Stratus Review
Excellent performance from a reasonably priced package. Design that gets many positive comments, even with the car being now 4 years old. Good sound system. Excellent reliability.
amazing performance for a 6cyl.!!!!
the 01 stratus is fun to drive with the optional auto stick. the top of the powerband is very responsive. handling is great on dry or wet surfaces. interior design is awesome, everthing is within arms length of the driver. could have added heat to the power leather seats for the cold winters, but ya can't have everything! would purchase another in a heartbeat. only problem i have had was a timing belt tensioner at 90XXX miles
Hot car
If you want a fast car, that gets the looks from the ladies, the Stratus R/T is the right choice.
Do Not Make A Mistake
I purchased this car about 2 years ago with 65K miles on it. Now it has 84K miles on it and nothing but problems. I started having weird engine noises and I took the vehicle in right away. After having regular oil changes and receipts for proof...my problem was that I needed a new engine at a cost of $6K which my extended warranty declined. The problem was due to engine sludge which is a common and known problem with Dodge and Chrysler vehicles with the 2.7L engine. I found this out after the fact by doing a lot of research on the internet. Chrysler does not care. Beware and do your homework. I will be dumping this junk very very soon. Not to mention taking a huge loss in dollars.
2001 Stratus Coupe SE
What attracted me to the Stratus Coupe was first the styling, then I really couldnt believe the price. A fully loaded 200hp coupe for 20grand, not bad. Much better styled than the Monte Carlo. Build quality could be better, sometimes can hear rattles in back and in the dash. 3.0 V6 is a gem, very smooth, however max torque isnt achieved until higher in the revs, so if you drive like me, you are frequently in the 4-5rpm range. Overall a very good buy.
