Nice Looking But Weak Performance

2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac XLT Premium 4WD 4dr Crew Cab (4.0L 6cyl 5A)

The SUV/truck looks good and drives ok when going straight...but try to turn and it wobbles like a duck. If you're into something different than the ordinary...this is the vehicle for you...it's not too big and not too small...the Big Bad Wolf would be confused with a vehicle like this.

Bought in 2007; with 25,000 miles; XLT Premium. Like new. Saved a bunch. Looked at new Jeep four door, too much metal showing, and Dakota four door, noisier and more truck-like. Well pleased with this compromise design. Good looking, solid, quiet. Fits in my garage. Have added K&N air filter, removed resonator, changed to flow- through muffler. 16 mpg in suburban driving.

This car is very luxurious and spacious. It could fir five heavy adults. Handling is great. The styling and the bed size are perfect. It's perfect to haul furniture, etc. The best part is that it's very high and you can see everything on the road. I love it!!!

this replaced my 91 ranger as a highway travel vehicle. liked that truck and kept it for local running around. the 4.0 is an outstanding engine. have 239k on the p/u and still going strong. tranny feels solid. ride is as expected for a p/u bed vehicle. overall performance is quite good. steering is excellent . brakes are quite good and responsive. I like the 16" tires. the composit bedliner is a great item. interior is roomie and comfortable, although for long trips the drivers seat starts to feel like it needs more bottom cushion support. altogether, this vehicle tickles me pink and will be around for a long time.

Oustanding performance. Just as comfortable on mountain trails as riding around town. Well Worth it.
