Lifters problem non-stop on 2021 Chevy Tahoe RST
Bough out Chevy Tahoe RST 2021 in March, came almost direct from manufacturer. Less than 4K miles, started showing messages on the dashboard such as "Forward Collision System Unavailable", ESC, and others. Also on the Chevrolet app showing "exhaust system problem" I took it to the dealership,. they said the lifters had problems and they needed to be replaced. When asked why a brand new car have this issue they said, any car can broke, etc. I said "Ok", Chevrolet only gives you $38 toward your rental, so if you are a lucky one, you may get a mid size SUV, really hard to get a Large Size SUV such as tahoe. Car was at the dealership like 2 weeks, then I got it back. Around 5300 miles, I got the same problem. Then I checked online and found that all GM 5.3 and 6.2 lts engines built from Sept 2020 to March 2021, have defective lifters, instead make a recall for all units, they decided to change all 16 lifters if issue is reported before 8000 miles, and if after, they will only change one side (8 lifters), I checked with mine, and they changed all 16 lifters the first time, now, another was changed and probably will brake them all again. I will try to sell car to CARMAX and get a Minivan instead. This was our first expensive car +$60K and we got really disappointed. I may loose over $15K in this transaction but next car will be a lease. Get a Japanese car instead, Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Infiniti, Lexus, dont buy this crap. Tahoe looks beautiful, but if you buy it, will be your nightmare. You are warned.

Do not buy 2021 tahoe high country
constant clicking noise at the passenger dashboard area and ticking noise from inside cabin plastic covers ALL OVER the cabin , three weeks at the dealer without solution, took almost all metal clips away and fixed it with silicon and ducktape , will pay 3 more years for it and GET RID OF IT FOR SURE

What happened?
I am a big and tall guy and for decades the Tahoe was my go to vehicle for comfort. Not anymore. The door column intrudes way into the driver's seating space if you have to push the seat back more than half way. Its a very uncomfortable ride for me now. I also don't care for how much the hood impedes driver visibility. I didn't buy the car.

Service code at 500 miles
I have owned suburban for the past 12 years, decided to upgrade to The newly designed Tahoe. Very impressive in terms of luxury, handling and room. The only thing that is expected for first year Tahoe to have some flaws. Service code pulling up on the cluster to service steering column lock at 500 miles , scheduled for service this week hopefully it’s something easy will see..... otherwise we Love it.

Don't buy this year's model too many issues!
I bought th RST back in January of 2021. Back in May on my way from Florida to my house which was a 11 hours plus drive, after two hours into the drive the engine light and traction light came on with a clicking, thumping and low performance everyone I press on the gas pedal. Took it to the dealership when I got home and almost three weeks later I got the Tahie back. It's the the lifters and rods that went bad. Fast forward to 19 August 2021 I started the truck and it failed to start kept saying battery weak, service transmission, service steering colum lock, service ESC. I tried three times and it finally started with no cautions this time. A few days later it did it again and I took it to chevy dealer and they are looking into the issue. For a brand new SUV this has been a pain and not reliable to drive long distance.

2021 Tahoe/ lemon/ problem after problem
Going tomorrow for the 10 repair in less than 6 months! I’ve never had so many problems with a NEW VEHICLE! It’s annoying and uncalled for! How can this happen to so many 2021 Tahoe?
Overall performance of my 2021 High Country Tahoe
I bought the first 2021 Tahoe that arrived in our city, and I regret it daily. Back bucket seat rattles, recall after recall, exterior mirrors not holding their memory, no heat in the winter, radio issues, headrest not going back to normal after folding the rear 3rd row seats, both having to be replaced.

My Chevrolet Navigation
I've owned a 2015 and a 2019 tahoe. I now have a 2021 . on my 2 previous tahoes, i could send navigation to my vehicle in the morning, from my house and it would take. with the 2021, the navigation does not take. If im in the vehicle, it does take. Strange about this is, if the vehicle is cold, in the morning, it takes, but if i go somewhere and send navigation from within a restaurant, or wherever, it does take. Its like, the vehicle has to be warm for it to take?

2021 Tahoe is Meh
Bought an LT version. Thought this was the right mix of the new versus the old. I was wrong i paid 51K MRSP for a 1998 Tahoe with Bluetooth. This car is technically the same as my 2013 silverado but has a 10" screen in the dash. Big whoop, amazon sells a 10 inch tablet for under $200. Chevy is a bullshit company that only retreads 20-30yr old tech, if you can avoid this car. It is litterally the same as my moms 2005 tahoe. Maybe oneday tesla will come with a true famiy car, until then this is the best worst choice.

The Tahoe High Country
It is the most beautiful and luxurious suv I have ever owned! It meets all of my expectations!
No complaints
Perfect length, more room than previous years so didn't need to get the Suburban. Rides very smooth, not trucky like previous years. Perfect size touch screen, comfortable seats.

Verry Cherry 21
Like my cellphone, this truck has more technology than I will ever need... that said, there is nothing about this Tahoe to complain about ( although I 'm not a fan of the auto-stop/start feature, which can be disabled by a dash switch temporarily ). Even though it has substantially higher mileage than a 2021 should have, it looks and feels fresh and crisp. I did add chrome protective trim moldings on both sides to save the door panels from parking lot punches. Mine has an integrated trailering package including a factory brake controller and multiple wiring harness connectors. Turns much tighter, and gets noticably better mileage, than the older Yukon it replaced, and the " cherry tint" paint is gorgeous in sunlight lol....

2021 Z71 Tahoe
The new suspension is great, hardly feels like an off road vehicle. Tons of room for the kids & out door gear.
Tahoe lemon
The engine began to knock backfire and miss out at 5200 miles. Chevrolet put in new lifters, one new push rod and changed the oil. I am concerned that if the oil was contaminated there was most certainly other engine damage that may or may not show up untill after the warranty period. I was given a small front wheel drive loaner on the second day the Tahoe was in the shop for almost two weeks. The lack of adjustible pedals is very annoying. My wife has to drive with the seat so far forward that she quite often hits the light switch with her knee and turns on the lights when exiting the vehicle. Rear seat entertainment screens are totally useless. The only time they have been used at all was when the kids were able to turn off the navigation destination midways through a trip. This is our sixth new GM suv and will probably be the last.

Outstanding Customer Service

Looks good but not reliable
Had the car delivered to me a work rental from my employer. The SUV was brand new with only around 9900 km on it. Had it for about a month and drove an additional 9000 km so the total is 18000km. Then while driving to work it suddenly showed engine heat and started to sputter. Found that the coolant was leaking. Added additional coolant and it was ok for a week. Kept an eye on the radiator coolant tank everyday. Then all of the sudden after a long trip it did not want to start. Heard engine clicking sounds and it was barely moving until it finally died. Took it back to the rental company for them to sort it out. Glad that I had to try it and not own it.

Great staff great deal
Went in looking for a Telluride. Fell in love with an amazing Tahoe!
Car turned off and took half hour to turn it on b
Tahoe high country, purchased the card last Feb,2021 the car is only 5000 miles, turned off while in line picking my kid from school, I could not even use any light or signal to let cars behind me pass or stop beeping. That is not reasonable to experience from a 70K car.

Bad Lifters and Other Issues
Well, where should I start? We bought our 2021 RST back in November 2020 when they first arrived on the lots. We were so excited to own such a beautiful vehicle with so many luxurious features. We loved how quiet and smooth it drove and how comfortable the ride was. Come May 2021, the vehicle all of a sudden shut down saying Steering Column Lock and would NOT start. After spending 2 weeks in the shop, they found that it was a computer/software issue and "just needed some updates." Fast forward to September. Now the vehicle is in the shop for Engine Lifter Failure. Unbelievable! We love our Tahoe but are getting so tired of the issues. Thank God these issues have happened when the vehicle is at home with us and not when we travel. It has been such a pain. My suggestion for anyone that buys this vehicle is to purchase an extended warranty like we did. Much of the towing costs and repairs have been either partially or fully covered so far. Best of luck if you are shopping for a new Tahoe.

2021 Tahoe duramax ls
Maybe the simpler option package has been what's kept me from problems so far? I don't know, but I have had zreo issues and love my Tahoe. Fuel economy even better than advertised. Fingers crossed that it stays this way. Have about 13k miles on it. It's my first diesel and it has been great.
Not worth it!
I bought my fourth Tahoe in September. I have always been happy with them but the 2021 is def not worth it! Nine recalls and they can only fix four of them due to limited parts! Quality of leather is nothing like my 2019 and def does not ride as smooth!

2021 Chevy Tahoe - Engine light / traction control
My Tahoe only has 11,300 miles and it's had engine issues and traction control issues that concern me. I'm thinking I should sell it now and move on. I cant imagine being able to feel good on an extended trip at this point with this vehicle. So disappointing because otherwise I love everything about it.

Worst vehicle I have ever owned
My truck was in an accident, but was fully repaired. After the accident, nothing was ever the same with the truck for some reason the brake module keeps going out. even though they replaced it’s been four times that they had to replace the brake module. Not only that the vehicle were completely shut down if I did 75 mph more it will tell me that I can only do 62 mph and I will get multiple lights on my dad. Also, when I purchased the vehicle, they told me that it came with the wrong size tires when I want to get new tires every time I will try to reverse I will get a scraping noise. I’ve taken it to several GM dealerships and they didn’t really want to touch the vehicle after that even though it was on a warranty because of the accident This is the worst vehicle I have ever owned and it would be my last Chevy vehicle.

2021 Tahoe built from June 2021 is Excellent!
I bought a brand new 2021 Tahoe Z71 in Feb. 2021 and that was junk. It had the Auto Stop/Start with DFM feature and that was horrible. After 1000 miles the car died at almost every red light when I had the Auto Stop/Start feature disabled via the button. The Chevy tech told me not to touch that button as there's an issue with turning off the Auto Stop/Start feature. The "Check Engine" light went away after about another 1000 miles, but the Auto Stop/Start feature was annoying to say the least and didn't leave me much confidence due to the vehicle stalling at red lights before. Anyway, as a blessing in disguise someone rear-ended that Tahoe in June 2021 and I bought a brand new 2021 Chevy Tahoe Z71 in early July 2021 and it was one built I think after June 8, 2021 and it doesn't have the Auto Stop/Start with DFM feature. And thankfully by God's grace this Tahoe has been pretty much the best vehicle I've ever owned (and I've owned well over a hundred vehicles over the decades, ... usually only keep them for a year or two), and my 2021 Tahoe is now over 3 1/2 years old with over 43K miles on it. We just bought new tires. BTW, all updates (there were a few in the beginning) were all over the air (so no need to go to the dealership for that). I get very good offers for my 2021 Tahoe from dealership now for a potential trade in, etc. (with the VIN provided) and I guess the dealerships know that these units starting from built-date June 2021 were very good Tahoe's. So it's important to know what engine your 2021 Tahoe has, i.e. built before June 2021 or from June 2021 onward, etc. I highly recommend these units as I'll keep mine for the time being.

too high
Test drove 2021 Tahoe Z71. Beautiful vehicle but to get in and out of this vehicle maybe 5-6 times a day would have been too much of a chore and I'm 6 foot. Don't know why these have to be that high. Would have bought if not for height. Had new Suburbans in 03 and 05 and were best vehicles ever had. After telling this story at local tavern another patron stated he had bought Tahoe a few months ago and it was a mistake for same reason. He says he's 5'8" and he's sorry he bought.

Love the new ride
Ordered my Tahoe in August 2021, got it December 30, 2021. I love the new design, touch screen, big tires and how smooth it rides. I have the Tahoe LT with a sun roof and 4 captains chairs. I have 1,100 miles on it with no problems. The only minor complaint I have is that the running boards are very slippery in winter weather. Otherwise I love the vehicle. My 2 sons are mechanics and they give it a very high rating. I know the lifters can cause problems after 100,000 miles, but hey I have 99k to go!
Not perfect
Bought one few months ago LT option, one below the Premier version, was told it comes with GPS maps, turns out I need to connect the phone to get it. The worst experience when you pay so much money just to find out you were cheated. Contacted customer service in the region (middle east) and US too, but they didn't really care, only apologise for the experience and referring me back to the dealer. The only offer they made is to pay more money and get the Premium version, instead of refunding my money. The head office customer service abandoned me and didn't take a firm stand with the dealer to show people they do care and will not allow anyone to be cheated. I spent nearly a month after that hardly driving the car, really hated it, until I had no choice to start driving it to go to work . With regards to GPS maps, sometimes it connects right away, and some time it never works. If it does connect, then I might still get stuck if the signal goes bad. Putting aside the dealer and GPS/phone connection matter, I like the leather and options, not too fond of auto stop feature, it keeps worrying me I will loose my starter sooner than later. On the cooler box that is built inside the centre console, I wonder if they ever tested it before implementing the design in the production line. I have never seen a fridge or freezer without a fan except in the chevy, which makes it very ineffective. Toyota Land cruiser cooler box if amazing, only 15 minutes driving and water bottles become too cold to drink. Here, 30 minutes and all you get are cool box walls only. Hardly any cooling inside the box. I bought a small USB fan and dropped it inside the box to move the air around, and only then I saw little improvement. Second row seat power folding is nice, but very loud, makes me think that something broke every time. 3rd row seats are comfortable, actually this was the main reason for buying the car, the size of 3rd row seats, otherwise I would never sell or go away from land cruiser cars, they are very reliable and comfortable.
Total Let Down
We have driven a Chevy Suburban/Tahoe over 1 million miles since 1992...NEVER had a major problem until we purchased our 2021 Tahoe - Premium. 6500 miles and transmission's first 3 gears fried out...the dealership order parts and both times the parts came in defective; finally "ok'd" a new transmission - 5 weeks in the shop...drove the car for 1 week - in town driving conditions - and the car stared clanking ever time the car attempt to shift gears, the lifter arms in the engine are bent or defective...back to the shop, I now know the techs and service advisor by their first names...sad...the quality that Chevy is building and selling to their customers is a sad commentary for a once proud brand...
2021 Chevy Tahoe - an Obese Hog
Drove the new 2021 Tahoe when it came out. Too big, too heavy, and it's a gas hog. If Chevrolet insists on making it an obese hog, at least make a two door version for people that don't need a junior locomotive.
