Spark plugs, spark plugs, spark plugs
Okay, first of all, great truck at a great value. However, I had a brake caliper sieze up at around 50k. Also, when I went to conduct regular maintenance and started a spark plug swap, 3 of them broke off in the heads. This is because of a design flaw, and whoever thought it was a good idea to engineer a spark plug into three pieces should be shot. Now that there’s three broken off, I had no choice but to completely remove the heads to prevent ceramic fragmentation from the spark plugs from falling into the combustion chamber. Needless To say, a standard spark plug swap is gonna be expensive on this truck whenever you have to do it.

SuperCrew
My only other consideration was a Nissan Titan. I found the Ford to be much more what I liked in the end.The F150 just felt more like a truck and it's bigger. The Titan is nice, but its almost over refined. I want a truck that feels and looks like a truck. The F150 is easy to add mods to and I liked that as well. I'm glad I went back to American vehicle ownership. It makes me proud to drive it everyday.

Try It You Will Love It
We just purchased another FX4 because we loved the 2002 we had. We find that the vehicle rides as nice as any car and we need it to tow our 27 foot trailer with all our toys, whether it's snow mobiles or 4 wheelers. There is plenty of power and the gas mileage is decent. The interior is roomy because we have the super crew model and everything is easily accessible from the drivers seat.
So far I love it
I just leased the '06 FX4 SuperCrew after driving a BMW, Volvo and Benz in that order. I had an F-150 about 9 years ago. My how things have changed. I researched a lot of trucks, especially the new Ram since we get family pricing, but it could not match the quality that I found with the Ford. The interior is what ultimately did it for me. I still feel like I am in my C230 Kompressor. The ride will take some getting used to, but I love being able to see the road. My kids and wife love it. There's a lot of room in the back and my wife says she is more comfortable in the truck than any of my previous cars. The engine is a little sluggish for such a big V8, but it handles well for such a big vehicle.
Problems Every 10k Miles
I bought my truck brand new in 2006 and right at every 10k miles up to my 70k mile mark I have had problems of every kind. If it wasn't the window controls on the driver side it was the CatCon going out and running me almost $2500. My truck has been good as far as getting from place to place but gas mileage is horrible, it used to get 450 miles to a 26 gal tank, now it barely gets 300 so be prepared for that. This is not a truck used for work or any kind of off-roading. The other thing that I can't stand is how the 4x4 works. You have to put it into nuetral to switch the 4x4 in, then you have to put it into drive then nuetral then reverse and then back into drive for it to kick in.
