Good solid truck. Have had vehicle for ~18 months and put on 8,000 miles. So far no issues. I have tow package and have used it to haul trailer w/motorcycle. Truck easily handled towing duties. Rural driving averaging 23 mpg, when towing 15 mpg. Supercab is functional as can carry 5 passengers for short trips, but long trips will only carry 1 passenger comfortably plus dog with back seat bench in up position. At this point highly recommend 2.7 eco boost. My brother in law has 3.5 eco boost and is of similar mind. Note my truck has 6.5 ft bed not 8 ft bed. Owned for 3.5 years, have ~24,000 miles. Gas mileage suburban driving average 25 might. Highway at speeds 65 mph or greater 23.5 mpg, towing 8x5 foot trailer averaged 16.5 mpg. No sihnifiant mechanical issues. Last oil change mechanic advised that rear shock absorber may be leaking and may need to be replaced. Have ordered shocks and will DIY replacement. Am very happy with truck. Truck has almost 30,000 miles. Had to change rear shocks as one of original factory installed shock started leaking. Also drained transmission fluid and this noticeably improved up/down shifting. Am continuing to get 25+ miles per gallon in mostly rural driving which includes bed loaded with brush/ firewood. Remain happy with truck.

Hi I am a ford guy I have owned my family has owned 10 through the years. My first brand new f150 was in 2014. This truck had a 5.0 and drove like an American dream! I was hit from behind very hard and bent some things. I put sixty thousand miles with one issue which the dealer repaired and that was the water pump failed. I decided to trade it in after the shop repaired the damages. I purchased a 2018 f150 5.0 with a councel and 10 speed transmission. At 2500 miles I changed the oil because of idle time. The engine started to make a typewriter noise and the steering pulled to the right. The claimed the steering was out of align and they fixed the problem. Than the engine noise is common and not to repair. 10000 miles there is a cherp at idle and it burns a quart of oil every 2500 miles. They make the repairs and still has a typewriter sound. Ok the steering wonders and I talk with the sales manager and he tells me to buy new tires keep in mind not even 11000 miles plus the truck was 45000 dollars. I hit a bump and there is a squeaking noise they will not acknowledged. The auto start stop feature puts in a slight miss from time to time. The dealer has had to flash the transmission because it can not find a gear from 3 to 5th. If you roll the windows up turn the radio up hold the steering wheel at 10 and 2 the truck handles nice and sounds good. Ford broke my heart

I searched for months and within a 1000 mile range for this truck. I wanted the super cab with 6.5 bed, 4x4, XLT 302A pkg, 2.7 EcoBoost with the 36 gallon tank. There was only 4 trucks within 1000 miles which had this combination. I ended up purchasing this truck in Georgia for 15K below sticker. Currently at 36K miles. Absolutely no mechanical issues. Combination of the 2.7 and the 10 speed transmission consistently provides 22-23 mpg. Combined with the big tank, i get over 700 miles of range!! Only complaints is that truck did not come with Fx4 pkg from factory (but still has the locking diff pkg) I used my Ford Pass points to purchase the FX4 skid plates and installed myself. Original Michelin tires still look new. Will probably get 80K out of them. Will probably purchase another set of take off wheels / tires to install on truck in hunting season for more off road traction. Overall i love the truck and plan on keeping it for 20 years like my last truck (Ram 1500) Update: Now at 45K miles, absolutely no mechanical issues. No rattles, no windnoise, a perfect vehicle for my needs. Update: Now at 52K, no issues what so ever. no rattles, no wind noise, still getting 22-23 mpg. Tires are still at 50% tread. Will probably be setting up the rear end with air bags in the future, when loading bed with dirt / mulch, the suspension will compress to the bump stops, my old Dodge could carry alot more (but it rode like a 3/4 ton) Hopefully the air bags will not comprimise the unloaded ride characteristics. Update: Now at 70K, no mechanical issues. Still riding quiet and smooth. Nothing but regular oil changes. I replaced the torn fabric transmission cover with a more protective part. I was considering an extended warranty (mainly for the 10 speed transmission) but did not purchase. Closer to 100K i will have the pan dropped for service and have the TSB performed as a proactive measure. Still getting 22-23 mpg. Original tires will be replaced before winter. Update: Now @ 87K, did the 100K service early (Diff fluid, transmission, plugs, etc) Everything looked very good coming out. Used Fluid extractor for front diff and transmission, New tires installed at 75K. MPG slipped to ~ 20-21 but i blame the larger, more off road tires for that. No problems at all. Best truck I've ever had. @ 94K now, no changes, no problems, not even a squeak or rattle. Windshield will need replaced soon as the rock chips are adding up. Plastic oil pan has developed a small weep leak, but only loosing a few ounces between 5K OCI. Cost is like $4K to swap to the newer pan with gasket (bad decision by Ford to glue a plastic oil pan to a CGI engine block)

My 2018 F150 XLT super cab 6.5ft bed RWD 2.7L ecoboost sport is exactly the vehicle I asked for & enjoy immensely. I traded a 2014 F250 XLT 4x4 6.7L power stroke diesel for this & the difference is night & day in terms of agility & ease of operation.

False mileage claims by Ford

We purchased this F150 with the 2.7 EcoBoost engine in Kent Washington this afternoon, 2-3-18. We drove it 175 miles down I-5 south into Oregon at the speed limit. Ford claims in their F 150 booklet that this truck will get 20 MPG in the City, 26 MPG on the highway and 22 MPG combined MPG. This is completely untrue. We never exceeded the speed limit, traffic was very light and all the driving was on I-5 with no city driving. The roads were dry, yet we obtained 16 MPG for this very first trip. If I could take the truck back right now I would. Ford is lying about fuel economy. I could get 16 in my 1996 Chevrolet Suburban 22 years ago when I purchased it new. I am so angry about this truck because of the lies from Ford.
