Love/Hate Relationship
I loved the CMax on sight. I happily looked forward to the awesome 47mpg promised on the sticker. I drove off the lot a convert to Ford. I got over that quickly. 33 days to be exact, when a tire blew out. Then a few days later, a second tire blew out. Ford said I hit a curb. I didn't. They said it was Michelin's fault. Then came the recalls, the USB connector that won't stay anchored inside the console, the audio that doesn't always work (they blame my iPhone), lame SYNC services, and the lies about the fuel economy. I am getting 41-42 MPG. Nice from the 25 my last car got, but I live in fear of tires blowing out (no spare/donut). I would trade it in if I could afford to.
I've owned my Ford C-max for a YEAR
I loved this car at first But now it has locked me out and won't start I got over it the first and second time but now we are on the eighth time Every time I have taken it to the ford dealer i bought it from(this is the third time) they give me a different reason and say it is fixed after they are done They even said it was my remote start i had put in even thought it did it twice before I put the starter in They told me i had to remove it cost $177.00 Oh and that remote start cost $650.00 to put in But I live in the country we have a lot of hills I am trying to get rid of the car because I have a two year old and need something that is reliable
Great Car
I have had this car for almost two weeks. We researched C-max on line before buying. It has exceeded expectations in every way! What a fun car to drive! I recommend it highly. We are exceeding 40 mpg now and expect to go much higher as it is "broken in".
NO START DEAD Battery
It is a cute car and comfortable if a single passenger is the primary occupant maybe 1 child anymore and it's very tight - it's not very well designed for a female. no where near enough compartments for all the items we need to carry for our children so everyday needs just ends loose all the back seat. I like how Toyota and Honda has little closed compartments on the dash.
2013 C Max give it a try !!!!
I was looking for upgrading from my Ford Focus which is an excellent car also. My husband talked me into considering a Hybrid. I thought the Prius was the most ugliest hybrid on the market. I have owned several Ford vehicles in the past. And have never had problems with needing repairs on any of them. So we went to our local Ford Dealership in March 2014. We test drove the 2013 C Max SE. And knew this was the vehicle for us. We have never had any problems with the vehicle since we owned it. The gas milage was a little under what was stated by Ford. We ended up getting a check in the mail to compensate for the incorrect stated mpg. It is a good vehicle because it's easy to get into, with two knee replacements and hip problem ,I would recommend this vehicle for someone that has disabilities. The vehicle handles really good in good weather. It hugs the corners and when you need to accelerate the vehicle is very responsive. I was surprised that this hybrid had so much acceleration power. Because of the electric and gas motors working at the same time. when accelerating the power is unbelievable and has more horsepower the a gas engine. Though I really wish I would have gotten the 2014 C Max SEL instead because the options were exactly what I was looking for. Like the lumber support, backup camera instead of the backup assistance and leather heated seats. We had taken a road trip from Minnesota to LasVegas during Christmas and New years. The vehicle was a comfortable long distance drive. The only draw back on the 2013 C Max SE is that the seats were very uncomfortable. So uncomfortable that my husband had to stop at the emergency room along the way because his back was causing chronic pain from the drivers seat. The SE model didn't have the lumbar support. That is why I would recommend the SEL model with the adjustable lumber support if you are taking any long distance trips. My Ford Focus was an SE also and had very uncomfortable seats . I think Ford could improve the front seats because they are very uncomfortable. The other issues we had with the C Max is in rain and snow the vehicle doesn't handle good at all. When the two motors work together it makes the vehicle hard to control expecially after it snows. I think it may have something to do with the kind of factory tires. They are not a very aggressive tire because it keeps the MPG up to standards. Also because of oxeginated gas that Minnesota uses in the winter the gas milage is less than in the warmer months. I have purchased a second vehicle for winter driving that has a gas engine.
