Cosmetic issues they refuse to admit
Paint is bubbling off of the hood. Ford refuses to cover it stating the corrosion does not go all the way through. The upholstery on the passenger door has started to come off of the door.

I wish I Didn't
I purchased this vehicle at 99,000 when I stopped in a ford dealer to inquire about trading my 2008 Toyota, Highlander that had 250,000 miles. I am used to my Toyota cars getting well over the 200k mark so with the salesman telling me the Ford Explorers are the longest running SUVs I felt sure I could get a few years at least another 100k out of it. BIG mistake. When I bought it I noticed how when the car is running and I have a passenger get out of front passenger side what to me sounds like the engine revs. I toke it back a few weeks later to the Rtown Ford to have it checked along with brakes the created a massive amount if brake dust. I was under the initial dealer warranty and was told they didn't hear anything and the brakes where fine. Fast forward 8 months to my 1st oil change outside their complimentary so I went to another dealer and of course they recommend brakes and 3 weeks after that I can't go into reverse...the first time I tried and went forward again the car sounded like the whole bottom was going to fall out and when I call the dealer the Preston warranty that came with them certifying the car only covers engine. So I'm driving forward until I can't anymore. This will be my last Ford.

What a ride!
Bought this to replace 2012 Chrysler 300. Needed more room on road trips. The ride is excellent and as good as the Chrysler 300 which was great. Drove through driving rain on recent trip and this SUV was solid and no wind buffeting when you pass Tractor Trailers! For a mid size SUV, the ride and lack of wind noise is excellent. The Sync system works great and the Ac configuration is well thought out. The ac will freeze you out. I also own a 2002 Ford a Explorer which still runs great! The 2015 Explorer is a great SUV and will not disappoint you! With 10,000 miles on Explorer it still impresses me with its quiet and smooth ride. It is excellent on the highway!

Test Drove Today
I'm looking for a newer car. I have a 2007 Buick Rendezvous and looking to upgrade. I originally did not come to the dealership to test this particular car, it caught my eye and my husband and I decided to go for it. I had pros and cons for our family. Pros: This baby defiantly had power. I barely pulled out of the lotand it was doing 60mph. The ride was very smooth and quiet, like my Buick in its earlier days. The front had lots of leg room. I'm 5ft 10in and my husband is 6ft abd both us were very comfortable. I didn't even have my seat all the way back abd still had plenty of leg abd head room. Cons: The car is not very good on turns. It does not turn smoothly. I also found the cargo space lacking. I work in direct sales and haul a lot of stuff to customers, anddo a lot of vendor shows as well as drive my kids around. Cargo space is a must have for my family. I don't think there is much leg room for my kids as they get older. The car sits a lot lower than I'm used to. Overall it's a pretty good SUV, but if you need a family car or cargo space you might want to check other options.

Trim parts fly off windshield
Ford is aware of this problem on the 2015 ford explorer and has not done a recall. The trim pieces on each side of the windshield warp and fly off the car while driving. The dealer says the roof racks also lose parts on a regular basis. It sounds miniscule till you find out it will cost over $800. to replace the trim with the same type of trim that flew off. Thank goodness for super glue and black duct tape! That's right. I have duct tape holding on one side of my passenger side windshield trim. Unfortunately the drivers side flew away on the highway. Not covered under warranty, not a recall, pull out the old wallet. That's right. Pay 50,000. plus for your new explorer, and expect your trim to warp and fly away. Either pay $800. to replace it or use glue and duct tape on your $50 000. SUV. The other problem is with the front wheel drive. There is a tremendous pull to the right when braking on wet roads. It does it on dry roads too. Front end has been aligned twice and radial pull has been accounted for so tire rotation is done front to back on each rotation. Instead of the swap side front to back. The pull is there on wet roads and can be so strong that is wrenches the steering wheel out of my hands. That is not safe at any speed. I'm not sure that I will buy another explorer if this is what to expect. Updating, now the rubber gasket around the door is falling off.
