Ford Expedition- Beauty and the Beast
Ok. There has been some issues. Over the past 14 years of ownership, things will go wrong. A/C went out in 2014, spark plug shot out of cylinder in 2013, and I replaced a coil pack/ Alternator in December of 2016. Little rust under the car, not noticeable. The car is great. People complain about "it is not fast". Honey, please don't buy a 3-row full-size SUV and expect it to pick up like an AMG G-Wagon. These cars are now dirt cheap which is awesome. This car at 6000rpm's when you give it some gas will sound fantastic. MPG is poor, but once again honey, this is not a Prius. The car is heavy, great in the snow considering no TCS. The car looks good as well. As I look for a new car, it will be a Ford or Lincoln no doubt.

Never again
Putting a new engine in mine, cheaper then buying a new truck. I had lots of problems with the truck. Bought it new. I like the way it drives and handles but the repairs will make you go bankrupt. When the warrenty runs out get rid of it quick. WILL not buy another ford.

O3 Expedition - A Great Vehicle
I purchaed a 2003 4x4 XLT 5.4 on dec 31st of 2002. We have had the vehicle for around one month. I am extremely pleased so far. The truck handles like a vehicle half it size, it almost feels light. pressed hard into corners it has very little body roll. The build quilty is solid. Acceleration is good while braking is excellent, but the interior is really where this vehicle shines. It is massive, comforatble and extremely versatile. The fold flat 3rd row seat was the deciding factor over the Tahoe I was looking at. It puts the U in utility. If you are looking at full sized SUV's you owe it to yourself to give this truck a look - it is a gem.
Excellent redesign
As close you are going to get to a luxury sedan ride in an SUV. The independant rear suspension really helps the handling and ride along with allowing them to come up with best designed third row seat in any SUV. I owned a Durango previously and once my son grew over 4.5 feet he outgrew "his" 3rd row, which was an innovation at that time. After the first year Ford should put some more thought into the interior features. Have not tested the off road performance...yet.
A Lovable Beast of An SUV
Well this is my second Expedition & I truly love it. The ride is 100% better than my 97 Eddie Bauer model. The one thing that surprised me is on my 97 the door ajar light needed to be fixed 3 times & sure enough it has happened on my 03, FORD FIX THIS PROBLEM!!. The interior is comfortable & the new body is sleeker & less fussy than the previous models. I think the Expediton will be my auto choice for many years to come.
