Used 2011 Chevrolet Equinox Consumer Reviews
Great ride and value
Bought new LT1, 4 cyl model two weeks ago. Much smoother and quieter than all other small SUVs I tested (Kia, Hyundai, Honda, Toyota). I was looking for a nice, small AWD with modern features. The 2011 Equinox provided this and much more. quiet ride, features and value.
Gas Mileage Awful
My wife and I bought a 2011 Equinox after spending weeks looking at crossovers. Build quality is top notch and the ride is like floating on a cloud. The only complaint I have is the gas mileage. Most of our driving is in town so we expected it to be on the low end of the range but 15 mpg in town is ridiculous. Highway mileage runs about 26 mpg, which is so-so. After 2000 miles we get 17.4 mpg average. We are both grandparents and don't race around the streets like its Indy.

Piece of garbage!!!
Do not buy this car and if you already have...get rid of it! I have had this car in the shop at least 10 times since I bought it. I've had problems with and had repaired or replaced the timing chain, actuators and lord only knows what else. 2 weeks ago it did again what it always does...check engine light comes on, makes a terrible rattling noise, service stabilitrak light comes on, goes to reduced power mode WHILE I'M DRIVING and then just dies. This car has left me stranded on the side of the road on 3 different occasions. After having my vehicle towed to a GM dealership and complaining to GM about them covering the repairs, they tell me that they will not cover the cost. There has been a service bulletin issued regarding this same problem and a chevy dealership has made repairs before based on this service bulletin at no cost. I'm going to sue. Does anyone know of an attorney in Houston that would handle my claim?

2011 Equinox Headache
Almost a year I have had my 2011 equinox and still nothings changed I really regret this vehicle this is the worst GM vehicle Ive ever had. Til this day the fuel ecomony sucks whats so go about this, my 2006 chevy uplander was a v6 and had better fuel economy. I got the equinox for the fuel consumption had I known all of this I would never of got this vehicle. Driving this vehicle is another story now it hesitates almost as if the vehicle was thinking what to do, also lack of power I did my recall nothings really changed. GM must do something about this it is their vehicle but they wont stand behind it Ive driving GM all my life and have been very proud but this might be my last.
Great buy, no regrets, go for it! BEST small SUV
Amazing car, handles much better than CRV, especially on a highway. Very quite and smooth, comfortable ride. Gas mileage is also great, as advertised. Electronics and dash board instrumentation is light years ahead of any other compact SUV. Interior is well designed and does not feel cheap unlike Nissan Rogue and Subaru Forester which both. Options packages are well thought of and not a rip off like with Hondas etc. GM included all the basic convenience into basic models and did not make 1 or 2 desperately wanted option available on premium trim levels only. I got exactly what I need without paying for extra stuff which I dont. Dont think any further, Equinox is not perfect but the best!
