Purchased the 2020 Limited Trim with less than 22,000 miles in May, 2022. From the initial onset, there were issues with the back-up camera which gave a blue screen when reversing. After multiple visits to the dealership due to this recall. It was fixed. Then all of a sudden with my servicing up to date and no known mechanical faults or warnings, the car burst into flames in March of this year with the whole engine block and 90 percent of everything under the hood burnt. I won't tell you to stay away but think twice.

Major Disappointment

I bought his vehicle brand new in July, 2019. With fewer than 23,00 miles, my 2020 Explorer Limited lost its transmission. It had been announced early in its inception that the 2020 Explorer was rough-shifting in the lower gears, but the sudden slamming, jerking and noise of down-shifting in recent weeks was far worse. The dealer checked it out and determined that a complete transmission rebuild was needed. The 5-year drive train warranty expires in five months. I can't wait to see what happens next. Additionally, there have been lesser annoyances---the passenger window would bounce back down upon raising; the transmission cooler had to be replaced; the rear camera needed repair twice; the alarm would go off by itself; and the rear cross-traffic sensor stopped working. That's enough.
