One tough little car
I purchased my Spark March of 2014 and just totaled it last night hit in the driver's side by a Kia Forte traveling at 45MPH. The airbags deployed and are expensive to replace, plus the left front wheel will need major repair, so more than the residual value of the car thus she's totaled. I walked away with no more than a minor scratch on left of my forehead from the Airbag deployment (that smells like gunpowder). Over the years I've owned the car, I've been rear - ended twice-once by a guy on a Harley-folded his front fork under the bike, ran across a high concrete road devider - flattened the tire but otherwise caused no other damage. Have sometimes pushed the car pretty hard and no major problems, there was the recall for the ac, and the coolant overflow tank cracking for no apparent reason a couple years ago and costing nearly $200 to replace, but I take those in the pace of owning a car, provided they are not a perceived major oversight or design flaw on the part of the manufacturer and this car did not have those, I'll be replacing the Spark with another Spark.

I miss that little guy!
I always wanted a tiny car, and the affordability of this car allowed me to purchase my first car from the dealer. I was very happy at first because it was so cute and of course I finally had the convenience of being able to park in any space with little to no struggle. The inside looks very cool and modern. I got lots of complements and jokes on it. I had the smallest car at my job. I was very happy with it until after a while. I began to noticed the inconvenience of having a small vehicle when every bump and pot hole felt harsh and loud. I began to get annoyed by the noisy drive, and the AC was not too great during the heat waves we have been going through lately. I began to feel that the car was too small when I took long road trips and my guests could not recline much. Eventually I traded it for a more spacey car. It has been almost two months since I've let go and it is starting to hit me, I miss the little guy. It was convenient for gas, and parking. Sometimes you don't know what you have until its gone.

Perfect for city, roadtrips, camping, family use
This is my favorite vehicle out of all the cars and trucks I've owned! Although it is a sub-compact car, there is enough storage space for luggage, groceries, camping equipment, and more. The gas prices in Alaska are pretty expensive, but this car helps keep costs low since we are able to top off the tank for about $20 and make it through the week driving to work, daycare, class, grocery shopping, and usual errands. Another reason I love this car is the front wheel drive and traction control make it easy to drive, even in the winters and even in Alaska.

Lemons-2014 SPARKS
Chevy refused to do anything. Spark got repoed after tranny failed and we quit making payments. Now 5 months Later, Chevy sent a recall----Tranny !!! Never Again will I buy a brand new Chevy. Or any Chevy, for that matter. Transmission has now died, par the course as seen Nationwide on 2014Chevy Sparks. Chevy refuses to do recall or fix it. Lemons. Bought brand new at showroom. First year-leaking radiator fill tank-leaked onto and fried Alternator-THEY refused to replace either. Second year-engine blew-warranty covered it-but it still ticks. THOUSANDS of reports of blown engines on 2014 Chevy Sparks. Third year-NOW My transmission is slipping-THOUSANDS of reports on these transmissions failing- NOW dealer claims my warranty ended at 60K , Chevy says 100K
