I bought my TB in 2004 and it had 80k miles, was a rebuilt and now in 2012 it has 160k miles. Awesome car, barely brakes down other than ussual battery and tire replacelement. The only thing i notices that's begining to break down is the window power but to do date it's been awesome car with fog lights still working.

Our 2002 Chevy Trailblazer is just about to hit 300,000 Miles on the odometer. We have done regular maintenance every 3,000 miles. We have had only one minor issue, which was a coil pack. Everything else about this vehicle has been perfect. Ours is our daily driver and is garage kept. I tend to do around 100 miles of driving on it each day. It is an amazing truck.

I've had around 28 cars and suv's and this one is my favorite (the only one that comes close was my 2002 Tahoe LT). I purchased my TB with 72,000 miles on it 3 years ago and now have 115,000 on it and have only done normal things (tune up, tires, brakes, fluids, belts, lights). The only major thing that I had to do was the flex plate on the transmission was cracked. My TB is used every day for work and I do a lot of city driving and it turns better then most sub-compact cars do and can fit in most if not all parking garages in Philly, New York, Washington DC, and so on. The ride is great, the truck is easy to work on and tows my pop up with ease couldn't be happier with this pack-mule.

I'm just sick over the fact that I wrecked my '02 Trailblazer a week and a half ago. I LOVED that car. In fact, most comments I got from people, after making sure that I was okay, were to express their sympathy over me losing my car - everyone knew how much I loved that thing. As a real estate broker specializing in mountain properties, I used my TB for all it was worth. At 159,000 miles, it ran perfectly, looked nearly perfect, nobody could tell it was as old as it was. I bought it in '04 with 42k miles on it, and only repair was a 4WD switch computer chip. While I was spinning out in the rain on the freeway about to hit a tree, I was calm because I knew it would keep me safe, and it did.

2002 Chevy TrailBlazer LT

I’ve owned my 02 TrailBlazer since December of 2017. It has 111,000 miles and runs great with regular oil changes and such. The interior could have been more updated for the year but overall looks pretty good. The 4 wheel drive works great like my old 99 Explorer. I’m not really a GM guy but this Trailblazer is one of the best GM cars out there. Would recommend to others.

I loved this car. It had enough room for my family of 5 plus a little more. In December 2002, the transmission went out for the first of three times. It was under warranty the first time, but not the other two times. The rear air conditioner had problems as well. On two different occasions it had to be repaired. After the third transmission failure in August 2005, I fixed it and traded it. I miss the car, but I had spent over $4,000 in repair and maintenance costs in the 15 mos following the expiration of my warranty. I just couldn't afford it anymore.

I bought a 2002 in February 2009, and by May I had to put 1,500 in it towards a whole new electrical system! It started doing strange electrical things and got to where I could turn the key over but it wouldn't start. It had nothing to do with the battery. We took it to a GM dealership to have it fixed. Well its been 7 mths and were back to where we started 1,500 dollars ago! This is ridiculous and unfair to the customers! Where is the customer loyalty???

iI pre-ordered a fully-loaded LTZ before they came out. The only thing I didn't like were the seats (not a lot of lateral support and lumbar support adjustment was minimal). I later read reviews from people plagues with problems, including the engine. I waited for mine to fall apart and it never did. The engine got noisier but didn't fall apart. After ten years and 110,000 miles, it still runs strong with absolutely no problems! Tires and brakes lasted until 90,000 miles! My C5 Corvette and C-Class Mercedes can't even come close to the reliability that the Trailblazer has. I guess I didn't get the lemon ... I'm keeping it until it until it dies.pric

Not a truck. I'm imagining these things happening to your car must terrible. Nevertheless, it is 2019 and my TB go like it just came off the lot. The tranny went out at 173K its rebuilt. I have currently 206k miles on it. I can still burn rubber. Still passing what won't move. It's a real road runner. And yes initially these motors are built to run at least 300k

The car has been in the dealer 5 times already. 1. wind noise it sounded like the windows were down at 45 mph. 2. vibrating of the once the car hits 75 mph. 3. and last the transmition is giving prolems already. the car only has 5900 miles and it has spent more time in the dealer than on the street.

We've this Trailblazer EXT for two months and we love it! We recently took it on a 900 mile vacation. We averaged 20 mph on the highway at 80 mph with five people, a/c running and a full load. It went up and down hills with minimal effort. The wind noise up front wasn't as bad as we had heard, although still noticeable. We made the switch to the Trailbalzer from a 2001 Venture. We thought the suv wouldn't be able to rival the convienence of the van. We were wrong. We'll never have a van again.

My wife insisted on getting an SUV in spite of her having a reliable 2dr car that was paid for. I shopped around for awhile and saw that the Trailblazers came at a good price. We bought used with low miles. I couldn;t be happier with the car. It's got so many bells and whistles (we have the LTZ) it makes it fun to drive. Gas mileage is not the best but, it's an SUV what can you do.

Started looking for an '02 Explorer, and then read about all the problems with them. So I switched over to the TrailBlazer. Liked almost everything I got. But a couple of little electrical issues keep this from being a great car. 1) Memory mirrors don't go where they are supposed to when preset is recalled. Dealer says it needs to be replaced, but I will just live with it. 2) OnStar system is not working. Needs to be fixed. Would have been nice to know before I signed up for the service. I think this is more a problem of the dealer not fixing a few issues before selling it, but with only 51K on it, these shouldn't be issues in the first place.

Purchased in late 2002 as used vehicle with low miles. Now have 111,600 miles, and no major problems other than fan clutch which was covered by warranty. Just replaced compressor at $1040 after it froze up. Replaced battery twice, tires once, and tail light twice. Use the 4WD when it rains, and feel much more secure. Really love the smooth ride, radio and power. Only complaint is mileage 12.5 city/20 mpg highway which is good for vehicle this size/about 18 mpg when using 4WD on highway. Would recommend to anyone.

Let me say first, I love the truck. But, as with any GM product I am having some issues on a 5 month old vehicle. I live in Buffalo New York, the snow capital of the world, and rely on 4WD. I got my recall notice back in November regarding the 4WD not working and got it fixed in December. Now, 2 weeks ago the same part that was fixed is broken again, so I have to drive throught the snow with a RWD vehicle. It goes into the dealer AGAIN today. Anyone else having similar problems?

Vast interior volume improvement over the blazer. The new engine does not feel as if it is unleashing 270 hp. Build Quality is still questionable. I have had mine in the shop for electrical problems and as of yesterday it left me on the side of the road due to an electronic malfunction. I beginning to think FORD.

I loved to drive my trailblazer more than my car . At first I had problems with the four wheel drive ,it would try to go into four low going down the road .also had a lot of electrical problems,Doors would lock by themselves, security horn would blow when you unlocked the door. I got decent gas milage 17 to 20 . Just traded for a 2003 GMC Envoy , it has 2;73 gearing only getting 14 to 15 mpg on GMC.The tailgate handle molding ate into the paint, noticed GMC has a rubber seal around it.

I bought this Chevy used. I knew the risk but car looked great, low miles and great used price. Did not buy an extended warranty because the car only had 28,000 miles and was in excellent condition. Three months and two car payments later the trnasmission falls apart on a car with 31,000 miles. Unlike many of its competitors, Chevy does not offer a 5 year warranty on the power train of the Trailblazer. Wonder why? Chevy knows this should not have happened but we still had to pay big. (Chevy did split the price with us). This car is junk. Do not buy! If you have to have it, buy a very good extended warranty.

Bought the TrailBlazer 4WD LTZ brand new almost 5 years ago, trading in my '96 Grand Cherokee Limited. Fuel economy, handling, power, reliability and quality are all about the same. The Chevy has better interior space and comfort although I think the front seats could be better. I think the Chevy's style, ride, stereo and other gadgets are better than the Jeep's. The only thing I miss is the sound of the V8. Chevy's V6 might have plenty of power but the sound of it is almost embarrassing. The trips back to the dealer have been infrequent, just regular servicing, fixing the turn signal on the side mirror that the car wash people broke and to fix a ding in the hood.

This is my first experience with anything other than a "car". I have never enjoyed driving a vehicle more than this one! It's comfortable, quiet, accelerates like a dream and is reliable. At first, I had a problem with my side mirrors re-adjusting themselves at whim, but these were recalled and have since been fixed. Other than that - no problems at all. The only disappointing thing about this vehicle is the gas mileage. I drive strictly highway and average 17.0 mpg. I feel like I'm always as the gas station.

I bought a "certified" used 2002 from the dealership w/ extended warranty. this broke down 3 days after I drove it off the lot. took 3 weeks to get back. I have had nothing but 1 problem after another in 4 yrs of ownership. Engine just went at 70k (manuf defect w/ cyl wall) and after 6 weeks I finally get back with used engine that doesn't run right. On way home front suspension fell apart- not put back together properly. Calls to Chevy/GM were no help. GM will not stand behind their vehicles and basically acted like they didn't even want to hear about my problem. GM refused to give new engine or guarantee on used engine. I'll never buy GM again. Getting Subaru if I ever get back.

Ford Explorer vs. Chevy Trailblazer. The exterior styling is really what won me over. And also the 0% financing. I have not been very happy since the purchase. The dealership has been very helpful, but I am making to many trips in for repairs. Problems: --AC worked intermittenly. --Fuel economy avg. 16 mpg. --seatbelts lock up constantly. --Front storage is useless, the gearshift takes away from interior functionality. (you may not notice it on a test drive, but you will in real life) --lots of interior squeaks --loud road noise over 50 plenty of horsepower, but that only goes so far. I would not recommend the Trailblazer

My parents have been GM/Chevy people ever since I can remember. I think their first was a 1962 Impala Station Wagon. Anyway, I was with them when they purchased their Trailblazer. What [non-permissible content removed]! All the same issues as everyone else has been stating. Stalling at lights & pulling into and out of the driveway and intermittent rough idle and high rapid idle for no reason at at 32,000 miles. 40,000 miles brought about incorrect inside/outside temperature readings & inability use climate control which was supposedly unrepairable. Seatbelts that don't release & just keep getting tighter and tighter ever since purchase and they can't seem to repair it or didn't want to.

Very happy with my LTZ 4WD bought 2 years & 60k miles ago. Everyone loves the way the car looks, handles and the quite ride. I looked at the Mercedes, X5, 4 Runnerand the MDX. The trailblazer had the best combination of price, power and features. Zipping around town so much more fun to drive than my Yukon. The car does have a personality with its various electronic problems including electronic side mirrors (replaced 6 times now at dealer) dash board power failures, occasional tendency to try to shift into 4wd Low! on the highway at 80 mph, alarm problems. Overall ive been very happy with a car.

I have never bought a new car with so many problems. All these problems and it never went off road. All sway bars had to be replaced within the first 3 months to stop the banging noise when I made a turn. The entire left wheel had to be replaced and remounted. The squeeking noise during normal driving is driving me mad. Now the transmition doesn't always shift from 1st to 2nd. It has been in to be repaired at least once per month since I bought it. I'm dumping it before the warranty runs out. DO NOT BUY ONE.

The 2002 LTZ Trailblazer is a fairly nice vehicle except for it's reliability. I've driven the LTZ for a 18 months with 6 trips to the dealer for the same problem connected to the four wheel drive system. It seams to have a mind of its own. It either wants to shift on its own or leave you stranded. Has anyone else had this problem? The dealer made me a reasonable offer to trade mine for a 2003 model but when I accepted the offer they pulled it off the table. Good luck to all who purchase a Chevy Trailblazer.

I live in the mountains and have 61K miles in both Sierra Snow and California Freeways. No unusual problems and I consider this car several steps above the 96 Grand Cherokee that I traded in. Only gripes are VERY minor... Rear visibility when backing up is bad, and ground clearance isn't quite the same as the Jeep. However, much nicer package all around and VERY capable in snow.

My First SUV in ages... Very satisfied with this barely used [9900 miles] Loaded TrailBlazer LTZ. I've had it one month and put 1000 miles on it so far. First roadtrip was 300 miles in a winter storm that brought 10+inches of snow so I was able to try out the AWD and 4WD options and had no troubles with either rather was surprised at how well it travelled with both. -2nd cup holder is hard to use if you have your cell phone and/or radar plugged in as the cords block its use.

I drove past the vehicle on the lot for a couple of weeks. I couldn't wait to own it. Unfortunately, it has not been kind to me. Reduced engine light comes on frequently. It has been to the dealership 6 xs to get repaired for that. They replaced numerous electrical components only to tell me they are not sure what the problem is. The driver door module works when it wants to, so sometimes the door doesn't lock. The memory seat works when it wants to. Other than that, replaced suspension parts, and fuel sending unit. All of this happened from 50,000 to 90,000. Can't wait to get rid of it!

With all the problems with this SUV, it should be called a DealerBlazer. It's been in for problems six times in the first year. Now it is currently back at the dealer because the four wheel drive would not work. The dealer got it to work and couldn't get it to turn off. Nothing but major electrical problems, ranging from the four wheel drive to the seats, mirrors and alarm. Back window leaks have been 'fixed' 4 times. Poor handling and seat comfort as well. Don't waste your money. Avoid it. For $36000 it's a big waste of money.

I purchased this vehicle about a year and a half ago and have had endless problems. The Transmission shifted rough. I brought it into the dealership and they said there wasn't a fix for it at the time of production of my vehicle, but sold them anyway "As Is." I had the computer reprogrammed which helped some. Also there was wind noise, driver floor and accelerator pedal vibration, weather stripping falling off, rain water leaks on the entire driver side into the vehicle, squeaks and rattles, seatbelt locking up, and breaking wasn't smooth. The vehicle would lunge just before stopping. Should have gotten the Lemon Law on this one!

Bought new. Fun to drive; impressed with smooth engine and automatic transmission. Nice height, easy in & out. Couple of minor problems with wipers/auto moisture detect. Dealer fixed, no further problems. Owned a GMC Yukon previous; nice vehicle, but the Trailblazer is great. Would definitely buy again. Drivers side rearview mirror changes position when key is removed and engine restarted.

This is a vehicle that has been in for service every nine and a half days since I picked it up. The problems range from a defective right front axle seal, to a severely leaking rear liftglass, to complete autotrac system failure, to the flooding of the driver's floor because the exterior seal was not tight enough. Counting the visit later this week for sticking steering wheel buttons, a mildew smell from the a/c, and parts that were replaced that now have to be replaced again, this vehicle has been out of my hands for almost twenty days in the six months of my ownership of it.

This was the best 36000 I ever spent. COmpared to the price and comfort of the Mercedes ML 320 that I looked at before buying this, the Trail BLazer blows it away. It rides like a car and has many features for a family, (dual radio and climate controls). The only problems encountered were with the electronics. The seat would not move into position sometimes when ignition was started, and side veiw mirrors seem to have a mind of their own and not stay in set place.

Purchased my 2002 LTZ new and had too many problems, hood hinges that squeaked, strap fell off the rear gate, 4 safety recalls, cracked cylinder bore liner (factory recall) it has been in the shop for two weeks now. I only have 7000 miles, too many problems.

I love this vehicle for the design and ride. Lots of room, heavy towing capacity, lots of cargo room. The ride is smooth. The sound system is not the best in the world, but hey, it beats riding in silence!

Great ride, good size, good styling, roomy 3rd row that can fit adults. Many AC problems over two years. VERY disappointed over residual value. A $37000 car is now worth $12000 after two years on a trade. Chevy has lost a customer forever.

My wife and I love the look and feel of our Trailblazer but the reliability is what brings us down. Transmission went out at 25,000 miles and dealership kept car for 3 weeks to fix it. ENORMOUS amount of AC problems over the last 1 1/2 years. Dealership can sometimes "duplicate" problem and they just keep replacing parts but nothing on the AC gets fixed. Also, the clock will sometimes change to a totally different time by itself (jump ahead a few hours and minutes). One time, the complete dashboard electrical system just went out (all the displays and the speedomoter). I got it to come back on after I turned the engine off and on again. Car sometimes has trouble starting too.

Smooth, comfortable ride with many ammenities. Gas mileage 12 city, <18 hwy. Some recalls on wipers and seatbelt safety (but did not occur in my vehicle after inspection by dealership). Seems to be problem with rear lights - have replaced bulbs several times. I would buy another but this was the "first year" for the model. Just had to work out the bugs.

I really liked the look and the feel of the vehicle when I bought it. After 2 months it was in the shop for sway bar links, 4-wheel drive switch, and the 4-wheel drive had to be reprogrammed. That was over $2500 worth of work. I am waiting for more to go wrong, I was driving and noticed it is now making the same noise it did when the sway links went out. When will it ever stop?

I love my TB, i bought it n 04. I now have over 230,000 miles on her. Over the last 3 yrs I have put 2 transissions in her , fuel pump, 2 alt., a starter, new battery, several sets of tires. I have put alot of money into her, however she now acts like she is going to cut off when i stop or take off. the rpm's either rev up to 2000+ or they drop down to like 400-. I have had the throttle body cleaned and a tune up, but she is still acting up. however, even w/ all of the problems ive had, i still cant seem to trade her in yet. I always say, ill rock her till her wheels fall off, however, im pretty sure they fell off and i just put new ones back on

Not only have I had this car in for service at least 10 times, I lost a ton of money in its resale value. The build quality is terrible, half the problems I have had were deemed as "could not duplicate" by the dealership and went unfixed. Now, I am trying to unload this hunk of junk and getting hosed by the resale. This is the fourth Chevy in a row I have owned that has NOT performed well, you would think I would have learned my lesson by now.... Don't make the same mistake I made!!!
