Biggest POS since the Ford Tempo in 1991
Bought this in June 2018. At 32000 miles blew the motor and turbo, left me stranded in Arkansas. A month later thermostat went out. Then a sensor. I was on my way back from Illinois this last weekend and the check engine light came on. (69000 miles) Thermostat!!!! Ford told me this vehicle has 2 thermostats. I travel a lot and this SUV has left me stranded more than any car I've owned. I have a 07 F150 that has over 160000 miles and running great have never had to do anything to it! This Ecosport is a huge mistake by Ford. Left a very bad impression on me. I've always been a Ford person since I could drive in the 80's. But his weekend....this worthless SUV will be getting traded in. Hate to say it, but may be leaning toward Hyundai or Toyota. It will definitely not be a Ford. If you buy this SUV, make sure you get an extended waranty because you will need it!

Give it some thought !
The vehicle is a 36 month lease. Avoid it if you can! The vehicle has no trunk space and is a pig on gas. It is rated at 25 mpg combined. But I have averaged 12.5 mpg for nearly 4 weeks. I've already spent a small fortune on gas. What is also disturbing is that the vehicle is not equipped with a spare tire. This trend may be vogue in Europe , but here in New York City a spare tire is MANDATORY. Ford does offer free roadside assistance , but who can routinely wait 3 hours to have them change a tire when I can do in 30 minutes. And last but certainly not least, the CD player has gone the way of the Dodo bird. It is not offered. Discard your CD's. If the vehicle is offered at no cost, Consider it!! Advice: Never buy a vehicle when you are tired. If you do, you'll be writing reviews like one. t

Minimally impressed with my new "cute" little car
I traded my Ford Fusion in as the mileage was just getting too high, but I am a loyal ford owner. This car looks nice or " cute" as my friends say. It is small inside and everything is very plastic. Sound system is so-so and the gas mileage is fair. I find the ' turn off" at stop to be annoying and this car does not accelerate well. However, once you do get going- it is easy to find yourself going fast. I wanted a vehicle that will handle the sudden pooling of rain on FL roads-so will see. I miss the Fusion so if you are in the market -give that a try..On the plus side, the rear door opens well with the side way door and is easier to get things out. There is room to put more stuff in the car if you take the time to reconfigure the seats and movable shelf. UPDATE: I traded the car in. I only got 4000 for it. No body damage and low mileage. The vehicle was just too small and it was work to drive it. Did not drive well on slick roads.

8 months later
The sole reason I traded in my 2017 Ford Fusion was fuel economy. My Fusion was giving me 24-25 MPG. This Ecosport was suppose to get 26-30 MPG. So far I am getting 21.6 MPG and that is nearly all highway driving. I am very disappointed as I was expecting 30mpg on highway. That isn't all...with less that 1000 miles, my drivers side back seat door window spontaneously shattered. No one passing me, no other cars on the road..It just imploded. I can only say I am glad no one was in my back seat (if they could fit). The dealer said ford would cover it under warranty. Guess what..Ford refused citing glass is not covered under warranty. Very disappointed with gas mileage and Ford all together. If you are buying it because you want a sporty little suv, then it is great. If you are buying it for gas mileage, then look at something else. I do like the car...gas mileage is the basic issue. I do sometimes wish I had kept my fusion. It's a nice car, but with two people it is a bit crowded. I drive mostly alone so it is ok for me. Not a car to take a trip in.

I like it, but I don't love it.
I have always purchased and enjoyed most Ford products. The technology has always been ahead of the curve. I had to replace my 2013 C-max with another vehicle at a moment's notice, due to an accident that totaled my car. NOTE: Resale value of C-max's are very poor. I liked the style of the EcoSport, but when it comes to practicality, I'm not so sure. I like the handling and the infotainment system. However, the touch screen looks like it got tacked on at the last minute as an afterthought. I just know that there will be dirt build-up behind the screen on the dashboard. The back seats do not fold down FLAT with the cargo space. Instead there is a Mickey-Moused board, that has to be implemented to make the cargo space semi-flat. Ugly. Ugly. Ugly. When the seats are folded down, you see the bottom of the seat cushions and the front seats do not go back very far. The jury is still out on the swing gate. One thing I have noticed: plastic EVERYWHERE - and looks like not a good quality. If I had time, I probably would have looked at other competitive models. I'm a bit in the 'buyer's remorse' mode right now.
