Cool Ride
I had a Dodge Dakota prior for over 7 years and it treated me great. Now they are smaller with the new design. I had to stepup to the BIG BOY, I LOve to drive it had over 3000 miles in less than 2 months. The changes to the 2002 model are for the best, it's a Excellant Adventure!!!
Ram 1500 ST V6
I have not had any trouble at all with this truck, and am glad I chose it over Ford and Chevy. Execellent truck for daily driving, handles very well, comfortable, nice ride.

Best bang for the buck
Have had this 2dr 4x4 4.7L auto 8' box truck for 6 months now. I love it. It had done everything I have asked of it. like everyone else the gas mailage needs improved. I live in a very hilly area & get 11.6 in the city & 17.5 on the highway. also the transmision shifts alot on the hills as well, that needs improvement. But the looks are sharp, the ride is excelent for a 6000 lb truck & the few problems I have had were corrected very quickly. this truck also has lots of interior room even for a standard cab. I researched trucks heavily for 3 months before I bought the new Ram & by far it is the best built & running for the dollar you pay.
Best P/U I have ever Had
Great truck.....I love it.
Ram
This vehicle looks like a brute and is very powerful but can't wait till the New Hemi 5.7L engine comes out this summer with 345hp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ram turning heads
I've had my Ram Quad for 3 weeks and I can say without a doubt that this is the best large truck w/4 doors out there. The best thing about the Ram is that it has long time Ford/Chevy loyalists actually admitting that Dodge has hit a home run. It kills them to admit this. Everything from the engine to the standard 17" wheels gets great feedback. The 4.7 is more than enough engine.
I Luv It
I have enjoyed my new truck. A truck I can fit in with my family. Great over design
Great truck to ride
This truck is fun to drive. It feels like I am driving a muscle car! You should own one.
Dodge Ram Tough Enough For Me!!
I love the Ram Truck because it is tough enough for me.
Comfort...NOT economical
The ride and comfort of this truck is better than other trucks in its class. The gas milage is the WORST in its class though. I would not recommend this truck simply because of the cost for gas it cost to operate. I would be willing to sacrifice a little comfort for better MPG with a different manufacture.
This truck kicks ass!
This truck kicks ass! The BIG BOLD cross-hair grill in the front, the 20" wheel package, the fold out cargo floor, the storage compartments under every seat, the (finally)independent front suspension, The awesome 7 Speaker Infinity Stereo System, The 85 degree rear doors with fully functional windows. WOW Dodge's design team got there heads out of the mud on this truck! I traded in my 98 and haven't even thought twice about the decision. WAY TO GO DODGE!
ONLY IN A DODGE!
Drove them all & none mathed what the Dodge had to offer. Had to wait a few months for the dealers to deal, but it was worth it. The 4.7 with the auto will be fine for most people & situations. Would like a little more highway grunt, but good off the line. The exhaust not is perfect, especially up hill at 2800 rpm. Don't listen to the ones with nothing good to say & how cheap everything is. They have a problem. The quality is great. 11 months, 13,000 miles, no problems, no regrets. Don't get the 5.7, not worth it, just worse gas milage. Wait for the Hemi. Enjoy...
great lookin truck
I originally owned a 2001 ram sport for a short time then traded in for the new ram and have since been more than satisfied. The ride is smooth, the tranny feels great, and the 20" wheels really set off the look of the truck overall. And dont be affraid of getting the smaller 4.7 ... it has plenty of get up and go for anyone, I like mine a lot..
Best Ram yet
The interior roominess is great. The new four-door configuration is a big improvement over my 99 Quad Cab. The 20" wheel package is a real eye catcher as is the bigger, bolder grill. The Sport is especially head turning.
The Mayor
I bought my truck nov of 2001 and I love it. It has a very strong engine that pulls my 21' ski boat with no problems whatsoever. It gets the attention of everyone and they all love it and it is really affordable. I have had very few mechanical issues that were taken care of quickly by the dealership. It doesnt get great gas mileage, but its a v8 what do you expect? I would reccomend it to anyone who wants a great looking truck thats relatively inexpensive with a lot of options. Take one for a ride and you will see what I'm talking about. Happy truckin!
2002 DODGE RAM QUAD CAB
I was looking at a silverado or gmc sierra but felt that the dodge just out-performed them both. I am very happy with my decision. I woul recommend this truck to anyone.
If you like attention!!!!
First pickup I have owned. I LOVE it. The Flame Red color always grabs attention. The 4.7 has great power, I tow a 28 foot travel trailer with it and it never skips a beat. This is a great truck.
Great Truck!
Vehicle is great. There does appear to be some frequency on two specific cement highways in California's San Francisco Bay Area where a natural mode is hit and the vehicle vibration is quite intense. Other than that, the power, handling, and styling is great!
Best Truck
I have looked at many other trucks, but this one is by far the best. The looks of the truck is what caught my eye at first glance. The room inside is very spacious. We also have a minivan , but with a family of two adults and two children, we still prefer to take the truck. The truck handles like a sport car, yet very comfortable. Look at this truck, then test drive it. You will see that it is the best truck you can buy.
I used to be a Chevy nut.
I used to be a Chevrolet nut. Would'nt have anything else. I took one test drive and I was stuck on my Dodge 1500 SLT. As long as they keep making them like this, I'll keep buying them. It not only performs well, it looks good. I feel like I got the best deal anywhere.
Pleased as Punch
Functional and fun to drive. Not really a Heavy-Hauler but handles 1200lbs. of camper without a whimper and only a slight loss in fuel economy (2-3mpg.)
dodge rules
this is the best sytled truck with the best engine that this company has put out to date
love this truck
great looking, drives great, fun to drive, plenty of room frt and rear, paint is solid, performance is superb and, like it better every time i drive it.
Nice Truck
Rides like a truck. Handels like a car. Sounds tuff and sets up high. I really like it.
I love it!
I love this truck! I have wanted it since they came out, I found them on sale at the end of the year, there was no hastle. It is well designed, rides great, and makes me very happy. My only complaint is the gas mileage (I drove a Honda).
The Mayor Lives
Awesome Truck. I just picked it up about a week ago and have driven about 400 miles. Traded in my 1998 Dakota 4WD Club Cab for the extra room and towing power of the Ram Quad Cab. I love the 20" wheels but I'll need running boards so the family won't have to scale the truck to get in it. I think I'll go with the full appearance upgrade with the running boads, and valances. My neighbor keeps coming over to just look at the truck and he actually told me he was dreaming about it the other night. I love the sound of the engine; so much so I don't know why I even purchased the upgraded stereo. I'm picking up a new RV travel trailer and can't wait to see how this truck tows.
DadgeBoyToy
I Love My New Dodge truck,, People are always telling me they like it also, Ex. People I know who own the older style// They seem to like there dodge better...
Lonestar Edition
Lone Star edition of the Dodge Ram Crew Cab is great. Fun to drive and makes you feel like the king of the road! Disappointment is gas mileage - only 11 to 12 in town and about 15.5 at 75mph and about 17 if you only drive no faster than 65mph. I traded in a 2001 Chevy Silverado Quad Cab 1500 for this and have not been disappointed, except for gas mileage.
Gas hog, but what a truck!
I just love this truck. The styling is excellent and the ride is great. 2nd truck I've owned and this is by far the best. Back end is a little light so you have to watch the bumps. Fit and finish is good and the interior is super comfortable. Bigest draw back is the TERRIBLE gas milage out of the 5.9L engine, what a HOG. 8 - 9 MPG around town and a max of 17 on the open road with no load in the bed. Plenty of power, passes everything but a gas station. But I didn't buy it for the gas milage. You're gonna love this hog.
READ THIS!!!
I bought a 2wd st standard cab ram with the 4.7L and auto trans. it's atlantic blue. I couldn't improve on this truck if I wanted to. Even the cup holders adjust to any size cup and will never lose grip. I'm in love with my truck because it's a pleasure to drive. There has never been a better truck made so if you don't like how the ram rides get a CAR NOT A TRUCK! And don't even mention gas mileage because every make gets about the SAME MILEAGE. If you don't like it then why would you buy it? DRIVE IT
Nice Truck, BUT
The truck is great I love it. The only thing wrong is I get A LOT of WIND SOUND on the drivers door. I took it in to Carmax in Los ANgeles and they tell me nothing is wrong. I will try back with Frahm but if they dont fix it I will be trying a Ford in two years.
Wish it was better
The truck is pretty nice, but it is very very sensitive to every bump in the road. Especially at 65-70 on a freeway, the truck starts bucking to the point that I have to slow down to feel like I can control it! Also not pleased with build quality. Big pain blemish in the cab embedded in the actual finish! Dealer says they have to strip entire cab to fix. Found other paint defects, like over spray drips. Fit not great, especially with hood. Interior is fantastic, I love the extra storage and roominess, and the rear seat arrangement.
I'm satisfied
I bought my pickup in August of 2002. The dealer had a demo with 13000 miles that had the options (Crew cab, Dark red, 4.7V8, Premium seats, aluminum wheels) that I wanted. I now have over 25000 miles on the truck. I have really enjoyed the smooth quiet ride (for a truck) and the spacious cab. I highly recommend the premium seats. The engine is adequate but could use more power especially for the amount of fuel it consumes (average 15.4 MPG). I hardly notice the transmission working. The truck feels stable and easy to maneuver. Over all I am very satisfied.
I love this guy !!!!
I'm TX resident and my job gets me traveled a lot weekly. The pickup helps me much on roads. this is handled well and very stable in highspeed. one time this got a breakdown last May when I was on rough roads. this trouble is sort of gas pipe inside. I solved this myselft and my agency checked it out later and say nothing serious.
2002 Ram 1500
After initial quality problems, steering column rattle, passenger heated and lumbar seat broke, serpenteen belt went, power winodws were extremely slow on passenger side, rear passenger power door lock did not work in cold weather...it is a good, not great truck. I had the 2001 Ram and the quality was better, however the ride on the 2002 is far better
Favorable- (first dodge)
2002 Silver quad cab SLT. 17 inch wheels Bought from brother in law with 18k miles. I have 30k on it now. I really like the under rear seat storage. more is better. Four full size/Fully opening doors. 4 Fully opening windows. The over all looks of the truck & the ride.
Great truck
Great ride, great looking, great sounding: this is a TRUCK. I am in Texas and I purchased the Lone Star Edition which includes the 20" wheels. Gas mileage could be better, but it's not an issue with me. Everyone who rides the truck likes how high it is... Probably will get some step bars for my wife and others...
I Want my Chevy back!!!
I traded a '99 Chevy 1500 X-cab LT Z71, back in March for this 02 Dodge 1500 4DR,4x4 SLT Sport. The Chevy handled better, had much more power, did not bounce all over the road when I hit a bump, and got much better gas mileage. If I had it to do all over again, I would have gone back to a Chevy. I really like the new look and 4 doors of this vehicle but thats about it. The transmission is not geared as well as my old Chevy and just doesnt feel like a truck with a 360 in it.
Awesome Truck
I just bought my truck last month and I love it. The only thing that I could say that I don't like about it is that it lacks good acceleration. Other than that I think I am going to be happy with my new truck. The new body style is a great change. The new front end makes this truck stand out above the rest.
King of all Trucks
Bought this truck with only a 1500 dollar rebate.. now they have 6000 dollar rebates. But guess what just finished paying for it and I dont need another vehicle because it is still working great! At the time had a seven year 100,000 mile powertrain..I took the complete warranty ..did use it on the windows and some minor radiator repairs. Now tempted on the lifetime warranty but the gas might prohibit me from keeping it twenty years if I only use it to drive! Still lifetime warranty on a truck is might tempting.. especially since the first one off the line has had so much good reviews and results. 5.9 engine has been great.. wouldnt have a 4.7 if gas was the same.. kudos Dodge.
Excellent Truck
So far this has been a great truck. I did notice quite a bit of rear wheel play on a bumpy interstate, but I also have towing package and 20" wheels. Great handling and superior build quality. Excellent fit and finish. I have owned Chevy's 1500 4x4 last 14 years, but this Dodge changed my mind on that.
I love it!!
I just want to tell eveyone that this is the truck of tommorrow today!!!!! It is great!!
Best Truck Yet
Performance is good, handling is excellent. The 4 wheel disc brakes are fantastic, the truck stops on a dime and the brake feel is firm and controlling. The doors are all double rubber sealed so she is quiet to ride in. The rack and pinion steering and the stiffer frame make the handling of the truck nice in corners and sudden moves. The truck sits up a littel higher than some and really like the visibility.
A great truck at a great price
I purchased a loaded Sport Ram 1500 4 door about 7 months ago and haven't regretted it in the least. The Ram gives me plenty of leg, head, and shoulder room. The interior is clean and uncluttered but full of useful storage space. This is my first Dodge but it won't be my last. The Dodge is my favorite full sized truck on the market, it is also one of the most affordable between Ford, Dodge, and Chevy. I could buy more truck for less money with a Dodge, and feel I got a superior product as well. Its heavy, safe, smooth, and dependable.
Rust flecks in white paint??
Love everything about the truck except for the lack of metal in the front. Also, there are little rust spots all over the truck in the white paint. Looks like there are tiny metal shavings in the paint. The silver paint along the bottom is unaffected.
More Than I Expected
purchased a base (ST) model with cloth seats and automatic transmission. This is one of those "the whole is more than the sum of the parts". I've Never owned a Dodge before, but the build quality, looks, drive, power, ride, equipment and price are far beyond what Ford, Chev and Toyota can offer.
Engineer's Review
I bought the truck for the ride, fit, and finish. Exterior and interior looks were not a factor, but a pleasant surprise to have this package wrapped so well. Outstanding ride, excellent engine/transmission match, comfortable for 5. Just turned 10,000 miles with no major problems. Best package for the $$ when compared to Ford and GM. 7/100 warranty a nice plus, but don't anticipate needing it.
2002 Reg Cab
Excellent Truck. Fun to drive
Turns all the heads
I really enjoy this truck and exp the price that I got. I would have had to go up 8000 for a gmc and for i couldnt get them below 23 for a used one with 30k on it.
#1 Truck
This is my first Dodge and I plan to stay with the dodge line. I like the way the truck drives and I love the way it looks on the road. I went with a 4 x 4 and the size of the truck makes me feel safe on the highway.
