 year. Transmission, rear differential, and clutch all died after 1.5 years - 3 trips to the dealer (total of 3 weeks in the shop). Had to beg for a loaner car. Window now rubs the frame when shutting the door. Got rear- ended, dealer body shop put a bumper on that had a bend in it where one corner of the bumper sat an inch out from the rest of the body, told us "if you want quality parts, buy a Mercedes." Had to force him to fix it.
