Good car with reservations

This is the first time I have bought a family car and selected the Pacifica based on the interior and safty rating. So far the car is functioning as expected. My 2 main concerns with the car after a year is reliablity (2 recalls in a year) and the engine. So far we have averaged 16.5 mpg. This would be acceptable if the car had good acceleration, but it does not. The ride is smooth, but you have to really think ahead if you are changing lanes, since acceleration is minimal.

Car okay - Chrysler Service terrible

I knew several negatives about the car prior to purchase, too many blind spots. The car has been okay but the service department have been terrible now there everything is wrong because they did not identify transmission problems at 14,000 miles when 1st complaint was submitted. I'd never purchase another Chrysler product for that reason.

BEWARE 2004 Pacificas

I am reasonably satisfied with the ride and comfort of this car but it is in reality an overweight, underpowered car with poor rear visibility, mediocre mileage, and poor reliability (early production 2004 model). It has the ever recurring belt squeal/whine noted on other early 2004 Pacificas. Repeatedly taken in for service to fix and never is fixed. Chrysler has offered a courtesy trade back for the purchase price less mileage adjustment BUT I must buy another similar product (from the same maker of my "lemon") and swap the "refund" to be applied to a new car at full MSRP. What a crock. Sell me a lemon and REQUIRE me to buy another potential lemon at full sticker. Chrysler stinks.

The Car is ok, but the service is awful

My 2004 Pacifica is probably the most comfortable car that I've ever owned. Build quality and reliability are slightly above average in comparison to other cars that I have owned. However, all of this falls to the wayside after having a miserable experience getting warranty work performed. We had problems with the suspension was covered under the warranty. However, we were still charged for the work. Their explanations vague and evasive. They also kept the car several days longer than promised. I'm not displeased with the car. But because of the hideous service from the dealer, I will NEVER, under any conditions, buy another Chrysler product.

I bought my pacifica thinking I was getting the newest trend. The only thing I got was the shaft as in the drive shaft. I had to replace both within first year and both motor mounts. The transmission is terrible and is slipping. It does not handle well at all. Never again will I but one.

Pacifica at one year

Car handles fine---gas mileage leaves a little to be desired (13 and 21) versus same engine in previous car (300M) at 17 and 24. Outside plastic discoloration needs to be addressed by factory. Back bumper easily reflects bumps (creases) and its costly to replace.

Problem

My pacifica 2002 is NEW! Has less than 5,000 miles on it. The longer I drive it it automatically shuts down and won't start again until hours later. For Example, I pulled up (fortunately) in front of my house. The car literally died. Could not start it until the next morning. Something has got to be wrong with it mechanically built at the factory. How can I explain what is the matter? It seems the longer you drive it then it can simply stop on its own. I'm afraid to drive it now for fear of an accident on a highway or local traffic. anyone else have that problem. How do I get it fixed?

First, I'd like to say that In general I like the fit and finsh, styling, ride, comfort, features, etc. of this vehicle. Unfortunately, this thing has had more warranty issues and recalls than ALL of the other vehicles that I have owned COMBINED. Here is a brief list of SOME of the things that have required attention: Rear liquid-filled engine mount- split open and fluid leaked out. Fuel guage- would drop to empty for no reason, then return. EGR valve blew apart and created an exhaust leak. PCM wiring harness- recall. DVD screen- replaced due to bad pixels. A/C control panel-replaced. Dual Zone Climate Control- Temperature on right/left side 5 Deg. different when set @ the same temperature...

I was shopping for a new SUV and looked everywhere for great price. Well finally found it and this crossover has been horrible for us. First thing wrong 4 days after buying it car shuts down on expressway no reason, next oil leaking, next starts making clapping noise, next starts kicking back while driving as if changing gears! Next had to have pulley tensioner replaced now making horrible noise that wont go away, now alternator is failing! What else can go wrong, this was supposed to be my dream car n turns out to be a nightmare!

At the very begining I relly like it, but at 6000 miles a noise either in the steering or front supension started and the dealer said they didn't find any noise the two times the vehicle was for service. Also at 6K miles a module for the power locks and windows stoped working.
