Used 2006 Ford F-150 Consumer Reviews
Expectations met!
Have been looking for a crew cab pickup for 6 months. Checked them all out, GMC, Chevy, Dodge, Nissan & Toyota. The F-150 was the best. It just drove so much nicer than any other plus was the best looking. The Lariat has all you need for bells and whistle's. The Smoketown/Beige 2 tone exterior color is sweet! Only complaint would be the gas mileage. If you really baby it and coast to stop signs and such you can get 20mph but that's no fun.
Great family truck
Love the truck, can get family of four into w/no prob. Truck tow great, no lack of torque for hulling.
Like my Truck
This is my 8th new Ford truck in the past 12 years. I have put approximately 650,000 miles on these trucks in the 12 years since my first. I am convinced that no other truck could or would have given me the service I got from these vehicles. Other than some initial adjustments under warranty I have not spent $1 in vehicle repairs (break downs, part failures). Shocks, tires and normal maintenance is all I have ever needed to do!
Just What We Wanted
Traded 01 Supercrew for 06. It meets our needs perfectly. Interior finish & passenger accommodations are excellent. The short bed holds everything 2 adults and 3 kids need to travel. Gas mileage is down from 01 but slightly exceeds predictions. The ride is quiet & a little stiff but handling is excellent. Interior storage space is minimal (rear underseat space taken up by the sub woofer). Rear seaters miss individual reading lights. Wheel wells (especially rear) are not closed off as well as the 01 & are difficult to keep clean (also impacts looks). Side impact strip would prevent "door dings". "Nit Pick": would like more substantial grill in vehicle in this price range.
My awesome experience
This is the best truck that I have owned in the last 25 years. The interior makes me the envy of my co-workers. The Smokestone/Arizona beige paint combination really stands out. Power and maneuverability in this truck is unbelievable. You would not think that by the way it handles that this is a big, heavy truck.
