I get 28-34 mpg, have had very few mechanical problems, good stability in difficult, almost accidents. very inexpensive transportation for cost per miles, including purchase price. Has lots of room for hauling things around.

I bought my 'Scort while in college a few years ago, and she paid for herself several times over - what a deal! All repairs were minor and due to regular wear and tear. I replaced the clutch once (it was the original), and other than tires that was my only big expense. She gets great gas milage, and she's fun to drive, too. I've never known a more reliable vehicle.

I drove my Escort for 6 years before it was wrecked. I've been in two accidents in Escorts and the safety devices did their jobs nicely. Two major repairs were clutch and timing belt at 80K. GREAT CAR FOR THE PRICE!!!

I bought this car brand new. (with 38 miles) I have had this car for 10 years now, and could not have asked for a better built or more reliable car. It has 200,000 miles on it, and I have not had to do a single repair to the motor. Everything on the car is original (excluding brakes and tires) This car is so dependible I would put my 79 year old grandmother in it to drive acrossed country with no worries.

I'ts a long lasting car. Acceleration is poor and only seems better during night time. Does not do well against hills. The most gradual hills will cause the car to deaccelerate even when the gas pedal is pushed all the way down. Burns gas quickly and the gas reader begins to shake. The speedometer stick shakes when reaching speeds over 70. The car also lidles too high; it goes 10 miles and hour when just put into gear with automatics. Radiator uses a lot of coolant and often leaks when parked. For some strange reason the car actually keeps on truckin'.
