Looked at many SUV's but the Explorer ST intrigued me with its's looks and stance. Mega power (400hp) smooth and linear all the way through the power band. 18 months into ownership with zero problems and tons of enjoyment. 21 mpg average & 26 mpg highway excellent for this V6 powerhouse. My Rapid Red ST gets many compliments when parked... Fun, Fun, Fun, a wise choice so far.... Now almost 3 years later and my ST is still a blast to drive and trouble free. Love the 400 hp twin turbo engine, it put a smile on my face when ever I ask it to pick up the pace while entering highway.

I upgraded to the Explorer ST. The engine growls with an awesome note, pulls effortlessly strong off the line, and maneuvers with ease. The interior is well laid out, comfortable and intuitive. Update: After 7months and 7,600 miles, I’m more and more impressed. One of the best vehicles I’ve ever bought. Update2: 13 months and 15,000+ effortless miles. Yeah, the portrait screen kinda sucks but I don’t use the apple car play anyways. She gets better with every mile.

The Explorer ST has more horsepower than any family suv has a right to have. And it is right there when you need it. Be careful with this one, it's a ticket magnetic.

The ST is the Bomb!!

I have 24,000 miles on my 2022 ST and the only problem I have had with it is one of the Homelink buttons stuck. We are getting 19 mpg, which is only a couple miles a gallon less than the Toyota Highlander we replaced, but with 100 hp more. The comments I get about the looks(Is that a Range Rover? is the most asked question. The red brake calipers behind the 21” black wheels look awesome! I got mine with the 2nd row bucket seats and they are very comfortable. The heated and cooled front seats come in handy here in Las Vegas, as does the heated steering wheel in the early mornings. I highly recommend the Explorer ST. It’s the Bomb!

Rotary Dial for Transmission is not good

I have driven our Ford Explorer ST Line 2022 SUV for around 3 weeks now and really like everything about the vehicle except for one issue. The dial used for changing gears from forward to reverse, I find quite problematic. There is a lag of around 1-2 seconds before the reverse will engage. I have asked the dealership about this and they say that all dial transmissions are like this. It is quite problematic if we want to change into reverse when making a three point turn, parking or have gone too far forward and need to reverse a little. The lag time causes a bit of unnecessary risk in driving the vehicle in the event you have to move quickly. I would not buy this vehicle again as I find this aspect a big deterrent.
