2011 Impala LT
This car is one big disappointment. I have had several Impala's and traded in a 2006 for a 2011. I wish now that I had kept the old car. This Chevrolet model steers worse than my first car, a 1951 Studebaker. The steering is tight creating a stiff turning in town and on highway. My wife has arthritis and has a very difficult time turning a corner. The car has many blind spots including small mirrors,& rear headrests. I opted for bench seats and find them only fair for comfort. In my 2006 Impala I averaged 30 mpg on the highway. On this 2011 i get only 23 mpg. It seems to lack an overdrive. Unfortunately, I was naive enough to think that the steering was only temporary. It's not.
Quiet and Comfortable
This is not a performance sedan but is quite comfortable and smooth on the road. There is a slight amount of delay in acceleration when starting to push the pedal. This car has plenty of pep but the styling is good but not great. Not a flashy car but most buyers want a performer that gets good mileage and this car does that well. If you want a big car with comfort and economy this is your ride!

loosing value fast
Nice car but it does not stand to its name, perfect rental car but no to keep it for a long time, got 32 mpg on high way with plenty of power. Will trade soon for something better before I'm to far upside down on value.
Door Handle Problem
Rented a 2010 LTZ Impala in Anchorage for a week. Wife caught the skin of her right pinky and fourth finger at the pinch point where the inside door handle pivots when opening the door. Happened twice in 5 days. Not a good design for her. Didn't see the problem on the driver side but then my skin is much thicker.
Very Poor Visibility
This car disappointed me with the visibility when backing up and changing lanes. The back window is small for a sedan and the head rests blocked half of the window and they could not be dropped. The center head rest actually blocks the headlights of any car that is behind you at night. There is also a bad blind spot between the rearview and right side view mirror when you are trying to change lanes. The back windows are also small. The air vents are also a very poor design. You have two controls for up/down and left/right. I've seen so many other cars that allow you to change the airflow direction with less complication. It is a distraction when you are driving.
New Car
We bought this car new and we really like it. I had heard they were noisy inside but this on is very quiet. Great ride and I love the trunk. Have not taken any long trips yet but recent 100 trip gave us a nice quiet and comfortable ride. Have only had it a couple of months but very pleased so far. I really like the style and looks of this car
LS & $4000 rebate = Best Value
The base model comes with almost everything you want. V6, power seat, cruise, air, 17" tires, power windows, tire pressure monitor, remote locks, onstar, XM etc. Average 30-33 on HWY at 65 mph Rides quieter and better than a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. Sonata 4 cyl has great top end but is a dog off the line until approx 20 mph Malibu does not have a 6 cyl, take that!
Base Model plus $4,000 Rebate = Bargain
You get a lot with the base "LS" model Has: cruise, tilt, air, tire monitor, onstar with built in phone service 1 year free, XM CD radio, electric seat 3.5 V6, remote door & trunk, electric windows, traction control, 17" tires. Wanted to go for a Hyundai Sonata but after test drive of the Sonata found it to be a dog off the line until about 20 mph, interior was nosier compared to the Impala and its trunk was very small. Can get 33 mpg at 65 mph with a v6.
Good value
I bought this car August of 2010. It was between the Malibu and Impala. I was able to get the Impala cheaper than the Malibu. So I got more for my money. As of today I have 21,000 miles on it. This car has been great except of the steering was squeeking and the rear struts where squeeking after owning it for three months. But I took it in and the greased the steering nuckle and replaced the rear struts. No other problems since. That could have been the problem. I recently noticed that my front rotors needs to be turned, but the way we drive in detroit, it happens to all the cars I own lol. I get 29mpg, and thats great for the way I drive.
A very dangerous vehicle to buy
They need to know gm and Chevrolet will get you killed in a impala they will shut down while driving and the best part is the service dept dont have a clue what is wrong with them low engine power stabitilink powertrain engine check engine light stays on they are so dangerous I'm getting a lawyer today then maybe a recall will be done I'm fed up with gm and Chevy Ford will be number 1 from now on and the really bad part gm or Chevy dont give a crap about killing your kids 70 mph to 10 mph on the interstate

not a car for weather if you want to drive
Rented this car for a 2 days in Denver May 2011. Rained daily. One problem with car is rear view mirror might as well be left at the factory. Can't see through "lazy boy" giant head supports in rear seats for a view though the rear window. Side mirrors small, no lateral extension, and soak up rain drops until they are useless. I had no vision from behind. As far as forward, the headlamps were so useless I exited the expressway to stop and see if they were actually on. Lane changes were scary at night in the rain given this. Can't report more because I rented a F150 next day that I felt safe in. One fun comical note on the Impala is a rear spoiler on a car that is a slow as a dump truck.
Whistle type air leak
I purchased a 2010 Impala in Oct. 2012 with less then 19,000 miles on it. When I am driving down the road with the window down and air button circulating air from outside there is a whistle from the passenger side. If you turn the fan on it stops. If you have the button circulating the air inside the car there is no whistle with the window down and fan off. I have been told now that all the Impala's do this. Really? I don't believe this is true. Why would you manufacture a car that when you drive it you can't enjoy due to whistle. I am fed up with the run around from the dealership. I had a 2004 Impala and my friend has 2009 Impala and they don't have the whistle
Interior needs re-engineering
Interior needs HELP! Center console lacks good design. No place for park money. Cup holders inadequate & not well placed. Rear seat center head-rest obstructs rear view (inside mirror ).The stamped metal parts of front seat are very sharp. (don' try to slide anything under the seat.
I used to like this car but now I don’t
I got this car in august of 2020 with 98k miles on it, ltz trim level I have a issue with the way it drives and performance, my first issue is vibrating idle goes away when air conditioner turned on. Replaced. Plugs wires and coils. Replaced map and maf sensors and all the other maintenance that’s needed. Still no difference, I have had 8 different mechanics look into it and they can’t figure it out. And the money light refuses to turn on Second issue is the transmission, when taking off after sitting at a stoplight for 5 minutes. The car will accelerate and then slam as if I was just rear ended. Took it to my local transmission shop and they don’t know what’s causing that issue because the computer isn’t showing anything. So now I am forced to wait until the transmission breaks completely for them to I mount it and look inside of it. It’s ridiculous. I shouldn’t have to feel like I’m being rear ended every other stop light. I honestly hope this car breaks down so I can address the issues. And that’s sad to wish that. Oil leaks are very common in this car and especially engine. Every gasket has been replaced except rear main seal. This car feels sluggish despite it being a 6 cylinder. The road noise is pretty noticeable on the highway. I have to turn my radio half way up to drown out the sounds. I like that it has tons of room especially inside the trunk The blind spots take a little bit to get adjusted and the side view mirrors are pretty small. Overall I’m happy with my car somewhat. It’s not even the vibrating idle because I usually have my air conditioning running anyways. It’s my transmission. The 4T65E are completely junk I wish gm gave them a more durable build Other than that. Decent gas mileage especially on highway and the seats are pretty comfy

Hope all the LTZ's weren't built this badly!
I had one that had to be built on a Monday; horrible amount of repairs made to it. June 2018: Sold it. Bought a sweet 2015 Mercedes Benz C300 4-matic with 31,000 miles.....huge quality difference. Won't go back to GM.

Climate control
I have not one but two parts ticking from my climate control! I already replaced one and it didn't last 6 months and is bad again! Now I have to replace two of them. It ticks at random times and eventually ruined my battery. I don't even have to be in the car and it starts ticking. This should be a recall since they're putting cheap parts made in China! I bought an Impala because I thought they were good cars. I already had to replace the transmission at 72,000 miles! It went completely out with no warning! They really need to stand behind their product! I'm a very unhappy customer and not sure I'll ever buy a Chevy again!

Expensive manufacture defect maintenance
Expensive maintenance due to manufacture defects not covered under warranty. Transmission failure at 94,000 miles. Worn engine oil intake gaskets and valve seals at 50,000 miles. Brakes and rotors/drums rust and wear out fast. Climate system actuators fail at 80,000 miles. Air bag harnesses needs rewired and wires gets smashed under seat. Drivers side seat belt receptacle broke. Safety features are not covered under lifetime warranty. Passenger air filter compartment is on the outside of the car and water can leak inside the passenger side dash and get into the fuse box and corrode wires. It’s a great car if you keep up on the maintenance.

What a mess.
I had bought a 2011 Impala 3.9 liter Police Package with about 69,000 miles on the odometer in 2018. and with great maintenance the vehicle only lasted about 3 years, with 102,000 miles on it. Here's why, It all started with an odd engine code around 76,000 miles "camshaft position circuit". So of course seeing this code, I swapped out the Camshaft Positioning sensor, as well the variable valve timing solenoid sensor. This of course did absolute nothing, not very long after, I started to notice an exponentially growing chatter coming from the timing chain, Obviously meaning I had a stretching timing chain, or a maybe some bad sprocket gears. This is About a $2500 job done professionally, not cheap. Also This timing problem is detrimental to the life of the vehicle. This is seen as a common problem among this generation of Impala, in both 3.5, and 3.9 engine variations. Fortunately my timing assembly never failed on me. Overtime I did notice a huge decrease In fuel economy, speed, and overall engine performance. Around 90,000-95,000 the ride quality started to go down hill and I started noticing an on going and with my experience as an automotive technician, I replaced the key components that would effects ride quality. Such as, all 4 strut assemblies, all 4 hub bearings, a wheel alignment, new brake pads and rotors and 2 front tires totaling to about $1500 spent. This this made the vehicle handle better, but still never resolved the shake I continued to feel. Around 100,000-102,622 is where things started to become really difficult. About a week before I was scheduled to bring my Impala to have the timing assembly replaced the I noticed the transmission has recently starting slipping. It started off happening very randomly, and over the time period of about one week it was happening 4/5 time every take off. After scanning the Impala, I noticed a transmission code pop up. And after knowing the nature of these vehicles I knew it was time to give it up. Usually when these Impalas start to slip, that's a pretty good sign that the transmission is about fail In total. I have worked an automotive tech for going on 2 years now, and I've seen this same problem happen time after time. It's a good thing I was to trade clear the code, and trade it back into the dealership that sold it to me, suckers. My conclusion is, this car was built well in a drive quality, not longevity. The amount of engine and transmission failures at 100,000-150,000 in these is insane. I probably would recommend the year and model of this vehicle specifically from my past experiences,

Week Long Rental
I was given the 2010 Chevy Impala Lt to drive while my 2008 Mazda 3 was in the shop. I came away missing my Mazda real bad. Gas Mileage during the week averaged 21.3 which is terrible because I drive mostly highway to work. The ride is pretty comfortable compared to my Mazda. The V6 engine is nice on the highway, but acceleration seems slow. Overall my Mazda is much more fun to drive.
Alignment issue
Drive is good, but the car's alignment drifts and pulls right. i need to tug constantly to left at both slow and highway speeds.
be forewarned
I only have 41,000 miles on my 2010 chevy impala. Never had a car with so many problems...display says engine losing power....also warning about stabil something or other...car has loud ticking noise coming from front passenger side when opening or closing doors also when starting car or turning off ignition.
