I have only had it for a week, so can't say anything about the reliability or the fuel economy. Had to order it special because I wanted the Adaptive Cruise Control which comes with Forward Automatic Braking (they work great), and the dealers don't stock cars with that option. I really like the built in GPS and maps - no longer have to carry a Garmin on my front shelf. And you can program the GPS by talking to it. Got lost at night the first time we were out, and was able to tell it where I wanted to go, and it got us there. Update - Nov 2018 - No change in my comments. Unfortunately, this is one of the cars that General Motors says they are discontinuing.

I am 6 foot 1 and 240 lb and I hate, YES, HATE seat bolsters. That’s why I bought this car. This car has awesome seats. Maybe a bit too firm at times, but very comfortable with lots of room. After 2 + years I still love the exterior and the high class interior. Powerful engine, smooth quiet ride. My 6 foot 3 son can’t sit in the back due to low headroom and the mileage is only 19mpg, but those are the only two flaws...ok, the reminder that “ice is possible” every time the temp hits 37 is really obnoxious too. Interface w iPhone is terrific, radio controls are superb. I have owned many many cars in my life and this is near the top. Only my old original Acura TL rivals it. My only issues with reliability have been a loud catalytic and a faulty gas pedal, both replaced quickly, same day for free at the dealer. It does not do well in snow at all, but found it much better if you turn OFF the traction control, oddly. Get snow tires if u live where it snows regularly. For a sedan, this car is a good value, very roomy and looks and drives great!

They should know that they are getting a great value which has always been an important component of the Impala. This Impala is however clearly a step above older models. Great style, ride, comfort and just a really nice driving experience make it a wonderful car to own. I am really pleased with it. I just took a 2400 mile trip and averaged 32 miles per gallon at an average of 70 MPH. I still really like this car and hope that Chevrolet brings back a new version in the future now that 2020 is the last year. If they don't I will just buy a low mileage newer than mine model in the future.

Purchased as used with 17k miles. GM certified, so it brought the bumper to bumper warranty up to 48k. Very comfortable, great ride for road trips. Premier model provides some very nice and luxurious options. As an on the road salesperson, put lots of miles on it, (28k in the first 12 months). First year had no issue, then the fuel pump failed at 45k. This is very premature, but the worst part about it was that it took 8 weeks for my dealership to get the fuel pump from GM. After getting the car back with new fuel pump, the weather had changed to warm, and I used the A/C for the first time that year, and no cold air. Took it back it, and the evaporator had to be replaced. Unfortunately, it was deja vu all over again, because it took the dealership 6 weeks to get the part. Once I got the car back from that repair, I got rid of it as soon as possible.
