Used 2003 Ford Focus Wagon Consumer Reviews
I love this car!
I knew nothing about the Focus 7 years ago when I was shopping for a replacement for my 1993 Explorer, so I drove across town to checkout a wagon on the low end of my budget. It had 114,000 miles on it, but in quite nice shape and plenty of hauling room in the back. A 20 minute test drive on the freeway impressed me as the car was nimble and fun to drive; it reminded me a bit of my motorcycling days! Over 7 years later, it's still running great and delivering almost 27 mpg on average for the last year. It's made many 800 mile round trips and one 2400 mile drive to Denver and back without any issues, and will cruise all day at 80 mph and deliver almost 30 mpg. I do my own work and have done a lot of the regular repairs needed, such as timing belts, water pumps, thermostat housings, shocks, struts, exhaust, hoses, 7000 mile oil and filter changes, blah blah blah, and the engine and tranny still run well. The only reason I am looking for a replacement is that the road salt here is eating the body alive. That being said, I'll drive this car into the ground, as I do all my cars, but this is my first car to exceed 200,000 miles and I bet it will get to 300,000 if the body holds up. Update: I had to salvage the car due to severe subframe rust caused by Michigan road salt. The car ran fine, but became unsafe to drive due to the deterioration of the rear end.

Will cost you in maintenance and tires
Cons: -I'm writing this in 2019. I got this car probably 4 or 5 years ago. It had 35k miles on it. Every single year I've had it I've probably put at least $1200 or more in maintenance and repairs into it. -It also eats through tires fast so that's an additional cost there. I live in Phoenix AZ so the hot weather probably doesn't help. -The car now has less than 84k miles on it and I just put $2000 into it yesterday because the front suspension, tensioner, and air conditioning. It's getting to be even more of a money pit and I've only put 50k miles on it in the years I've owned it. -It depreciates in value quite fast. Pros: -I like the concept of this wagon. It's a pretty feminine car and it's old, but it's spacious and you can do a lot with it. I've camped in it a few times and it's actually pretty comfortable if you put the back seats down. -Pretty decent and fun car for road trips. -You can stow a lot in it and the top racks are good for things like paddleboards and canoes.

Fun affordable European Sport Wagon
This ain't your momas wagon. TheFocus ZTW Wagon is only 10in. longer than the sedan and uses the same, well tuned suspension. Power plant is the smooth running Zetec 2.0, 130HP engine. Drivers seat has up/down and lumbar support adjustment-very nice. Extreamly roomy interior and excellent sound system. Styling is totally Euro ( Get the CD-Silver)
awsome! then you have the paint...
this car has been great to me, i bought it used with 30.000 miles. the guy put a K&N and loud exhaust... sounded great, until i got caught with it (illegal in my state). the only problem with it was the alternator. except it was not, it was a fuse in between the alternator and the motor. Then the paint peeled, spotted, bubbled, and cracked on the bumper. the paint peel happened on the hatchback. right above the light. the BLACK car now had WHITE spots on the back. and the rear bumper is full of very small cracks. None of this is because of lack of care, i and very ocd on apperance.
Zippy
I'm very pleased with car. I swore I'd never buy a inline 4 but thiscar has plenty of power. Interior is very good its held up very well. Just enough cup holder and compartments for me. Love to be able to put down back seats to haul bigger loads its not like a truck but for hauling 5 ppl and maybe a dog or 2, grocery shopping, buying a tv or, throw your bicycle in easy peasy.
